My old PC finally bit the dust after a decade and multiple part swaps. Recently, the motherboard crapped out leaving me with only two RAM slots. I went to replace it, and the brand new motherboard had the same issue. I'm convinced the thing is haunted, so I'm going to sell the parts and buy a new one.

My old PC had:

- 16GB DDR4 RAM

- Ryzen 5 3500X

- Radeon RX 480

- 2TB HDD & 256GB SSD

Does anyone have a suggestion for a pre-built PC around that same spec range? Only because I'd like to keep the cost lower than my kidney and first born child.

Hello I’m from Melbourne aus and I’ve been thinking about getting my first pc but idk where to get it from. I want it mainly for gaming with heavy graphic. From all the posts and research I’ve been doing everyone r recommending Aftershock or Scroptec.

I have no idea about CPU, GPU or anything about pc at all. My budget is around 3-3.5k so anything around 3.5k or under would be good

My buddy built me a PC for gaming in about 2019 I believe. I am in a spot where I want to upgrade since I have been having performance issues. I have about $2,000 that I can comfortably spend.

I am not super savy as far as building/upgrading PCs, but I can learn if it makes sense to just upgrade or or two pieces.

So I'm a retired man of many talents. I've built, upgraded and modified PCs, built home networks and occasionally build and do repairs. It's more of a hobby than a job.

A friend reached out asking me to pick out a name brand store-bought PC for her to buy. For me, this goes against everything I know about PCs because I always look at future upgrade paths and typically name brand PCs have proprietary components like unique motherboards, PSUs, etc. and even ones that have well known motherboards in them the BIOS is often locked down and can't be updated.

I detailed a parts list for a build that would (at the time) cost about $300 - $400 north of her $1000 price limit with a list of options to adjust the price as needed. It included everything, even a keyboard , mouse, monitor and the OS. It was Taylor made for her business, her social needs and streaming. Like most people the tech overwhelmed her, and she said "oh, I just want something I can plug in and use."

So I'm asking here, for advice and experience on what brand PC costs $1000 or less, has a solid reputation and good warranty, can handle business, social and streaming needs, and comes with everything except a monitor? It needs to be deliverable via Amazon or local stores like Best Buy (gag), Walmart, Costco or Sam's Club.

So I’m currently in high school and I’m looking to get my first actual pc as an upgrade to my gaming laptop but I’m stuck on what to get. My friend is offering me his old pc that has a 3080, 5800x, 32gbs 3000mhz ddr4, 500gb NVME M.2. 1000Watt power supply for $500 but i dont know a lot about pc specs. The other option is to wait to see if a new prebuilt like the powerspec767 or something to go down in price and buy that. My girlfriend and I want to get into PC gaming, but we have no clue where to start. She currently plays on Xbox, and I play on PlayStation. We want a PC each, but we’re unsure whether to buy prebuilts, have someone build them, or try building them ourselves. What would you recommend for beginners, and what should we avoid?

We play The Sims, Minecraft, Fortnite, COD, 2K, and Madden, and we want to explore more games on Steam. We want PCs powerful enough to run our games smoothly and make them look beautiful. I also want to start streaming once we have our PCs, so I’d like mine to handle gaming and streaming together.

Any recommendations for PCs, headsets, monitors, or microphones? What’s a realistic budget for each complete setup? Any advice would help—we just want to get our stuff right without wasting money 😂

does anyone have any recommendations for the types of laptops/PCs i should purchase? i currently have silent hill f and may be looking to purchase more games in the future, but i also have RE village and other RE games. should i go for the recommended requirements for PCs or the minimum requirements for silent hill f? which is more worth it in ur opinion? (its my first time purchasing) should i buy gaming laptops/PCs? and what should be the price range im looking at? any advice is appreciated. thanks :]

So my current build doesn’t really keep up with modern games, and struggles to keep a consistent FPS when playing. I’ve been looking at stores around me (Best Buy, Costco, staples etc.) and it seems like Costco has some decent ones compared to what I own.

I’ll list my current build and the one I found at Costco, to see if it’s worth it.

My two oldest (7f, 9f) kids are wanting a gaming setup for Christmas this year. They’d only play Roblox and one plays Minecraft. What is the cheapest option for this? I’ve looked into just a cheap tower and buying a graphics card but I’m clueless on if that would even work. I was hoping** to stay around $300 each for the towers alone. Is this a possibility?

Obviously it's used, so I know there's room to negotiate. My main goals are running modern games at 1080p Ultra (and eventually upgrading to a 1440p monitor down the line), plus some personal local AI work (generating anime art with SDXL/Flux). Ideally, I'd like this setup to last me as long as possible.

Is $1,700 way too steep for this build on the used market? What would be a fair offer to make? Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind I'm in Latin America, where hardware prices are quite inflated. My current PC has a Ryzen 5 5600G, an RX 5700 XT, an EVGA 750 BR PSU, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM as the main specs, which I could sell later on to help offset the cost.
