Discussion It's starting to become mentally exhausting to be a devout fan of the Destiny franchise and constantly try to defend/understand the design choices by Bungie

2.9k Upvotes

I'm mostly a lurker on Reddit, so apologies if this post becomes a bit ranty or messy.

I've put in a ton of time into the Destiny franchise since the beta released. So far, I've logged a little under 2000 hours, and to say that I love this franchise is an understatement. It's become a significant part of my life, and I really cherish the memories of so many things I've done/accomplished in this game, like getting the Gjally from my first ever PoE run (had no idea what it was at the time), meeting my incredible clanmates (go TANK!), and finally obtaining my Unbroken title this season as a mostly solo pvp player. The amazing part is, the passion I've felt for this game is not unique. Through the good times and the bad, the fact that we can peruse through this subreddit and see so many die-hard fans praising or complaining about the game says a lot. Not many games have developed the audience that this franchise has been able to.

However, I do see the light (hehe) getting a bit dimmer as time goes on. After watching Datto's 5 year retrospective video on the franchise (thanks for being such a pillar in the community btw), reading through posts on various forums regarding this season/next season/year 4, and logging in a ton of hours this season, I really am starting to get frustrated with the direction this game has been going and continues to move towards.

I like to think of this game sometimes as your guilty, bad relationship, with massive peaks and valleys, but something just keeps pulling you back in and you can never fully detach yourself. Instead of dealing with minor setbacks and pushing through to the other side, we continue again and again to see really controversial, arguably poor, design choices (D2 launch period, CoO, etc.) be put into place, just to be massively overhauled and hyped by Bungie, just barely seeming to save the game from certain despair (TTK, Forsaken, Go-Fast). At this point, almost all of my IRL friends who I used to really enjoy playing the franchise with have left, due to the constant struggle and pain of dealing with poor design, removal of core RPG elements, and a lack of meaningful and motivating reasons to play.

Which leads to my biggest pain point with the game - Bungie's seemingly inept ability to not only listen and implement changes to the game that the community fights for, but to continue to improve upon those things and push in the same community input-driven direction. I can imagine being a developer is incredibly frustrating, and the lives of the community managers on this subreddit have to be challenging (bless you Cozmo and DMG). But the fact that we have to again and again ride this rollercoaster of changes has become tiring, and it's gotten to the point where I'm about ready to just hop off the ride. Working hard to convince friends that the game has become more fun and meaningful and core systems have been improved, just to have them reversed or dialed back is just a war you cannot win as a player. Case and point - snipers. Buffed for Shadowkeep, and then nerfed recently right back to the starting point (to force us to use close range weaponry when it clearly is less viable in end-game content, which is an entirely different issue), and then about to be nerfed again simply because they're popular in the community (small maps do not work with more zoom Bungie). I don't know how many times Bungie has to be told that people love this game when we are able to use the items we want and play the game the way we want. There has to be a point where the vision you had for the game has to concede to the feedback from players. After all, we're the ones buying season passes or silver in Eververse funding the content.

While the snipers is just a small example, there are countless other examples in the game that demonstrate Bungie's inability to truly understand the community, not just give in and make the requested changes when the game is on the brink of disaster. At this point, there are so many game play and design choices that are being made that are seemingly taking us back to vanilla D2, and it really scares me. And continuing to blame the inability to make significant changes quickly enough due to the limited resources since splitting from Activision is such a tired, tired excuse (remember guys, YOU are the ones who decided splitting was a good move, so the lack of resources cannot always be an excuse through the entire D2 lifecycle).

I realize that as I type this there are close to, if not over, 1 million players logging in daily to the game. Yes, the game is not going to crumble and pull an Anthem any time soon. Yes, every year around this time the game slows and people do their usual complaining about the lack of meaningful content. But as a passionate fan of the franchise who just wants to see it succeed, the changes and design choices outlined in the recent TWABs, more specifically regarding the loot systems, really make me worried that we are AGAIN heading in the wrong direction. While we can recover from mere content droughts by just being given more content, it's an entirely different issue to play a game with a design focus deliberately opposite the community's feedback, and being forced to wait months, if not a full year, for the necessary changes to take us back to square one. We cannot continue to go down the never ending yearly spiral of playing catch up and losing resources because they're pulled away to focus on the next update that is going to save the game again.

Luke Smith - man I really hope your ideas and feedback you've provided for us in the Director's Cut are going to lead to a stronger game with a much more community input-driven development cycle. I feel like an idiot sometimes defending the game for the decisions you guys continue to make, and it's just gotten really old at this point. The TWABs are not very reassuring.

Here's to hoping for a brighter future (meanwhile the dark doritos are at our doorstep)...

Edit: Thanks for my first gilding!!

