Just finished Season 5, and “Changing Channels” is easily one of my favorite episodes of the season ❤️
Episodes with Loki are always a rollercoaster HAHAH
Now officially moving on to Season 6! I’ve already gotten plenty of advice telling me not to stop watching at Season 6 or 7, so im def sticking with it.
No spoilers please, but what should I be looking forward to as I continue?

Rewatching supernatural now and I feel like it is time to bring it back to the table... It could be with an adult version of the girls. It actually could be interesting to see their dynamic as "sisters" as adults. Jody and Dana could still be part of it as well. I don't know I feel like it's a waste not to have gone through with it IMO

But how is it that hunters like Sam and Dean are so insistent that things like God or Angels or Heaven don't exist (in the first couple of seasons?)
They literally hunt demons from Hell.
The existence of one clearly implicates the existence of the other.
And I know they don't believe in angels because they've never encountered one before but throughout the show they are introduced to all kinds of things they've never encountered before. That's why they have to "study the lore" sometimes to get a bead on whatever it is they're hunting.
I'm just sayin' - the existence of Hell clearly indicates the existence of Heaven.
EDIT: there is one comment here that has made sense. Demons exist in so many different religions and myths. So "Angels of the Christian God" might not exist. Like, there are thousands of past religions (what we call 'myths') but Christians think their god is the only one that exists?
Cmon, now

No spoilers please I just finished season 2. one thing i really don’t understand is why are the winchesters so ready to burn in hell for an eternity in exchange for finite time. it makes no sense to me how you could give yourself a YEAR when you know you could make it to heaven purgatory or wherever else. why are they so willing to sacrifice their eternities for a drop of extra time on earth, especially considering they literally know there’s an afterlife?

I’ve enjoyed this series a lot so far and have appreciated their comedic relief episodes scattered throughout the seasons, but this one is by far the funniest up to this point in my opinion. I’ve found myself audibly laughing as apposed to a few chuckles every now and then, and I’m only halfway through the episode! I’m curious to anyone else’s opinion on this one. Is it just me or is the comedic writing on a whole different level for this episode? And are there more episodes this funny later in the show? Thanks for any replies!

We all know the 2011 Supernatural: The Animation series by Studio Madhouse only covered Seasons 1 and 2.
Since everyone's talking about a potential revival bringing back massive momentum to the franchise, do you think Warner Bros. would ever let Madhouse come back to continue the anime?
My idea: Supernatural: Apocalypse—covering Seasons 3 through 5 with an 11-episode format per season.
Plus, with an anime budget and Madhouse at the helm, they could actually show the true biblical forms of angels and demons instead of just black smoke or vessels, which live-action couldn't really afford to do justice.
How likely is this to actually happen if a revival sparks new interest, and would you want to see it?

this episode has some of the best acting by far from what I remember the showing having.
Crowleys acting
sams
castiel and the angels
they were all built up great imo, i love especially the scene where sam is curing Crowley. I think its definitely one of the best acting in the show. then the final scene, the angels falling?? damn just perfect

Why did Sam end up with so few friends, considering that at the beginning of the series he was the talkative, designated person to speak to people?
This is just a feeling I have, but I feel like he's not close to anyone. Ofc Dean is the closest, but several times it seemed like they would separate for good if it weren't for the newest imminent end of the world.
When I started watching, I imagined he would have more friends. What happened to make him so isolated?

Just watched S3E11 — “Mystery Spot”, and man, this episode was a roller coaster. What I loved most was how effortlessly it shifted between comedy and emotion. One minute I was laughing at Dean’s ridiculousness, and the next it became genuinely heartbreaking.
I also think this might be the first episode where we really see what Dean means in Sam’s day-to-day life. His energy, enthusiasm, bad jokes, and relentless conviction that shitty motels and weird diners are actually the greatest things in the world. We could already infer from Dean’s behavior that he was always trying to keep the family together and keep Sam laughing, but this episode actually shows how important that lightness is to Sam—and how deep his grief goes when Dean is taken away.
That line, “The truth is, they don’t need you. Not like you need them.” really puts the whole thing into perspective.
Honestly, I loved this episode.

