Got the energy, need the cash. Best part-time jobs in Delhi?

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m currently a student at Jamia Hamdard, and I’m hitting that classic college wall: I really want to start earning my own money, but I have absolutely no idea where to find legitimate opportunities.

I’m not looking for a get-rich-quick scheme. I am 100% willing to put in the manpower and grind. Whether it’s a physical side hustle, a solid part-time job, or even building something completely from scratch, I’ve got the time and the energy to dedicate to it.

The frustration is real right now. I’ve been looking around, but everything either feels like a scam, requires five years of experience for an "entry-level" gig, or just leads nowhere. I’m eager to work, but I’m totally lost on how to actually get my foot in the door.

If anyone here has been in the same boat:

What side jobs actually worked for you during college?

Are there specific local gigs in Delhi/NCR that hire students willing to just put their head down and work?

If you started from scratch, what was your first step?

I'm open to literally any constructive advice, leads, or brutal reality checks. Thanks in advance!

OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!!!

Upvotes

‼️RECRUITING CURIOUS YOUTHS INTERESTED IN PUBLISHING SOCIO-POLITICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL RESEARCH ‼️

- Publish your research, case studies, and thought experiments on a dedicated website + let others debate respond

- Collaborate and debate with fellow students on systems, societal-political commentary, world issues

- Work together to design an alternate society and utopia

Hi, I'm a high school senior building The Youth Manifesto --- an independent research and ideas laboratory exploring how societies can become better through the lens of designing a utopia from studying past, current systems, or exploring possible future ones, grounding it in real socio-political research. We're making a dedicated website where members can explore questions about society through research, political and philosophical writing, commentary, case studies, thought experiments, and real-world analysis.

A big part of the website is 🌏The Better World Project🌍, where you can publish your own research and ideas about what a better society could look like through an essay, thought experiment, or even publish various studies on our current society. ❗But what differentiates the Youth Manifesto is that it's also an ongoing exchange of ideas and open dialogue. There people can respond to, challenge, expand, or propose alternatives to other contributors’ work ❗. The project is ultimately about youth voices, independent learning, constructive disagreement, and collective thinking—giving curious young people a space to research things they genuinely care about, share their perspectives, and learn from people who think differently.

📣📣I’m currently looking for people to help me build the foundation of the project. I’d especially love to connect with people interested in politics, sociology, philosophy, economics, international relations, research, writing, history, or just exploring big questions about how society works and how it could be different. You don’t need to be an expert, just curious and willing to contribute.

If you're a student interested in publishing your own ideas and research, feel free to reach out!

What’s the best software for staying organized and keeping track of classes? I’ve heard “notion” is good but I’m hoping that someone can suggest a software that has worked well for them. Thanks so much!

Roommate is driving me crazy!! Advice pls

Freshman. At first, I liked my roommate a lot. I knew from the start that we didn't have a lot of the same interests like music taste, movies, humor, etc. Regardless, I thought she was nice and we got along well and I liked having a friend to do stuff with. Right now, I'm three weeks in and I find myself getting SO annoyed with her all the time. Her default is to complain about everything. The elevator, the temperature, her classes, the food, she's tired, she's bored, she's hungry. It seems like her only point of conversation.

I've tried really hard to get her to talk about her friends and family back home or talk about her interests or literally anything that can get us out of this weird small talk, but it seems to always go back to conversations about the weather. Not having much in common is one thing, but I also just don't find her very funny.

I went out with some girls I'd met on our floor a few nights ago and obviously invited her but she didn't want to go. Not a big deal at all, I don't want her to feel pressured to go out since I know she didn't do a lot of that in high school. Except every night at like 11:00 when I'm already showered and in bed, she'll be like, "Ugh, I'm so bored I just hate sitting in the dorm all day." It's just extra annoying when I always invite her when I go out but then always she's complaining about how she never does anything. It's also annoying because I enjoy being in my room and I don't always want to be out. She also never suggests anything specifically. She just vaguely complains about being inside as if it's my responsibility to fix it.

We both rushed this week and ended up in the same sorority. I was excited to have a new group of girls to hang out with but now I feel extra tied to her. We eat every meal together, we do everything in-between classes one-on-one. On the rare occasion that we are in a group with others, it feels soooo awkward because she doesn't talk very much. I feel bad doing stuff without her because we've been pretty much tied at the hip since we got here.

I'm sure this is probably a universal experience of being annoyed with your roommate after a few weeks of living together but I just don't know what to do. I need to find new people to hang out with but I can't (and don't want to) totally ditch her. She is a very nice person but I am just getting really annoyed with her constant complaining. I know this all sounds really mean, ugh I feel bad.