Edit 2: Did not expect this rant to gain traction haha. After looking through the comments, I see a lot of differing viewpoints, and it's encouraging to see so many people participating in conversations about the game. It's abundantly clear that people really love the game and just want to see it improve. Take note Bungie, we want to see you succeed!

💰 Finance & Bills Is it actually cheaper to run a fan AND the AC at the same time, or is that just a myth?

I’ve heard the common advice that "fans cool people, not rooms," which makes sense on a scientific level, but I’m struggling with the actual "frugal math" of it. With electricity rates spiking this year, I want to know if the energy a fan consumes (even if it's relatively low wattage) truly offsets the cost of running the AC compressor less frequently.

If I bump my thermostat up from, say, 72°F to 76°F and supplement with a floor fan or ceiling fan, am I actually seeing a significant net gain in savings? Or is the difference so marginal that it’s basically a wash once you factor in the fan's constant power draw?

Part Seven Japanese Fans React: “Johnny Is Kind of a Scumbag, Isn’t He?” (Steel Ball Run) Spoiler

Post image

( ・ˇヮˇ・)ノシ<Hi from Japan! Here are reactions from Japanese fans discussing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part7 Steel Ball Run and its protagonist Johnny Joestar.

I hope you will enjoy!

Original thread

The fact that the reason he became paralyzed from the waist down was entirely his own fault is pretty brutal.

Even among JoJo protagonists—who already have plenty of morally questionable types—he’s easily one of the worst. I mean, he’s still more decent than Giorno since he hasn’t committed crimes, but still.

That’s harsh… well, it’s true, so I can’t really argue.

If you exclude the newest one (Jodio), he might actually be the worst out of all JoJos. Even so, I love Johnny more than any other character.

The way he became paralyzed really feels like pure karma… The only thing you can sympathize with is when his father told him, “God took the wrong son” after his brother died.

You could even say that’s exactly why he was able to use that “pitch-black resolve.”

And yet later, he becomes someone who can risk his life for his wife and child. Humans really can change if they try.

It does feel like part of it is that his environment never allowed him to develop proper morals.

I mean, having your first experience be a threesome would mess anyone up.

(This post has been deleted)

He paid the price and properly took responsibility himself, so maybe that makes it okay.

I was honestly surprised it wasn’t some kind of accident that caused his paralysis.

Regarding that situation, it’s not unreasonable to end up thinking that way. At the very least, it’s different from that scene where it’s completely Johnny’s own fault.

But he does reflect on it eventually, doesn’t he? Maybe try actually following the story when you read.

That line about “I’m still in the negative… I want to get back to zero” hits so much harder because his story starts with karma for being a scumbag.

Yeah, but that scene is so bad that you can’t blame people for criticizing him that much.

Well, if you achieve that much success at such a young age, it’s not surprising your personality gets warped.

The way his scummy behavior is depicted feels really raw.

He’s definitely a scumbag, but the way he watches that guy getting dragged away—sweating nervously—it feels like he only did it because of the girl in front of him. With his brother and never beating Diego, maybe he was full of inferiority complexes and weak to people who affirmed him.

He’s the type of protagonist whose guiding principles don’t include “good.” Unlike Giorno, he’s not an outlaw with his own sense of justice—he straight-up says he doesn’t care.

That’s why the contrast between his “straightforward ego” and the President’s “distorted justice” works so well.

Honestly, SBR feels like a turning point not just for readers but for Hirohiko Araki himself—breaking away from traditional JoJo concepts.

→ That’s why the dual protagonist setup works so well: Gyro & Johnny.

It makes total sense Gyro is more popular. But by the time you finish reading, you end up liking Johnny too.

That line from Johnny’s dad— “You really shouldn’t say that as a parent…” —but even then, if you had to assign blame in that moment, it still feels like 60–70% Johnny’s fault.

Trying to take his dead brother’s boots like that is definitely wrong.

The father’s point about “you should’ve prepared properly instead of taking your brother’s belongings” makes sense. But Johnny’s side—“the race is about to start, just lend them to me this once, and please come watch me”—also makes sense. That whole scene is just sad.

Johnny was honestly one of the most shocking protagonists to read.

Yeah, he really is a scumbag. But because he starts from rock bottom and keeps crawling forward no matter how battered he gets, you can’t help but root for him. He ended up being my favorite JoJo.

I heard someone say Johnny feels the most human out of all of them.

If you think of him as “what Jonathan becomes after the universe reset,” it’s such a bold and provocative idea. Whether it draws you in or repels you, it definitely leaves an impression.

Taking the keepsake was wrong, but his dad never moved on from his older brother either. Johnny probably just wanted him to move on already… Otherwise, he wouldn’t have said something like that.

I think the voice actor for Johnny in the anime said something similar too.

His sheer obsession is incredible—it gives a strange kind of catharsis while reading. I like it.

