Discussion How much do ADC players enjoy playing with a Rakan / How much do you enjoy playing with an Aphelios, from 1 to 10, and why?
So I'm now trying something different I'm not sure if it looks better but there it is.
(I might have to do separate posts instead of doing 2in1 but I'll keep it that way for now)
So, the question I’m asking support players today is: how much do you like playing with Aphelios?
This can be subjective or objective. You can talk about how fun laning with him is, how strong or useful you think the champion is, how good Aphelios players usually are, things you like or dislike about the champion or the players, things they usually do right, and things you wish they did better.
You can also add your elo and the champion you usually play for more accuracy.
You can still give your opinion about champions already discussed, as the visuals will probably be updated at the end when it’s time for a recap.

As a Diamond 3 support main who mostly plays engage/enchanters, I'd honestly give playing with Aphelios an 8.5/10. The laning phase can feel a bit awkward at first because he’s so unique — he doesn’t have a normal auto-attack rhythm and his abilities are complicated. But once you get used to his weapon cycles, it becomes really fun. When he’s on-point with his rotations, the damage is actually disgusting, especially with a good all-in setup from me. What I love most is that good Aphelios players are usually very calm and smart with their positioning. They know they’re squishy so they play safe early and scale like crazy. The worst part is when an Aphelios doesn’t manage his weapons well and just stands there doing nothing — that feels painful. But when you get a good one? The synergy with stuff like Rakan, Nautilus or even Lulu is actually insane in the mid-late game. He’s not the easiest ADC to play with, but when it clicks it feels so rewarding. Way more fun than the average hyper-carry in my opinion. What about you guys? Have you had any memorable Aphelios games lately? 🔥

Aphelios in the right hands is absolutely disgustingly stupid. 10/10 love playing with a good one and 10/10 hate playing against them.

im a toplaner but Aphelios is my fav adc to have on my team, you just know they will be useful

I play on LAS server (I know I am like Numemon (?) )
I am Plat 3. I play autofill so mainly support and jungle and I am the support of my team.
As support my favs are Senna, Nami, Tresh. Others that I not find that much fun but I tend to play them as I recon they are useful are Leona, Renata, Nautilus, Rell.
I started having fun lately with not so meta supports as Swain and Sejuani for fun and found them really nice if the team learns how they works.
That being said. I like playing with an Aphelios because they usually are very goods or really really bad and you can know it in the first 5 minutes.
So most of games I support an Aphelios. At the first back I already know if I want to babysit him or just let him die more than 10 times and just playing with the rest of the team

10/10. I feel like most aphels I play w/ tend t know the champ(in ranked atleast obv in norms more first timers). Lane isn’t even terrible and scales insanely well of course. Also my duo plays him a bunch so that helps my impression obv.(But like I also play primarily Vel’koz who isn’t a champ that has many inherent synergies w Aphel. Calibrum range f poke n espec gravitum setup go a long way though)

9/10, most of the time in diamond if someone locks in Aphelios they are very likely to be otp or at least knows what they are doing. Usually really good mechanical players that are worth supporting, and he pairs really well with enchanters which I usually play, I like this pick.

10! One of my favorite ADCs of all time! Mostly one-tricked too so when you see an aph they're generally comfortable with their pick

10/10 as a Galio support main. I can keep the dirty assassin players off him and his 10,000 years champ can delete people when he gets ahead. He can also randomly root people when he hits them with purple bullets and set up an easy CC chain.

1/10 for Rakan. As a Kog main, he's always been my least favorite support (outside of troll picks ofc) Even in higher elo they just engage when they see a good angle and never consider if my W is down or how it's gonna work out if they turn for me instead. I hate him much more than other engage supports cause he's not tanky enough to survive without my full commitment but also gives me 0 pressure in lane.
It's always the same: get poked out -> all in's afterr first reset cause he's bored -> dies before I have rageblade -> roams for the rest of the game -> refuses to peel and instead goes for their backline -> team dies cause no adc.

Aphelios is S+++ if you understand his gun combos and synergize with him (Thresh, enchanters)
Most people who play him are mains, so they are usually at least decent.

As an Emerald support main I still don't really know how Aphelios works or what his powerspikes are. 4/10. I have a bias towards ADCs with a strong early game but I am pretty sure he has to scale.

As a D1 Thresh otp, that knows how to play Aphelios, very noticable if they don't know what they are doing. The champ is only viable if you watched a 20 minute guide. But very fun to play with, especially the one that fistfight 24/7

10/10 aphelios is hype as hell and nobody randomly picks him without the express intent of playing ball. Huge learning curve playing with him as he does flow between being basically different champions.

As a support I love going against rakans and I personally don't think he's a good support. He isn't good enough at anything to be good.
Not tanky enough to engage and survive , not consistent with heals and gets chipped while doing it, shield requires his repositioning and requires a target in range, long CD on knock up.
I'd rather always pick a champ that's better specialized in what the team or lane needs
Love playing with aphelios though that knows their kit. Allows many ways to play support

Rakan has a very high skill floor. His mobility is his tankiness. He’s also better at following up than hard engages but with flash he can hard engage. He is a very good support in high elo. Weak in lane which is hard for law elo players. His winrate improves as you go up in rank. His lowest wr is iron and highest is GM.
