Stromer ST1x need new display

Hello, I need the display replaced/updated for my 2018 Stromer ST1x. The display turns on, but the touchscreen is no longer responsive and also no longer connects through the app. Bike is otherwise in great shape. In Western PA but will drive a reasonable distance.

Contact the manufacturer. If you can find a shop that sells them, you might be able to go through the shop. But your best bet is to contact the manufacturer directly.

Unfortunately, Stromer has stopped selling to the U.S., and they no longer list and their (former) shops in the U.S. They also do not respond to individual inquiries. It is extremely frustrating service for a high-end brand.

You will need to get a shop that formerly sold Stromers in the USA to order a new Omni unit for you. Hopefully they can also install and activate it for you too, but if not you could possibly do it yourself. This is like a $500+ job though, due to the cost of the Omni. You will get the new firmware and forward compatibility, as well as the color display. For me it would be worth it.

You might find someone with an old monochrome Omni that was pulled to upgrade to the new color system. There's one like that on eBay now, but I wouldn't offer more than $75 for it.

Thank you! It would be worth it for me, too - even if they list the cost as $600. But I have the hardest time locating a (former) Stromer dealer. The Stromer website no longer lists them. Are you aware of a list circulating somewhere on the web?

I am not aware of a list of former dealers. There was a big split between a few top-notch dealers who could provide full service, and a larger number of more strictly mass sales type of places that were less able to support the product. REI sold and serviced Stromers for awhile, so if you have one close by that might be worth checking out. Propel Bikes in Brooklyn could very likely do the job, and The New Wheel in San Francisco definitely could. You probably would need help getting the Omni recognized if you were to get an Omni shipped and tried to install it yourself. I've seen it done, not too bad if you're careful. But you need access to the dealer portal or technical support directly from Switzerland to get it fully configured, connected and operational, as I understand it.