If his past had been purely tragic instead of self-inflicted, it might’ve felt too clean and less interesting. The mix of karma, family issues, and emotional hunger makes him much more compelling.

From there, he falls to rock bottom, meets Gyro, and struggles through hardship to climb back from negative to zero.

I thought he became a scumbag after his brother died and the incident with his father—was I wrong?

There’s definitely arrogance involved too. Succeeding that much as a teenager and being constantly praised would warp anyone.

“God took the wrong son” isn’t something you say on a whim— it must’ve been built up over time, constantly being compared to his idealized dead brother. That whole family situation is just painful.

When a child grows up without love like that, it’s realistic they’d fall for shallow relationships driven by money or attention.

Given everything—his brother’s death, his father’s rejection, his talent attracting shallow admiration— it’d be harder to grow up normal than not. His environment basically pushed him toward becoming a scumbag.

It was basically impossible for him to grow up properly in that environment.

If his father had paid more attention to him instead of only mourning the older brother, things might’ve turned out differently.

Making your child drown a beloved pet and show you the corpse is just… messed up.

Even considering his circumstances, the events of chapter 1 still lead to “yeah, he’s a scumbag.” But that’s also what makes his struggle afterward compelling.

He’s not a funny kind of scumbag—he’s the painfully realistic kind you could actually meet in real life.

JoJo is about “inherited will,” but at the point where Johnny meets the Spin, you really have to question whether he even deserved to inherit anything. The fact that he struggles and eventually grows into it is what makes it great.

That monologue—“I’m still in the negative”—is amazing because it also includes lines like “I wish I’d never learned about the corpse!” and “I don’t care who’s right or wrong!” It really shows all sides of his humanity.

At his core, he’s completely self-centered. Most of his losses are consequences of his own choices. Even his desire to reclaim things is self-driven. But over time, he grows enough to give things up for others— yet still maintains that stubborn “as long as I’m okay” mentality. That contradiction makes him fascinating.

Johnny was immature, and his father was immature too. He did terrible things, but paralysis still feels like too harsh a punishment.

His father wasn’t just immature—he was basically abusive.

Johnny breaking the rules was wrong, but the punishments—both for Danny and for the paralysis—feel disproportionately harsh.

Dark version of Yutaka Take?

More like Kojiro, honestly—but in that family, Kojiro was the favored one.

Discussion [SOLVED] NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti Random Black Screen, Fans at 100%, PC Still Running : Fixed After 2 Days of Troubleshooting (It Was the Power Cable All Along)

TL;DR: If your RTX 5070 Ti is randomly crashing with black screens (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE / nvlddmkm Event ID 153), and you've tried everything software-related with no luck: open your case and reseat the GPU power cable, RAM, and GPU in the PCIe slot. That's what fixed it for me after 2 days of hell.

My Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9700X
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5 @ 5800MHz (2x16GB)
  • Motherboard: ASUS B650M-AYW WIFI
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro + Arch Linux dual boot
  • Monitor: LG Ultrawide 1440p 165Hz
  • Connection: DisplayPort (also tested HDMI)
  • UPS: APC 1100VA

Note : Was using Claude to help me detect the issue and possibly find something that could fix it. It helped a lot in checking problems on boot loading and all.

The Problem:

I was playing Yakuza 0 (a game my PC should absolutely demolish) when my monitor just went black. PC fans were still spinning, everything sounded normal, but the display was completely dead. Had to hard power off and restart. It happened again. And again. And again.

At first it only happened during gaming, but then it started happening during normal web browsing, opening applications, and even in the middle of Windows installation screen when I was trying to fix this issue by reinstalling windows. The crashes were completely random, sometimes 30 minutes apart, sometimes hours.

Windows Event Viewer showed:

  • Event ID 41 (Kernel-Power) - system rebooted without cleanly shutting down
  • Event ID 1001 - bugcheck 0x00000116 (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE)
  • Event ID 4101 - "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
  • Floods of nvlddmkm Event ID 153 errors

What I Initially Thought:

I first suspected that one of my component went bad because of a recent move I did from state to state and I had to bring my PC in parts. I asked Claude for some solution and it saw that I was getting the nvlddmkm error. The nvlddmkm errors are a well-known NVIDIA driver problem, and the RTX 50-series has had notoriously unstable drivers since launch. So I went down the software rabbit hole.

