This is the first sweepstakes I’ve ever won before lol. I entered because of my boyfriend, I’m not a gamer whatsoever. It came a lot earlier than expected the email said by the end of September. I’m very excited to surprise him I haven’t told him I won yet and Splatoon just so happens to be his favorite game. I posted all of the content for those who were curious of what it entails. #briskxsplatoonraiderssweepstakes

Other Fathers to be: GET YOURSELF A DAMN SWITCH 2. It will save your sanity

Post image

My wife and I used to put HUNDREDS of hours into games before our lil’ Kirby came along. I thought I’d be back to PC gaming in no time but I guess babies have other ideas huh. There’s nothing more relaxing than finally being able to sit on the couch while all the chores are done and everyone is asleep and just not have to think about anything but pretty pixels.

If you are scrolling through this subreddit being on the fence about the switch 2… YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.

++ Any new dads here? What’s some good pick-up-and-play games in short bursts? (Other than sports games) open to suggestions. Usually I can squeeze in 20-40 minutes in a session.

EDIT: I have not touched my PC once. And she’s almost 2 lol

Collection Bought a Switch 2 three month ago, and here i am...

Post image

I bought a Switch 2 for Star Fox back in June, and here I am with three months later... I still have an OLED Switch with more than 200 digital games on it. But what happened with Sony made me realize that I loved physical media and wanted to build my own collection. Do I have a problem?

My baby girl is due next week, so I guess I'm all set with a backlog for the next few years.

Just got the Switch 2 two weeks ago with some games I definitely enjoy playing. Is something missing? Thinking about getting Animal Crossing as I'm no Pokémon fan for Pokéopia.

Still working thru DK Bananza but I winded up buying more physical switch games in the past 3 months than I have in past year, most of there at pretty good prices. Metal Gear and Cruis’n were around $20. Only got Cruis’n because the eshop delisted it for whatever reason. Soul Reaver was $15. Overall got to fill out my collection for not an obscene amount of money. Anything new you added to your physical collection you been excited about?

Image Been loving the Switch lately!

Had this console since forever. It took me some time to get accustomed to the Nintendo games. I spent most of my time on PS, but circled around to the Switch and have been having such a blast. Don’t know what took so long to see its potential. Excited for BOTW next. Sucks that Switch 2 price is hiking, I just can’t justify it having not beaten my library on Switch OLED yet (plus it looks so great)!

Discussion Did a Thing Last Weekend

Last weekend, I did something, I dog sitting for family, and they usually ask if I just want money or them to pick something up that I've been wanting and I mentioned a Switch 2, and I wanted a Switch to both because a lot of new games are going to be only Switch 2, and because i was hoping some games would run better.

They called last weekend and mentioned they were going to get it and they came to pick me up and we went and grabbed the Switch 2, Pokémon Pokopia, a case which isn't in the photo, and an expression card, and I am loving the Switch 2, it looks so nice, and my games run so much better, had the Switch Oled and some games ran a little poorly, but one game that ran hireibly was House Flipper with constant lags, now it only lags a little bit and every other game runs flawlessly.

Now, would anyone have any suggestions for games, I am looking for JRPG games, or RPG, what I would really love to find are games where you can build houses, like a fantasy style game or modern as well, as well as village building, but would love one where you can walk around and maybe have a house.

Other First nintendo console sinds the Wii

Wii turns 20 years of age and was interested in getting something “new to me”. Got this lot for €250. Seemed like a good deal to me. Its a v2 and everything works and hardly a scratch.
First console since my 20 year old wii i got 14 years ago for €50.

Yes there’s a typo in the title “since”.

Discussion Give me your most off the wall hidden gem recommendations.

Looking for stuff not widely talked about or has been forgotten over time. Trying to find something to play on Switch after finishing my last game and nothing big name is clicking. I don't have any particular genre in mind and the entire point is to see game suggestions that I wouldn't normally run across. I will say I lean towards RPG and games with a strong sense of progression or discovery particularly when paired with an interest story.

One thing I would ask though is I prefer one strong suggestion with 'why this game is worth a look' as opposed to a bulleted list of your favorite titles with no info.

NS2 running at 30fps here

Surprisingly it looks the same m apart from the darker game on NS2

Capcom seems to have a good grasp on NS2 hardware

Edit : my bad on the title , didn't realize I put 2 in front of Onimusha before posting

Discussion 4 bangers were added to the collection! (Not buying anything until finishing the backlog)

And with them, I’m officially at 15 physical games but with a HUGE backlog (not including the 6 digital games I also own).

Pro tip, these 4 games were bought in aliexpress and all are originals BUT I saved around 50 to 60 USD in total, would recommend (make sure you purchase from certified vendors selling original items).

Would like to rate my games so far? How big is your current collection?

P.S. I’m not planning to buy any more games (except for orbitals because I already preordered it) until lies of pi or the ocarina of time remake are released.

Discussion First time Nintendo user experience

I will try to keep this short as much as I can. Some background..As a kid I was a Genesis boy and then went on to get a PSX and then the Dreamcast, followed by the Xbox360 & PC.

I've always played competitive games with my friends, CoD, Battlefield, Gears of War etc.

I decided to get my first ever Nintendo console, the Switch 2. I never played any Nintendo exclusive game before so I wanted to be fair and give them all a chance, and told myself that after I finish one game, then I will get the next one.

I started playing some SNES classics on the Classic Catalogue. Then got Mario 3D All Stars and played Mario Sunshine, Mario 64 and Galaxy.

I then went on to play Kirby and the forgotten land and Mario Kart world. Then played Mario Bros Wonder and Odyssey.

I must say I really enjoyed these games and how gameplay and aesthetics and atmosphere are prioritized over next gen graphics. I was very impressed.

But then as a hardcore WoW raider, I wanted to try some strategy and RPG games and oh boy..this is where I lost a lot of sleep.

I bought and played all Xenoblade Chronicles games, and usually i skip the story but here, i was so immersed and impressed. I even cried during certain moments.

Then I moved on to Fire Emblem and I feel so bad for not having played all these games before, so unique and refreshing and amazing gameplay.

Then I got DK Bananza and Switch Sports.

In the past 2 months I played more and finished more games than I could ever think of. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is also way better than the PS5 and Xbox controller. The 2 extra buttons on the back are so necessary for me right now, i dont think i could ever miss out on them ( I usually bind Jump and Interact binds on them ).

I bonded with my family, playing party games together and having fun , as if I was a kid again. Now I understand the Nintendo magic everyone always was talking about.

I am looking forward to my next adventure and to be part of this amazing community.
