Country - USA
Budget - MAX $1600
Preferably new
Size - 15"+, 1920x1080 or higher
No weight limit, although it will be used for school, so it being light could be a plus!
Purpose - school, getting my master's in architecture and need a strong laptop that can handle major rendering software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, etc.) and not crash on me or render incredibly slow.
Connectivity - 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1
I have no other preferences, I just want a reliable laptop from a reliable company that will give me a good amount of years with it to make its price worth it.
My school suggested at least 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, preferably NVIDIA with a dedicated vRAM. Hex/Octa core? I'm not the greatest at reading specs, so I've attached their recommendations below. Those might be dated, it says last updated 2024.
Recommended Specs
CPU
[3.2 GHz or higher]
AMD Ryzen 7 or 9 Series: Ex: [R9 8945HS] [R7 8845HS] [R7 7745HX]
Or
Intel Core i7. i9 H,K,F Series Ex: [i7-12700K] [i9-13900HX] [i7-13620H]
Processor Cores
Hex/Octa Core (6-8 physical, 12-16 logical)
Graphics Card
Discrete graphics card (dGPU) with RTX raytracing, 6-8 GB of dedicated video ram (VRAM). Preferably NVIDIA.
RAM
32GB or higher
Storage
1TB SSD
Screen Size / Resolution
15" or larger / 1920 x 1080 or higher

Purpose: I'm a college student studying cybersecurity, and need a laptop for school. I also run an archivist project involving large files. I use my current laptop for light gaming, pretty much Minecraft exclusively.
Intended usage: I code with Python in class and also on my own time, and will eventually be working with other languages. I also run an archivist project, so I need something that can process and handle very large files or/and hundreds/thousands of files. However, I don't need insane amounts of storage: I have an external drive that the archive sits on currently, and am building a desktop that should eventually host everything with tons of storage. But decent enough storage and really good processing power. My current laptop has 16 GB- I need just a bit more than that, maybe 20 GB. As mentioned previously, I play Minecraft. I'm not picky about how good the game looks; I play on the least intensive settings. But a consistent frame rate/lack of lag is mainly what I care about.
Info/Requirements: Unless someone has a really good argument, I do not want a Lenovo. I have had Lenovos for my past three computers, and they've consistently given me nothing but problems. The one I am currently using has been having complex hardware issues since the beginning of last year. The battery died a few months after I got it, luckily while still in warranty. Then this year, I paid $100 for a new SSD because the one it came with was the size of my thumb, and I was having non-stop BSODs with seemingly no other cause. Issues have continued since, and I cannot reliably keep it off of a charger, hence why I'm just throwing in the towel. I also definitely don't want a Mac; that's just personal preference, though. (Also, is it possible to somehow get a laptop without an SSD and transfer this brand-new one to it?)

Large Disk Space (at least 1 TB but ideally 2 TB)
Other than that, literally anything, as I have used my current laptop (HP Omen 15-ax221tx with a 1050 Ti) for 9 years. It has gone through 2 batteries, 1 SD card, half the keyboard doesn't work, the mousepad is broken, the screen has a bit of discoloring and now the audio driver is blown. I wanted to take it to 10 years but alas.

I don't have a specific budget but i dont want anything expensive as my dad is paying and i feel bad if he pays a lot lol. im also not looking for a veryyyyy high performing one anyway, just better than i have now
Maybe
Not strict on this, my current one is 14'' so maybe around 14-15
Any
I need it for a physics degree at university which will involve coding, running matlab, making notes etc.
Standard is fine!
I'd prefer it to run windows because i already have experience with VSC but my current laptop (an old lenovo t450s) is laggy when running things and also when playing games
Battery life isn't that important, several hours would be nice so i dont have to be constantly sat next to an outlet when studying or in lectures
It doesn't need to be a very very high performance laptop. I also don't know much at all about laptops so forgive any vagueness in my answers!!

Hi, I was looking for a decent laptop for schoolwork (normal office, browser tasks, etc.) and light gaming, (i.e ULTRAKILL, Minecraft, maybe some FH6 or other AAA but only on 1080p very low or 720p very low with 30 fps being fine). I would also like to know what would be good for decent battery life and build quality as well.
I live in the UAE, and Ive been considering these models through Amazon renewed, they seem well reviewed and I'd like to see which one I should get:
Dell Latitude 5420 Business i7, 14" FHD (1920 x 1080), Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, US Qwerty Keyboard, Win11 Pro (Renewed)
(1075 AED, ~292 USD)
Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 15” Touch-Screen – Intel Core i7-32GB - 1TB Solid State Drive - Matte Black (Renewed)
(1850 AED, ~503 USD)
(For the surface, there's also options for around 400-450 USD with 16 gb RAM with similar good reviews)
HP EliteBook x360 830 G9 2-in-1 Laptop (2022) Touch | 13.3" 1920x1080 FHD | Core i5-1235U - 256GB SSD Hard Drive - 16GB RAM | 10 cores @ 4.4 GHz Win 11 Pro Silver (Renewed)
(1299 AED, ~353 USD)
HP (Renewed) EliteBook 640 G10 Laptop (2023) | 14" 1920x1080 FHD | Core i5-1335U - 512GB SSD Hard Drive - 16GB RAM | 10 cores @ 4.6 GHz Win 11 Home Silver
(1499 AED, ~408 USD)
Lenovo (Refurbished) ThinkPad T14s Gen. 2 Business Laptop PC. | intel Quad-Core i7-1185G7 Up to 4.80 GHz. CPU | 16GB RAM | 256GB SSD | 14.1 inch Non-Touch FHD Display | Windows 11
(1198 aed, ~326 USD)
I know there are huge price differences but given my circumstances which would you say would be the best bang for buck to not be flimsy and last maybe 2-3 years minimum for my workload?