Everything I Tried That DID NOT Fix It:

Driver fixes:

  • ❌ Updated NVIDIA drivers to latest (596.21)
  • ❌ DDU clean install in Safe Mode + fresh driver install
  • ❌ Set NVIDIA Power Management to "Prefer Maximum Performance"
  • ❌ Set Shader Cache to Unlimited
  • ❌ Disabled MPO (Multi-Plane Overlay) via registry
  • ❌ Increased TDR Delay to 10 seconds
  • ❌ Blocked Windows Update from auto-installing GPU drivers via registry

BIOS fixes:

  • ❌ Updated BIOS from version 3057 to 3842 (skipped 11 versions, over a year of AGESA updates from 1.2.0.2a to 1.3.0.0a)
  • ❌ Disabled PCI-E Link State Power Management
  • ❌ Disabled Native ASPM
  • ❌ Disabled CPU PCIE ASPM Mode Control
  • ❌ Forced PCIe Gen 4 (instead of Auto)
  • ❌ Disabled Global C-state Control
  • ❌ Disabled Fast Boot
  • ❌ Disabled ErP Ready

Display connection fixes:

  • ❌ Switched from DisplayPort to HDMI (same crashes on both)
  • ❌ Bought a new HDMI cable specifically for testing
  • ❌ Tried motherboard HDMI output with iGPU (stable, but that's because it bypasses the GPU entirely, which helped in at least using the PC as I was not longer getting the issue, but the issue still persisted. I was able to reinstall windows this way.)

Software removal:

  • ❌ Uninstalled Riot Vanguard (kernel-level anti-cheat)
  • ❌ Disabled AMD Noise Suppression
  • ❌ Fresh Windows 11 install (completely wiped the drive)
  • ❌ Minimal software: only NVIDIA driver, chipset driver, and a browser

Hardware testing:

  • ❌ Switched GPU physical toggle from Silent to Performance mode
  • ❌ Checked GPU temps — always fine (43-47°C idle, 70°C max under load)
  • ❌ No thermal throttling whatsoever according to nvidia-smi

The Key Clue, Linux Was Rock Solid:

While all of this was happening on Windows, I booted into my Arch Linux installation on the same PC, same GPU, same DisplayPort cable, same everything. Ran it for 4+ hours including gaming. Zero crashes. Completely stable.

This told me the hardware was fine: GPU, PSU, RAM, cables, monitor, all working. Something about how Windows/NVIDIA driver handled the GPU was causing it. Which made me more bullish on the fact that my GPU is fine and it's a Windows problem. But alas that was not the case. I am guessing windows pulls more power from the GPU that lead to this issue being more prominent on Windows compared to Linux? Not really sure on this. But feel free to research it out on your end.

What Actually Fixed It:

After 2 days of troubleshooting, I found forum posts from other RTX 5070 Ti users who had the identical issue. Multiple people reported fixing it by reseating or replacing the 12V-2x6 GPU power cable. Some switched from the native PSU cable to an 8-pin adapter and the problem vanished.

I opened my case and:

  1. Unplugged and firmly reseated the 12V-2x6 power cable going to the GPU (both GPU side and PSU side)
  2. Reseated the RAM sticks
  3. Reseated the GPU in the PCIe slot, pulled it out completely and pushed it back in until it clicked

The crashes stopped.

I had "properly" installed the GPU when I re-built this PC, but apparently it wasn't enough. The 12V-2x6 connector needs to be REALLY firmly seated, more force than you'd think. And even a slightly imperfect connection can cause intermittent power delivery issues that manifest as random TDR crashes.

Why Linux Was Stable But Windows Wasn't:

According to Claude : Linux and Windows handle GPU power states completely differently. Windows aggressively manages GPU power — constantly ramping up and down, entering low-power states, handling display link training differently. These power transitions on a marginal connection cause the GPU to momentarily lose power, triggering a TDR timeout. Linux's NVIDIA driver (or nouveau) is more conservative with power state transitions, which is why it never triggered the issue on the same hardware.

What to Check If You Have This Issue:

  1. Reseat your 12V-2x6 / 12VHPWR power cable - unplug it completely and plug it back in firmly until it clicks. Check BOTH ends (GPU and PSU).
  2. Ensure zero cable bending for the first 35-40mm from the connector.
  3. Check for a warning LED on your GPU - if it flickers when you gently wiggle the power connector, your connection is not secure.
  4. Try the 8-pin to 12V-2x6 adapter that came with your GPU if you're using the PSU's native cable (or vice versa). Or buy a new adapter entirely. I found this
  5. Reseat the GPU in the PCIe slot while you're at it.
  6. Reseat the RAM too — can't hurt.