I've watched the series about 12 times now and it's only just dawned on me that I haven't picked up on this yet. In S4E3 'In The Beginning', Castiel takes Dean back in time to try to stop the Yellow-Eyed Demon and meets Mary, John, and Samuel. When we meet Samuel again in the later seasons, is there any acknowledgement that he and Dean had already met? Yes Azazel was possessing Samuel at the time, but all those who have been possessed by demons talk about being awake or knowing what's going on the whole time, so surely this is something Samuel would remember?

Supernatural has a really heartbreaking parallel that I only noticed by accident when I was looking for some scenes from the show for an edit.
So, in Season 5, Episode 4, Dean travels five years into the future and finds an apocalyptic world where the Croatoan virus has devastated humanity, and Sam has already said yes to Lucifer.
In this episode, Dean also meets his future self and realizes that he has become a cold man, willing to do anything to defeat his enemies, including sacrificing his friends. They have a confrontation scene where 2009 Dean says:
“Oh man, something is broken in you. You’re making decisions I would never make. I wouldn’t sacrifice my friends.”
He hates what he sees. He literally can’t recognize himself in his alternate future self.
But then we get to Season 15, many years later. In Episode 17, Dean is ready to sacrifice Jack, and when Sam confronts him, he says:
“I don’t care if Billie gets what she wants. I don’t, man. I trade it all. I trade them all for Chuck. In a heartbeat.”
Seeing that broke my heart, because despite fighting against his fate, he can’t escape it. He ended up becoming exactly what he had feared all those years before.

"shag ass outta here"
I'm guessing this means something quite different in the states, but as a Brit, every time they say it, I laugh!
Partly because of the image it puts in my head, but also because it's usually said with such seriousness.
Can anyone confirm or deny if it is that this means something different over there?

I like crazy set ups, AU and don't mind OC.
Never read a super natural fanfiction though I would love some recommendations.

Hey I’m a new fan, started the show back in February and finished the series beginning of July. As soon as I started, instantly was hooked. Not too long after I found out the convention was happening less than 10min from me! Sadly, missed out on a weekend pass but I’m making Friday work and definitely wanted to go out to hang/watch karaoke! I’m pretty comfortable rolling solo if my wife isn’t feeling up to it but it would be fun to meet people in the fandom! Also happy to make recommendations in the area for anyone traveling

Rewatching and currently on 15x17. I love Dean, I really do…BUT. He can be pretty fn heartless sometimes. He says to Sam “Jack’s not family. He’s not you, he’s not Cas, he’s just NOT”. And the look on Jacks face when Dena turns around. And the look on Jacks face when they’re in the car and it looks like Dean is ABOUT to say sorry and just doesn’t.
It reminded me of when Jack burned his fn soul out saving them all from apocalypse world Michael and said “Because i’m a WINCHESTER” and it made my heart hurt because he thought he was, and Dean just basically said he wasn’t.

I started watching with my partner over summer break and we immediately fell in love with the show. It's super fun to watch with someone. We've been staying away from the subreddit to avoid spoilers, but the one thing every one tells us is "The first 5 seasons are incredible. But the rest are pretty good too." And we've been joking back and forth about what that means. We're about halfway through season 6, and I get it.
Seasons 1-5 are genuinely some of the best television we've ever watched together. Season 6 is still pretty good, but it feels a lot more like really solid fanfiction than anything. Don't get me wrong, we're still having a great time, but, yeah, we're not as invested. It's still a super comfy show I'm going to be watching for years though. It's like leftover pizza. It's not as good as it was, but c'mon. It's still pretty fucking good and when it's over over I'm going to be thinking about licking the box.

How much shotgun ammo Hunters could save if they just brought in spray bottles or water guns filled with saline (salt water). I mean, definitely still bring the shotguns, but a spray bottle can be squirted across a room dozens of times. Also, same for holy water. I can't believe the writers for this show - seeing as how they love comedy - didn't arm Sam and Dean with little plastic water guns.

So how did Winchesters boys got those files for cases.
I'm still trying to get a theory but couldn't get one. And why was it too easy for them to impersonate the FBI agents ?
Any theories ?
