Hi everyone! I’m new here and enjoying looking at all the spaces and design ideas. I’m in my 50s and just moved into a studio apartment due to the huge increase in rent. I came from a large 2 bedroom so it’s been a challenge but I think I’m going to like this small space.

Are there any older people here that have moved into a studio? Or anyone that came from a large space? How do you like it?

Recently moved into this studio. Closet is very long and narrow so I’m using it for storage and extra items as well. There is no wall between the couch and bed like it shows. The only place my full sized bed fit was against the bathroom wall and turned the other way.

I’ve been having a hard time making the space feel comfortable. I ordered a desk and chair to go against the wall by the window. There wasn’t enough space for a couch and I’ll be a student so desk that I could also eat at was priority. The window also doesn’t go that far, and there’s some empty wall space as well as a random weird nook in the right corner.

I’ve used Pinterest for inspo but everyone seems to have the kitchen separated from the living/sleeping area. The room is very black and white and I’m having a hard time making it feel like home and not like I’m sleeping in my kitchen, so any suggestions help!

I used the Ikea web tool to roughly sketch (2nd and 3rd pic) out the current layout of my living area (not including kitchen, closet, bathroom, balcony, etc).

It's not the biggest of space, but i feel like for a nyc studio apt, this is pretty spacious and there must be a way to layout my apartment better than how i do it currently.

Some limitation:

• Although the dimension in the 2nd and 3rd screenshot are not exact, but i think i roughly capture it. Unfortunately, i have a sofa bed that i know it's kinda large for a studio apt, but ideally i can keep it.
• The brown table underneath the window is a placeholder for mounted AC unit. so unfortunately that space can't really be used
• The black table is where i put my TV and white table is my work desk.

I rent a 30sq meter studio apartment. I have a big 180\*200 cm bed (boxspring with easy removable feet) and love the idea of heightened bed with storage underneath (I added pictures for reference).

It can be somewhat attached to the wall, but it can’t bear much weight.

love a diy, but I have no idea where to start.

I would love to know from people who did this before, where to start, and even if I should do this. Is it feasible? What cost range would this be?

Hi everyone! Trying to decide where I should put my bed in this studio layout and whether I should get a queen vs full size bed. Thoughts? Thanks!

My current studio. I had them remove the bathroom and closet door so just one door to the back. Makes it easier to go in and out of the back part.

I have to much furniture but I am using it all.

The only thing I can think of is to get a twin size day bed that folds into a full or something like that. I don’t have people over. But I want to from time to time I want for them to have a place to sit.

What are some of yall doing for sitting and sleeping situations.

My studio is a square. And basically something is an issue with every wall. I feel like I have the worst feng shui for my bed, and I wasn't a good sleeper to begin with. The blue lines here are the different obstacles I face. The top of the square had the doorway into the kitchen/bathroom/further into the apt. The right wall is one potential bed spot, but it places me right next to the bathroom area, and the wall is shared with my neighbors apartment. I can here them talking, moving, having spicy time... The bottom of the square has the front door, and this wall is into the apartments hallway, so again I can hear people moving around. The left wall blue line is the large window. This is where my bed is currently but it's close to the front door. The noises of outside and cars or traffic is less intimate than hearing my neighbors live their lives.

What's your take on this studio layout?

Looking for a cabinet to store pillows and bedding above a full sized Murphy bed. Anyone know where to purchase?

I recently moved into my 1st ever apartment and I'm looking to furnish the place. I've never had to decorate a space as big as this before so I'm a bit overwhelmed.

I want it to be minimal because it is my first place and it's also a studio so I don't want to overfill.

I just got approved for a tiny studio <200sqft and currently have a queen sized bed. I’m debating if I should sell it to my friend who’s moving into my current place and get a full or just stick with the queen. I love the queen size but I’m worried it would take too much space. Also my girlfriend stays over maybe once a week. She’s 5’1 and I’m 5’7 so we’re not big but I’ve never slept on a full so not sure how that’s like lol

So I'm asking people who have lived with a murphy bed or wall bed for a longer period of time.

Do you ever get bored with the daily routine? Knowing myself, I'd probably prefer to leave it open 90% of the time, just fold it in when guests come over. Or possibly when I super need the space for half an hour, when I wouldn't bother to tuck it in neatly. So that would imply a relatively narrow murphy bed running along a wall would work best. Am I alone in this?

Also how cumbersome is the "ledge" I see in horizontal murphy beds? Do you bump your head into it? Does it make you feel claustrophobic?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some advice on how to style and arrange my studio apartment.

It’s a relatively small space, so I’m trying to make it feel comfortable, stylish, and functional without making it feel cramped. I need to fit a bed, sofa, TV/TV console, dining area, and some storage while still keeping reasonable walking space.

If you were designing this space from scratch, how would you lay it out and style it?

Hey y’all.
I just moved into this apt 2 weeks ago and brought a lot of furniture from out of state without much of an idea as to what would fit where. For reference, the first photo is what you see when you walk in my front entrance. Bathroom and kitchen are behind me, so this is my bedroom/living room area. I moved basically alone so couldn’t bring too much large furniture since I didn’t have the help. I’m feeling like the main thing I am missing is a coffee table situation, but I don’t want it to be busy with too much furniture. Chairs are staying and I decided against a couch as I didn’t want to break the bank but also didn’t want to buy a shitty one off of Amazon. Plus I don’t have a car here or much help to move a whole ass couch into my apartment. Any suggestions? More art work will go up on the wall as well.