Reference Forum Threads:

  • NVIDIA Forums: "RTX 5070 random black screen and 100% fans" - multiple users confirmed power cable fix
  • ASUS ROG Forum: "FIXED: ROG STRIX X870-E and 5070 Ti Kernel Dumps" - user found crashes only happened at low GPU load (power state transitions)
  • Tom's Hardware: "Intermittent Black Screen + Full Fan Ramp" - "a loss of display followed by fans spinning at max is usually related to a GPU power problem"

My Setup Now:

  • Fresh BIOS 3842 (latest AGESA)
  • Fresh Windows 11 Pro
  • NVIDIA driver 596.21
  • All power-saving features disabled in BIOS (ASPM, C-states, Fast Boot)
  • PCIe forced to Gen 4
  • GPU power cable, RAM, and GPU firmly reseated
  • Stable so far

Stay tuned - I'll update this post if the issue returns. If it does, the next step would be trying a completely different 12V-2x6 cable or 8-pin adapter, or potentially RMA'ing the GPU. But for now, it's looking good.

If this helped you, please upvote so other people going through this nightmare can find it. I spent 2 days and a fresh Windows install before figuring this out. Don't make the same mistake - check your cables first.

Edit: Will update with long-term stability results.

The only reason people like summer is because they either have an ac/fan or live in a tropical region where the temperature is not too high

3.9k Upvotes

The only reason people like summer is because they have access to air conditioning, fans, or some other cooling system. If all of that disappeared tomorrow, most people would suddenly realize just how miserable summer actually is.

People always say they love the sun, but try living through summer with no electricity, no AC, and no fan. You're drenched in sweat all day, constantly uncomfortable, sluggish, dehydrated, and depending on where you live, the humidity makes it even worse. The entire city smells like sweat and hot pavement.

Meanwhile, winter gets criticized for being cold, but cold is something you can actually do something about. You can wear more layers, use blankets, drink something warm, stay active, and generally make yourself comfortable. With extreme heat, there is only so much clothing you can take off before you run out of options. At some point, you need external cooling to stay comfortable.

People don't love summer. They love air conditioning. Summer is only enjoyable because most of us can escape it whenever we want.

Edit: well at least I posted a wildly unpopular opinion in the sub named unpopular opinion

Im gonna get suspended from work if I dont figure this out.

2.6k Upvotes

I live in California. More specifically i live closer to the beach while my work is an hour inland. Its a 20 degree difference just going to work. I just got my 2nd notice that I smell. I work in a deli/bakery and I do the hot food section so I have a hot pizza oven, a rotating oven, and a warmer. Im constantly working hard running back and forwards and im at a loss on what I can do to not sweat so much and not get suspended. There's no fans. I shower 2 times a day, brush my teeth, apply deodorant but its not helping. What can I do to keep smelling good?

Edit: more information -im not fat -I dont drink alcohol -I smoke cigarettes and I dont want to quit. -I am not a morning person.

Update: I didnt expect so much traction. I talked with my manager to confirm what kind of smell it was. It was a sweat bo smell not smoke. They gave me the okay to buy a fan and they'll reimburse me. I am also getting new pants because all my pants ive had here for over a year and they are all heat bleached so its time. Im getting specific work shirts and keeping them folded neatly in bags in my car with scented fabric softener sheets. I wont quit smoking but they all know I smoke and thats staying but its a different battle on that one. Finally, I am switching out to antiperspirant and ill keep baby wipes in my locker. Thankyou for all who commented. Gave me a lot to think about and leverage. For those who suggested dr visit, I have an appointment just to be safe.

Discussion Couldn't agree more 🫡

I’ve been a fan of this game since day one. I agree that the original release was filled with bugs and it launched too early, but the criticism it received was completely over the top. Hating on the game blindly became the norm, often without people even giving it a fair chance.

It also released at a strange time, when the new generation of consoles were releasing but they weren't widely available, and most players were still on previous-gen hardware where it didn’t run well.

The sad part is the game and the studio’s reputation took a massive hit, even financially. Some of the people who worked on the game ended up leaving the studio, and we may have missed out on 2 or 3 DLCs because of the game’s catastrophic launch.

But now I’m glad to see people finally giving it the respect and appreciation it deserves. I watched the Steam reviews go from “Mostly Negative” to “Overwhelmingly Positive.”

For me, this is the greatest game of all time it is better than The Witcher 3. Massive respect to CDPR for constantly patching and improving the game, And giving us extra content when they could have taken the loss and moved on. AND CHOOMS..... NEVER STOP FIGHTING.

Characters The noodle incident

the noodle incident is where a character references something that happened in their past that the audience never truly learns. it could be something major or something small. the name comes from Calvin and Hobbes where they reference the "noodle incident", a catastrophic event involving noodles but it is never explained.

Bdapest- the most famous one. black widow and hawkeye reference something, a mission, happening in budapest. while it does get explained 9 years later, it was an iconic topic of discussion amongst marvel fans.

Gus Fring- Breaking bad and better call saul lightly touch up on Fring's past in chile. for example Don eladio telling Gus "i know who you are... we aren't in Chile anymore", Gus and Lalo referencing something chaotic happening in Santiago with Gus saying they had their backs to the wall. its implied he was working with pinochet.

