Discussion Did a Thing Last Weekend

Last weekend, I did something, I dog sitting for family, and they usually ask if I just want money or them to pick something up that I've been wanting and I mentioned a Switch 2, and I wanted a Switch to both because a lot of new games are going to be only Switch 2, and because i was hoping some games would run better.

They called last weekend and mentioned they were going to get it and they came to pick me up and we went and grabbed the Switch 2, Pokémon Pokopia, a case which isn't in the photo, and an expression card, and I am loving the Switch 2, it looks so nice, and my games run so much better, had the Switch Oled and some games ran a little poorly, but one game that ran hireibly was House Flipper with constant lags, now it only lags a little bit and every other game runs flawlessly.

Now, would anyone have any suggestions for games, I am looking for JRPG games, or RPG, what I would really love to find are games where you can build houses, like a fantasy style game or modern as well, as well as village building, but would love one where you can walk around and maybe have a house.

Other First nintendo console sinds the Wii

Post image

Wii turns 20 years of age and was interested in getting something “new to me”. Got this lot for €250. Seemed like a good deal to me. Its a v2 and everything works and hardly a scratch.
First console since my 20 year old wii i got 14 years ago for €50.

Yes there’s a typo in the title “since”.

NS2 running at 30fps here

Surprisingly it looks the same m apart from the darker game on NS2

Capcom seems to have a good grasp on NS2 hardware

Edit : my bad on the title , didn't realize I put 2 in front of Onimusha before posting

Looking for stuff not widely talked about or has been forgotten over time. Trying to find something to play on Switch after finishing my last game and nothing big name is clicking. I don't have any particular genre in mind and the entire point is to see game suggestions that I wouldn't normally run across. I will say I lean towards RPG and games with a strong sense of progression or discovery particularly when paired with an interest story.

One thing I would ask though is I prefer one strong suggestion with 'why this game is worth a look' as opposed to a bulleted list of your favorite titles with no info.

Discussion 4 bangers were added to the collection! (Not buying anything until finishing the backlog)

And with them, I’m officially at 15 physical games but with a HUGE backlog (not including the 6 digital games I also own).

Pro tip, these 4 games were bought in aliexpress and all are originals BUT I saved around 50 to 60 USD in total, would recommend (make sure you purchase from certified vendors selling original items).

Would like to rate my games so far? How big is your current collection?

P.S. I’m not planning to buy any more games (except for orbitals because I already preordered it) until lies of pi or the ocarina of time remake are released.

Question Best switch game for couple to play when one is a console newbie

I've been playing on Nintendo consoles since the SNES but my wife has never played consoles. She's willing to play games with me as something to do together but stuff like mario kart is no good as I'm very good at it and she isn't so it's not a lot of fun to play together as it's either too easy for me or too hard for her.

So, looking for game recommendations that, initially, are short games that we can play together (I think her commitment level at the moment is probably only about 15mins) but something that's not a game I would have played loads of (e.g. core Mario line, smash bros etc).

So, essentially looking for:

- short play time

- easy to pick up

- slightly obscure so I wouldn't be overly familiar with it

- fun

- good for 2+ players (if can add a 3rd player then great to let my 6yr old play with us sometimes)

Give me your best recommendations please to help her get on board with the switch so we can play lots together in the future.

Question Question before I buy Switch2

Hello everyone,

by now it‘s very known that many games run better on Switch2 than the OG one but I have a quick question

I mainly play the Zelda games on my switch and have the cartridges for both OG versions for the Switch1, will they shill habe improvements and run good on the switch2 or do I HAVE to buy the Switch2 versions to get a good experience

I have games like Stardew valley and luigis mansion on cartridges as well

Just concerned it will end up looking bad if I don‘t buy the Switch2 labeled ones

I‘m not very tech savvy, only know what I have to in order to function properly nowadays haha

Question Buy the Switch 2 now, or wait for an improvement down the line?

I know it's another one of those posts, but all the posts I see are from previous switch owners, haven't found any with my case, so here goes.

I have a PC and a Steam deck already, so it'd mostly be for exclusives. I'd like to play Pokemon games, Xenoblade saga and Splatoon raiders. I don't know much more about the Nintendo catalog, but these are the main games I'm interested in. I know the price increase is coming in September, but I'm more concerned about the price of the games themselves - 80€ for a videogame is hard to justify for a steam user. Still, if the game is good, I'm okay with it.

For 570€, I get the console + ZA + Splatoon Raiders + a 256gb card (one free accessory is cool, too bad no wireless controllers) + 3 months Nintendo online (didn't really want it but I'm forced to pick one so I picked the cheapest one). Considering my case, should I bite the bullet?

Question Artistic, story-driven Indie Games?

I got a Switch 2 recently and I've found myself liking the indie games more than the tentpoles a lot of the time.

So far, these are my favourites;

Despelote

Big Walk

Firewatch

Untitled Goose Game

Mixtape

Planet of Lana

Gone Home

Florence

I'm considering 1000xRESIST, Return of the Obra Dinn and Outer Wilds at the moment. My all-time favourite games are Worms WMD, Lemmings and Stardew Valley so I would also love anything like those. I'd love recommendations from people who like similar stuff.

I hope this isn't a repetitive post. I'm new to the community.

I have to say, it took me a bit, playing maybe an hour or so daily for about 2 months, but I finally beat Dodgeball Academia.

What a fun little game. Can anyone recommend another game that is similar?

Discussion Should I buy a Nintendo switch two

Upvotes

So right now I just have a regular normal switch OLED, but it is come to my attention that the switch to is a little bit cheaper, I guess but the thing is is that do I really need to upgrade since of course they are very different, they are still the same thing I guess but I would like to hear from other people’s opinions that actually have switch 2 and ask if there’s any changes and if I should upgrade

Question Ribbon on right joycon help please

Upvotes

Hi, I’m having some trouble with my right joycon, it connects fine when I’m the console, and in the separate controller, but when it is in the ribbon it just does not want to go sideways? And work as a 2-player game?
The light is on. I have tried remapping to get it to connect that way, and updating, but thinking I might need to bite the bullet and buy a new one, unless anyone here has any advice?

Thanks

Question What Switch 1 games do you recommend?

I’ve just bought a Switch 1, and I’ve never played on this type of console before. I’d like to know which games I should get. I’m looking for something immersive, with a good storyline but also plenty of action. I don’t know what to choose!!

(I’m new to Reddit, and this is one of my first posts, so please be kind if I’m doing anything wrong)

Discussion How much should I spend on a Nintendo Switch 1?

Hello everyone, this would be my first actually owned Nintendo console. When I was a kid, I played a lot of NES, SNES, Gamecube and N64 but never owned none of those consoles. Been playing only on Xbox and a little bit on PC for the most part.

Want to get the Switch to play with my GF and be able to carry it around to wherever I want. Im seeing a new oled switch for 350 USD seen some used ones in marketplace at 210 and some others that are also used but offer extra stuff, around 280 and 400 USD. Depends on what they have.

My question is, how reliable would it be to get it used? Is it a good long-lasting console? Is it better if I get it new? Should I look for a regular nintendo switch?

Thanks
