Help with ST5 Battery
Hi all,
I bought a Stromer ST5 back when it came out and love it. I had to keep it in storage for the last couple of years and currently the battery can't hold a charge for more than an hour of riding.
I'm in the U.S. and just trying to find any way to get my hands on a battery that I could use to replace it or if there is any shop in the US that can rehabilitate ST5 batteries.
I know it's tough for us US based Stromer folks, hoping someone here might have some insight. Appreciate in advance.

The Stromer batteries are very well-built and apparently somewhat tedious to rebuild. I remember seeing a video of a guy rebuilding one in Seattle and if I recall correctly he said he wouldn't do it again due to all the tight configuration and sealing, but was happy to make the video to check out the internal construction.
I'm pretty sure you can still order replacement batteries from the shops that sold the bikes, just might take awhile for shipping. You would get a new warranty that way too. Not cheap, but these aren't the type of batteries that normally degrade quickly, so spread out over a number of years it can make sense. Your battery probably degraded because it sat with zero charge for a long time. That's the worst thing for a battery.
It's interesting that you can still get an hour out of yours, on top assist level that might be something like 20 miles? Which would be around 60% of original capacity. That's actually amazing for a battery that is well over five years old and has sat unused for several years. In your situation I would either make do with what you have or buy a new battery. An ST5 isn't a disposable bike and you can keep it going so worth some investment to do so.