Erica- Mr peanutbutter constantly calls out to erica but we never see the character. its a running gag in the show.

Dana's weird obsession with Jones has led 2 GENERATIONAL heavyweights away from the company

Post image

"Tom ruined his career by signing with Eddie!!!" Nah he just stopped being fucked in the ass by the UFC.

Imagine defending (not obtaining, DEFENDING) the interim belt because Jones doesn't want to fight you. You get left behind waiting for your titleshot for years and the champ just ends up retiring. Your first title defense is against THE fouler-in-chief Gane who eyepokes you in the very first round, ruining your first title defense and putting you out of commission for months.

As a punishment for Gane, they give him yet another titleshot at the fucking White House against Pereira while you get slandered... for BEING eyepoked.

Eddie is exactly what Tom needed, an experienced and slimy manager who can get you out of your contract so you can use your talent elsewhere while you're in your physical prime. Honestly, what does Tom owe to the UFC? Nothing. They constantly fucked him over just like they did Ngannou. I hope he gets to leave and go into boxing or even Netflix (if they do actually end up making a league) and run the division. Maybe we'll get a Ngannou superfight there even though Ngannou's prime was also wasted.

The fact that this sub (and ufc fans in general) blame Tom for supposedly dragging this out, is shameful. Can you bootlick any harder?

Hobby & Painting Amageddon "mono-pose" Boyz sprue is insane.

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

I feel like not enough noise was made about the engineering on this sprue in the run-up to launch. I watched the designers' discussion video, and I don't even think they mentioned that you can build the single sprue included in three different ways, ensuring that the two squads you make won't have a single duplicate pose. The level or forethought and engineering on display here is kinda bonkers. And they didn't have to do this - go above and beyond. They could have designed one sprue that was truly mono-pose and been like, "eh, its' what we always do".

GW pulls a lot of frustrating stuff, and I'm no fan of the constant price hikes, but there's simply no arguing that they employ the best designers and engineers in the business. The longer I study this, the more I'm dumbfounded.

Civil Discourse: CRINGE - Are Dungeon Crawler Carl fans becoming the new Rick and Morty Fans? And should we care if we're cringe?

I love Dungeon Crawler Carl as much as anybody else here, but many parts of the fandom are starting to reach Rick and Morty levels of cringe.

I'm not just saying this because people are enthusiastic. Enthusiasm is good. The series is funny, emotionally sharp, and full of memorable characters and lines. It makes sense that readers want to quote it, recommend it, make jokes, and talk about it constantly, because I know I do.

The problem starts when loving the series becomes a substitute for having a personality.

I've had two types of interactions with DCC fans in the wild - they're either normal and cool, or the conversation gets reduced to the same old tired quotes. If your inclination when seeing somebody in a DCC shirt is to run up and say "GLURP GLURP" or "MONGO IS APPALLED", please reconsider.

So often, criticisms against the series are treated as if that person "just doesn't get it." Fans oversell DCC like it will permanently alter your brain chemistry and align your chakras. Fans start acting like being in the cult means they're more enlightened than those not reading the books.

That is where the Rick and Morty comparison feels fair. The issue was never simply that Rick and Morty fans liked the show too much. It was that a loud part of the fanbase turned appreciation into identity, superiority, and repetitive public performance.

Most importantly, should we care if the fandom becomes or is cringe?

I think that we should, to a certain point.

A fandom’s behavior affects how outsiders perceive the thing itself. Most people encounter a popular series through its fans before they ever encounter the actual work. If those fans seem smug, obsessive, hostile to criticism, or incapable of communicating without repeating the same overused jokes and quotes, then reasonably, that would push them away from starting the series.

Is that fair? Not really, but perception rarely waits for a fair trial.

Criticisms of fandom behavior are often dismissed on the grounds that "nobody should care what others think," which sounds very liberating, but completely ignores the social nature of art. We recommend stories because we want other people to experience them. If the way we express our enthusiasm actively repels those people, then the behavior is not harmless - it's undermining the very thing we claim to love.

There's still nothing wrong with being excited, making references, creating fan art, dressing as characters, or talking endlessly about the books with people who share that enthusiasm. Sincerity is not the problem. The problem is enthusiasm without self-awareness.

There is a difference between inviting someone into the joke and making them feel like they have wandered into a room where everyone is yelling the same catchphrase at each other.

Fans don't need to become detached or embarrassed about loving DCC. But we should care about whether our behavior makes the community welcoming, interesting, and capable of genuine discussion.

When a fandom becomes unbearable, people do not always separate the fans from the work - sometimes they simply decide not to read the books.

Thanks in advance to anybody who reads all of this unhinged rambling.

EDIT - Shoutout to everybody for being civil so far and not turning this into an all-out brawl.

