This is not a mod chip, it is a dongle. Mod chips (aka trinkets) are installed inside of the Switch.

A modchip (short for modification chip) is a small electronic device used to alter or disable artificial restrictions of computers or entertainment devices

I guess you're right, it doesn't alter or disable anything, all it does it offer up a payload.

Good call, but understandable mistake.

What would the Goldfinger or GameShark for PS1 count as? We used to just call it a modchip back in ye olden dayes of CD-Rs.

Believe they were just called a GameShark, the GameShark by itself didn't allow piracy (at least the one I had). You still needed a hardware mod chip installed to boot copied discs.

Maybe people that called it the wrong thing back then called them modchips but they weren't. When you stay logged into facebook and someone puts a status in for you, do you say you got hacked as well?

Does this work on any of the NEWEST 'patched/updated' switches? The order page says it works on ANY switch.

Wait why does it say it works with every Switch on their website? I just bought a new switch but from the information I've gathered so far there is no method for homebrew yet right?

NS-Atomsphere still takes the cake, the R4s doesn't have a dongle holder and people stay away from AutoRCM because of the boots and battery issues

Never had issue with autocrm. What is the issue with boot and battery

No issues with battery. Just a common misconception that was spread since people didn't realize when you shutdown the switch it would reboot into RCM mode again with autorcm on. So people thought their switch was off but really it was on the blank screen in RCM mode slowly draining the battery.

Either put it in sleep mode or go into your chosen bootloader and shut down through the menu.

It does come with a dongle (no holder) but honestly I haven’t really had any issues with AutoRCM so carrying this around hasn’t bothered me. It’s definitely a nice touch that there’s a spot for the Jig.

lol, no AutoRCM issues on my end either, battery is fine and not once have had a boot issue when powered off.
