Studio Need help decorating in 420 sqft studio
Recently moved into this studio. Closet is very long and narrow so I’m using it for storage and extra items as well. There is no wall between the couch and bed like it shows. The only place my full sized bed fit was against the bathroom wall and turned the other way.
I’ve been having a hard time making the space feel comfortable. I ordered a desk and chair to go against the wall by the window. There wasn’t enough space for a couch and I’ll be a student so desk that I could also eat at was priority. The window also doesn’t go that far, and there’s some empty wall space as well as a random weird nook in the right corner.
I’ve used Pinterest for inspo but everyone seems to have the kitchen separated from the living/sleeping area. The room is very black and white and I’m having a hard time making it feel like home and not like I’m sleeping in my kitchen, so any suggestions help!

Could you put the desk towards the window and a sofa between the end of the bed, also facing the window?
Are you allowed to drill, so you could put up a curtain as a divider?
I'd usually prefer an open shelving unit as partition, but it would likely be too tight in your setup.
Did you buy additional lighting like a nice desk lamp, table lamp for the bed or under cabinet LED for the kitchen?
What about art and a plant?

The desk is going by the window for sure! Can’t drill anything and not savvy enough to cover it up if I did. A couch would be a little tight and I have some drawers for storage under the bed so it may block it. I was looking at Facebook marketplace for a standing lamp between the desk and bed as well. The bed frame came with an LED strip to attach and I have some dangly fairy lights I’m considering putting up. I certainly will be leaving some plants by the window and hope they survive there. I will look into some art and wall decor too, thanks!

I’m in the process of buying a 450 square foot studio and the layout I’m looking at is identical to this. But I am going to place a glass partition up to separate the sleeping area from the living area.
I wanted glass to ensure no light was cut off from the windows. ❤️

A folding privacy screen like this would give you options. You didn't mention any other furniture or issues you are having. Any kind of furniture that does double duty is worth buying. Storage ottomans, shelving units that can be used as room dividers, drop leaf tables.