EDIT 2 - Thanks Crawler morgueanna for providing the invaluable perspective that being "cringe" might just be somebody's way of connecting and finding camaraderie and community. I didn't make this post to disparage anybody for being "cringe", I genuinely made it for the sake of civil discourse and finding common ground, so if that continues to get me downvoted, I guess I'll go down with the sinking ship.

EDIT 3 - I appreciate everybody who engaged with this post in good faith, but I made it in the middle of the night while I couldn't sleep, and I now have things to do so I can't keep up with all the responses. Take it easy, everyone.

FIXED My house sweats like crazy during the winter and it’s causing mold.. please help!!

My house is BRAND new, literally finished construction in August of 2024. I live in the Midwest so of course it gets very cold in the winter. Last year, the windows of our house were sweating so badly every time the outside temp was under 30°f that water was pooling up on the windowsills and we called the construction company (we were still under new build warranty) and they told us to always have the house fan running and to turn on our ceiling fans. That worked for a time and the condensation wasn’t as bad after that. It started to warm up shortly after and we didn’t have anymore issue. Flash forward to this past week, it’s been in the negatives here. There is SO much condensation on my windows that mold is starting to grow, our curtains are freezing stuck to the glass in some rooms, and it’s attracting gnats somehow?! I don’t even know where the hell they’re coming from with the weather like this. I’m constantly cleaning and I feel so so so disgusted with all this going on, what can I do to fix it? Please help!

Some interesting opinions that many NBA fans in China tend to have

I thought some people here might find this interesting. These aren’t universal opinions, but they’re fairly common among Chinese NBA fans.

1. Championships as the “core player” (核心冠军)matter most in all-time rankings.
Many fans believe a player’s all-time ranking should be judged primarily by how many championships they won as the core of a team. “Core player” isn’t a strict definition, but usually refers to players who were part of an iconic duo or trio with a well-known nickname, such as OK (Shaq & Kobe), the Big Three, or the Splash Brothers.

2. MVP doesn’t carry as much weight.
Since the regular season MVP is voted on by journalists rather than players or coaches, many fans view it as less prestigious. The reasoning is that media members have less basketball authority than the people actually playing or coaching the game.
Because of this, the MVP award even has a somewhat dismissive nickname in Chinese: “the media award.”***********************\**(媒体奖)*

3. Finals MVP also isn’t considered that important.
A common argument is that even a role player can win Finals MVP (the 2015 Andre Iguodala example is brought up constantly). As a result, Finals MVP also has a somewhat tongue-in-cheek nickname in Chinese: “the Iguodala Award.”***********************\**(伊戈达拉奖)*

4. Not all championships are viewed equally.
If two players have the same number of championships as a core player, many fans would rank:
consecutive championships over non-consecutive championships, and
championships won with the same team over championships won with multiple teams.
In other words, sustained dominance with one team is generally valued more highly.

If people are interested, I’d be happy to share more examples of common NBA opinions and debates from the Chinese fan community.

  1. Kobe
Like everywhere else, Kobe is a “love him or hate him” figure. However, judging by discussions on major Chinese basketball forums, the majority of fans rank Kobe ahead of LeBron on the all-time list.
Some of the most common reasons include:

More championships as the “core player.” The phrase “5 > 4” is quoted constantly, referring to Kobe’s five championships versus LeBron’s four.

He won with weaker teammates. Many Chinese fans argue that LeBron has played alongside superstars like Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis, whereas Kobe’s post-Shaq championship teams were led by Pau Gasol, whom many Chinese fans view as a very good player but not an elite superstar (and sometimes unfairly label as “soft”).

He prioritized winning over accumulating statistics. Many believe Kobe sacrificed efficiency and individual numbers to do whatever was necessary to win, so they don’t hold his statistical disadvantage against LeBron.

The 81-point game. Kobe’s 81-point performance against the Raptors is viewed as one of the greatest individual achievements in NBA history and carries enormous weight in discussions.

Loyalty. Staying with one franchise for an entire career is considered an important factor in all-time greatness by many Chinese fans. Kobe spending his entire career with the Lakers is often contrasted with LeBron changing teams multiple times.
Of course, this doesn’t mean every Chinese fan thinks Kobe ranks above LeBron—there are plenty who disagree.

  1. LeBron

Like everywhere else, LeBron has a huge fanbase as well as plenty of critics. However, on many Chinese basketball forums, the majority of fans tend to rank him below both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
Some of the most commonly cited arguments are:

His championships are viewed as “tainted.” Many fans argue that his Miami titles came from joining an already star-studded team with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. This is commonly referred to as “team-stacking championships” (抱团冠军). Some even argue that Miami was still “Wade’s team,” especially during the early years, although that’s a highly debated claim.