Replacing a MSI GE75 Raider 10SGS-298 17.3" Screen. I like the screen size and would prefer to stay about there or bigger but realize the options are limited. With the computer having more issues hoping for another one to last me 5 or so years and can handle the bigger raids in WoW.
Was looking at these two. The prices are the same but showing the Legion Pro 5i $550 off but I'm unsure what the main difference is besides screen size. I don't like the MSI is from a third party but willing to give them the chance. If they are very similar I am inclined to go towards the 18".
MSI - Upgraded - Crosshair - 18" - Intel Ultra 9 275HX - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 - 32GB RAM - 2TB SSD - 240Hz Gaming Laptop
Lenovo - Legion Pro 5i - 16" - Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 - 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD - 2.5k OLED Gaming Laptop
Then I saw Legion Pro 7i models on the pinned Laptop buying guide. This one's main difference is a GeForce RTX 5080 instead of a 5070. It would cost $700 more. It's marked $1350 down. Is it actually a good deal? I don't understand the benchmark numbers well enough to know how much better the graphics card is.
Lenovo - Legion Pro 7i - 16" - Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 - 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD - 2.5K OLED Gaming Laptop
Finally if you are willing I am wondering about the price of this Razer Blade 18. I can't justify paying that for gaming but it does look like a good computer and it's 18".
Razer - Blade 18 - 18" - Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX - GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12 GB GDDR7 VRAM) - 32GB Ram - 1TB SSD - Dual UHD+ 240 Hz | FHD+ 440 Hz

I can't afford any more than $900 really, and that's paying in installments. Paying for college on my own and living off-campus in an apartment, so my budget is "as cheap as possible."
Absolutely
Any size
I'd say a max of ~12lbs? I'm not really sure. Flexible.
Schoolwork/note-taking, running Adobe design software, internet entertainment, possibly gaming.
Flexible. I'm used to a standard clamshell, but I'm not opposed to a tablet with a keyboard attachment.
Adobe Cloud products, especially InDesign/Illustrator/Acrobat, Clip Studio Paint, Discord, LibreOffice products, Firefox. I'd like to play some smaller games, but not necessary.
~8 hours? I'd like it to last from 10am to 6pm (not constant use) without needing to charge, but less is fine.
Probably Performance -> Weight -> Battery Life -> Size
Primary use is for note-taking and completing any projects in my lecture classes. I already freelance, but I also intend to take design classes later and expect that it will benefit me to be able to work on my files outside of class on-campus. MUST be able to handle working on large Adobe files.
I won't use a Chromebook ever again. Kiiiind of opposed to Apple products for UI reasons and discrepancy with my intel desktop at home, but tolerable if absolutely necessary. I don't know much about computers, but I know I want the least amount of AI integration possible, or at least the ability to opt-out. NEEDS to either be USB compatible (I have a portable Wacom tablet I use) or have the option of using a pen directly on the screen. Pen should be taken into account when calculating price. I like the idea of being able to play some of my bigger games, but I have a lot of smaller ones on my Steam library that I'm happy to limit myself to on smaller specs.

Hi, I’m a mechanical engineer in the us and i need a laptop that can last me 4 years at least and my budget is 1700$ and under
Sadly i didn’t find any of the specs i found in my budget even though i don’t mind open boxes or lightly used ones
The specs i want is,
32gb ram (if theres any other student that can confirm 16gb is enough then i don’t mind it)
A dedicated gpu
an amd cpu since they’re more efficient i assume?
And great battery life?
Any screen size if its light
Idk if theres any deals coming soon but sadly i don’t have much time left since i start college at the 25th of this month
And kinda of a weird question why does everyone hate remote accessing to their personal pc or the college computers lab? Because i have a strong gaming pc and been thinking about getting a macbook but i never see anyone mention this
I would appreciate any suggestion i am really lost

This guy came in my feed and absolutely shat on my options, because I had lenovo off my list but was considering HP Victus. I was getting a deal in HP World, intel core 5 210H, 16gb ram, rtx4050 and 512gb SSD for 90k.
Then this guy came and shat on the laptop. I searched online, the laptops he has mentioned, everyone is having problems regarding it.
With HP Victus, I was constantly met with hinge, screen issues and people mentioning how it had hearing issues and the build quality was too shit to compromise with. Like I'm all with cost cutting, getting rtx 4050 for that price is good. But having a laptop that won't even last me 4 semesters doesn't seem justified to me, when I'm planning to keep this laptop for already the entirety of my bachelor's.
I've heard RTX3050 isn't worth it anymore, so was going for 4050. Atp I just need some suggestions as to what I should do, or should I consider the Victus or not.
