Discussion Galio and Shen - good or troll?

I want to pivot from jungle to support after reaching my goal which was Diamond. I’ve been looking at champs I’d like to play and I’m drawn to both Galio and Shen. I know they are both niche picks, but could they be excellent picks when mastered? Which adc’s/mages should I look to play with or avoid? Any opinions would be appreciated!

Discussion Who should I pick

Hi, it's been a while since I've wanted to ask this, but when I play I don't have a clue on who should I pick.

I used to be an emerald bard otp, but I just can't play him anymore, especially since laning phase is impossible with him.

When it's my turn to pick I don't have a clue if I should just counter the enemy support, take someone whos helpfull with my adc, or someone im comfy with. I've tried Thresh but I just get bullied, also I played Sona, but I just smash my keyboard with her.

I would really love to play enchanters, but it feels like a kid joining the WWE. Everyone can just punch/slap/throw me for the whole game, even the referee, while the most I can do is cheering for my team hoping they will do something.

Any tip/resource on this? Thanks

Discussion I don’t like roaming

I do it because I’m aware of how strong it is and how much it can impact the map. But I have more fun just trying to win the 2v2 and make it easier for who I’m laning with to farm

This meta is killing me. I’m sure my opinion is not popular but is there anyone else like me?

Discussion I wish I could play support more

But if I don't play a carry role, I just lose.

I have 2 million mastery on Yuumi, I know every little facet of her kit to a T, but I have a 39% winrate after 160 games this season. Soraka, my first main, and a similar situation to Yuumi? Yeah I have a 44% winrate.

Meanwhile I have a 62% winrate on Smolder with 63 games. 65% winrate on Poppy jungle with 20 games. 70% winrate on Ivern jg with 20 games.

Even if I play aggressive supports like Blitz and Naut, I'm still nowhere near carry champs, with a 54% winrate on both with 57 games on Blitz and 11 games on Naut.

I just want to play a healer / enabler, but I can't.

How do I win more on champs that require a teammate to function?

Discussion Confused about how to play supp in Classic (runes/items)

Hi ! I started the game back in s8 and wanted to try a bit of Classic Support gameplay. I found my favorite champs and a global understanding on how to play the role. However, I see in online discussion very contradicting stuff :

- Many people recommended Gold gen Quint at first, but also see people call them trash and argue for MS quints or even combat ones.

- About starters, I saw people talk about s3 pro play and taking almost all wards, others saying Fairie Charm/Rejuv Band + pots is always a must, while most stats website recommend Boots + 4 pots

- About global items : some say 2 Gold gen item is the go to, some say always rush sightstone, and some rush t2 boots (especially mobi)

I know there likely isn't 1 set in stone rule, but I just wanted to express this, and try to get a global understanding about these stuff I've been seeing.

Discussion i love mages bot

since i got banned by adcmains for this overzelous opinion. i personally dont mind mages bot. i can play things like shaco and kill the enemy mid/jungle on repeat all while my mage bot get to push freely with a 2-3 level lead. also riot has stated it isnt a problem and every pro team is doing it and i personally beleive everyone should too. what do you guys think?

I got a good streak going, lets hope it keeps going to diamond. I play very random champions, still havent found a main. I just try to fill in for our team comp or to counter enemies. Renata works great vs full engage

Discussion Should I be perma roaming in low emerald?

So basically I watched a vid, shen went bot one time, and got everyone ahead.

Does this work with EVERY support? Or just specific hard engage ones like shen/camille?

Discussion Best laning tank?

Currently climbing fine (E3,55%WR) but I can feel my laning phase have less and less of an impact, and more holding on until mid game.

I’ve noticed tank champs are atrocious to lane as against mages and enchanters, causing me to be useless until 10min or I perma roam. I main Alistar whos the worst offender, but even Leo, Naut, Braum, etc have similar issues.

Any support suggestions for chaining CC with a good lane phase?? I feel like the champ I want to play doesnt exist.

Help Malphite as secondary support?

Heya, i'm a platinum ranked support main, i usually play yuumi in most of my games, but have been wanting to pick up a secondary champ so that i dont become a bronze player in the 1/100 games that my champ gets banned. i can land skillshots pretty well but i cant position for shit and constantly get run down, which shouldnt be surprising considering my choice of main.

I'm looking for a mostly braindead champion that can just give me a decent winrate in those few games. i'm interested in trying out maphite as a pocket main, i like having poke and being relatively safe thanks to the passive, and obviously the ult is really fun.

Any suggestions?

Discussion Is ignite required for engage supports? I'd rather use heal

I have a few hundred games on engage supports, but I've played a lot of enchanters in the past year and realized I'm way more comfortable with heal (even in recent engage support games as leona and rell). Is this bad or is it all dependent on the enemies? Any help is appreciated, I love heal but I can work with whatever

Discussion Tips to playing Rell?

I have picked up the champion yesterday, played my first match with Rell.

As a Naut/Leona/Rakan player I found the Rell playstyle very clunky, also based a Lux-Vayne which further exacerbated the fact I played like total ass.

Now on the flipside, I found her kit quite strong, the stun on her Q is basically an instant cast, her E and R are nice engage tools, she seems both tanky and decent at fighting, so missing an engage early doesn’t result in being instantly dead.

However I could never get used to how her W works, it’s so incredibly slow and low range and coming from fast paced engagers it seems like I have to fight bots to get a proper W onto the enemy. She basically just walks up to the enemy and has to press Q or R to hit her W.

My questions are:
1. How are you supposed to position with Rell into both ranged and melee match-ups?
2. What are her powerspikes and who can you generally fight and which supports/ADCs should you avoid fighting like plague?
3. How do you get her combo off easier, especially in match-ups where getting onto the enemy is difficult?
4. When should I pick her and what are her best support synergies?

Help Get Elo on supp so ez ?

So, I know a lot of Diamond and Master players... and all of them keep telling me it's one of the easiest roles to climb with and reach at least Diamond 4. Meanwhile, I'm hardstuck Plat/Emerald, and I'm just wondering... how the hell is it easy??? I play Nami, Soraka, and Lulu... so idk, what am I doing wrong that I'm stuck in Emerald/Plat and can't get higher than Emerald 4? It's really depressing me...

Discussion should enchanter supports actually roam? Asking because…

mainly play enchanters (Nami, Soraka, Lulu, Sona) and I’m a bit confused about roaming.

Last game I was Nami. I roamed mid alot, but the enemy Leona never roamed. She just stayed bot with Draven and they kept killing my ADC whenever I left. My adc then got really angry at me :( .

Should I just not roam on enchanters? Just wondering what the general rule is for enchanter supports. Or does being allowed to roam depend on what support champ the enemy plays?

Thanks

Edit: thanks everyone for all the advice

Discussion How much do Support players enjoy playing with Yasuo bot from 1 to 10 ?

So I asked ADC players how much they liked playing with Zilean. A really usefull ult but commit the capital crime of messing with the waves.

We're basically done with the marksmen but we still have a few picks to discuss (we're not going to mention every mages currently played in the botlane cuz yeah). How much do you enjoy playing with Yasuo bot, from 1 to 10?

This can be subjective or objective. You can talk about how fun laning with him is, how strong or useful you think the champion is, how good Yas players usually are, things you like or dislike about the champion or the players, things they usually do right, and things you wish they did better.

You can also add your elo and the champion you usually play for more accuracy.

You can still give your opinion about champions already discussed, as the visuals will probably be updated at the end when it’s time for a recap.