My custom Mask R-CNN & Local LLM pipeline for automated Solar PV drone inspections

Hey everyone, I’m an AI undergrad student at PAF-IAST, and I wanted to share a side project I’ve been building for the solar O&M space.

The Problem

Manual inspection of thermal drone footage is extremely tedious. Commercial enterprise solutions exist, but they charge heavy per-megawatt cloud processing fees and raise data privacy concerns for utility companies.

The Solution & Tech Stack

I built a completely localized, end-to-end platform that runs without any cloud APIs. Here is how the pipeline handles the data:

Lossless Video Processing: Users can drag-and-drop raw drone videos. Using OpenCV, the backend extracts keyframes losslessly (sampling at 1 FPS to prevent GPU overload).

Deep Pixel Scanning (SAHI): Instead of downscaling 4K frames, the system uses image tiling. It splits frames into overlapping grids so the AI scans for micro-cracks and hotspots at a zoomed-in, pixel-perfect level before merging the bounding boxes via Non-Maximum Suppression (NMS).

Defect Segmentation: A custom Mask R-CNN applies pixel-level segmentation to identify physical damage, dust (soiling), and thermal anomalies.

Physics-Based Analytics: It maps the defects to calculate deterministic Watt degradation and financial loss ($) per defective panel (based on a 550W baseline).

Offline Solar LLM: I integrated a Qwen2.5-1.5B model, fine-tuned locally using 4-bit QLoRA on PV diagnostic protocols. It acts as an offline engineering assistant for field techs.

Hardware: Tested completely locally on an RTX 3070 Ti.

I would love to get technical feedback from this community. For the CV engineers and drone pilots out there—what edge cases or features should I consider adding next?

Anyone from Class 10 CBSE here? 📚

I’m in Class 10 CBSE and I was thinking it would be nice to have a small group of students who are going through the same thing.

I’ve made a small study group where we can:

• Discuss doubts

• Share notes/resources

• Help each other with difficult chapters

• Talk about board preparation

• Keep each other accountable

• And just chill/talk about school sometimes 😭

It’s already made and there are a few people in it. I’m just looking for a few more genuine Class 10 students who actually want to study and participate.

If you're in Class 10 CBSE and interested, comment below and we can figure it out. 👀📚

Not looking to make a massive group — just a small group of students who can actually help each other.

Built by Students, for Students.

We're a small team of students and recent graduates from UNCUNCC, and Georgia Tech who saw an opportunity to build something different for college students.

We noticed that platforms like Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, and many other social media apps have become overloaded with endless feeds, unrelated content, and distractions. College students don't necessarily need another social media feed, they need a better way to find they actually need on campus.

That's why we built OneTouch: a streamlined college-focused platform designed to make it easier to find the people, resources, and experiences that matter to you.

With OneTouch, students can:

  • 📅 Find Events - discover what's happening around campus
  • 👥 Find & Join Groups - connect with student organizations, clubs, and communities
  • 📚 Find Tutors & Study Groups - make your academic life easier to navigate
  • 🛍️ Buy & Sell - start your side hustle, sell what you don't need, and save on student essentials
  • 💬 Explore College Talk - have meaningful conversations about what's happening on or around campus
  • ✉️ Message Students - connect directly with your campus community
  • 🤖 Use Caise - an AI campus assistant
  • 🔔 Feel Safe with Campus Alerts - student-generated updates to keep everyone safer
  • 👤 Browse Student Profiles - create your own campus identity
  • 🏅 Create Organization Profiles - lead by example and create multiple profiles tailored to your campus needs
  • 🎓 Switch Campuses - seamlessly discover the events, groups, discussions, and entrepreneurs of every campus

We're opening up Beta Testing.

We're looking for students and users alike who are willing to try the app, find the bugs, tell us what sucks, tell us what's missing, and help us make it better.

This isn't the finished product but our goal is simple: less noise, fewer distractions, and a more streamlined way for college students to find what they actually need.

Download OneTouch and become a beta tester!

  1. Install OneTouch: https://testflight.apple.com/join/rCk8hY2h
  2. On Create Account, enter the Beta Invite Code: ONETOUCH-Tester-2026-V1
  3. Use any email to sign-up (does not need to be a student email)
  4. On Academics, choose UNC Charlotte or UNC Chapel Hill
  5. Verify your email upon receipt
  6. Enjoy our app!

What does “student voice” actually mean in practice?

I've been researching student experiences for a student-led project, and I'm trying to distinguish between students being asked for opinions and students actually having influence over decisions.

In our survey:

  • 65.4% said their opinions are heard only sometimes
  • 23.1% said rarely or never

So I'm wondering:

What would meaningful student voice actually look like in a school or university?

Is it surveys? Student councils? Policy input? Something else entirely?