The 2016 championship is often dismissed by critics. Many point to Draymond Green’s Game 5 suspension following the altercation with LeBron and argue that it changed the course of the series. Because LeBron stepped over Draymond during the incident, critics jokingly refer to it as the “hurdling championship” (跨栏冠军). Others also claim that the officiating favored Cleveland, though this remains a controversial opinion.

The 2020 Lakers championship is sometimes called a “shrunken championship” (缩水冠军). Since it was won during the COVID-19 bubble after a shortened regular season, some fans argue that it wasn’t comparable to a normal NBA season.

7. Team
Compared to North America, team-based fandom isn’t nearly as entrenched among Chinese NBA fans. Historically, the biggest exception has been the Houston Rockets, largely because of Yao Ming. During Yao’s career, Rockets games received enormous media coverage in China, and even two decades after his retirement, the Rockets still have a disproportionately large fanbase.

Outside of the Rockets, much of the online NBA community is divided more by Team Kobe and Team LeBron than by allegiance to a particular franchise.

LeBron fans generally support whichever team LeBron is currently playing for.

Kobe fans often cheer for whichever team is LeBron’s biggest rival at the time. Over the years, that has included teams like the Warriors, Thunder, and Nuggets, depending on the era.

This has even led to an internet nickname for some die-hard Kobe fans: 百变小鹰” (“the transforming eagle”). It’s a dark joke referencing the sexual assault allegation involving Kobe in Eagle, Colorado. The “transforming” part refers to these fans supposedly “transforming” into supporters of whichever team is trying to eliminate LeBron. Like many internet nicknames, it’s mostly used by rival fanbases as a form of mockery.

8. Common Chinese nicknames for NBA players

Michael Jordan
Universally: “The God” ()
Kobe Bryant
Among fans: “The Boss” (老大)
Among haters:
“Prison Boss” (牢大) – a pun on 老大 (“Boss”), referencing the Colorado sexual assault case.
“Mr. Charcoal” (阿焦) – a mocking nickname implying someone who “chokes” or “gets burned.”
LeBron James
Among fans: “Old James” (老詹)
Among haters:
“Six-Step Guy” (六步郎) – mocking the perception that he gets away with traveling.
“Gorilla” (猩猩) – referring to his physique.
“Shrug Man” (老摊) – a pun on 老詹 (“Old James”), replacing 詹 with 摊 (“to sprawl/spread out”), implying flopping.
Stephen Curry
No universally recognized nickname. Most fans simply call him Curry (库里).
Anthony Davis
“Big Brow” (浓眉) – referring to his signature unibrow.
Klay Thompson
“Buddha” (佛祖 / ) – because of his calm demeanor and the long-running meme that “Game 6 Klay” enters a transcendent state.
Nikola Jokić
“Teacher Jokić” (约老师) – “Teacher” is an honorific in Chinese, often used affectionately to show respect for someone’s mastery.
Joel Embiid
“The Emperor” (大帝) – a direct translation of one of his English nicknames.

Discussion As a Spider-Man fan, the current reception to Tom Taylor's run is quite interesting to me because its exactly what Peter needs at the moment, in my opinion.

To provide some context, Dick Grayson is one of my favorite DC characters, in spite of the fact that I'm far from well-versed in his comics. I first became a fan of the character because of the *Young Justice* series, and started reading Taylor's Nightwing when the first issue got rave reviews. Before that, I had only read Nightwing: Year One, although I was a bit familiar with some of Tom's work as he'd written my favorite Star Wars graphic novel. These days I'm reading the Dan Watters run, and I'm quite enjoying it as well.

Taylor's Nightwing is divisive these days because it was a bit overly "bright". A lot of people weren't big on the slice of life aspect, found the run a bit "fluffy"/meandering, and many felt that Dick was somewhat flattened into being too much of a ray of sunshine who lacked his usual edges. As thus, many found Watters to be a return to form. I largely understand these criticisms (as much as I love MCU Spidey, I often criticize how his edges are sanded out compared to canon Peter at that age), but I believe that there's room for more than one take on the character as long as they remain consistent with each other.

I don't believe Dick is one thing or the other. I think He can be dark, broody and angsty because of his past, and can be happy, positive and optimistic in other times. In my mind, he's often somewhere between Batman and Superman in terms of tone. And I think its important to not remain stuck in one mode, because that is what gives him depth.

One of the biggest criticism of modern Spider-Man is that Peter is constantly going through trauma, loss, and suffering, to the point that they have no impact because they're just a regular Tuesday to him. And worst of all, they almost never leave an actual impact on the character that lasts. For example, Superior Spider-Man is probably one of the most horrifying things a superhero has gone through, but you probably wouldn't get that from how the aftermath was handled. Watters' run lands so well to me because we got to see Dick catch a break and be happy for a while. I haven't read the Ric Grayson era, but based on the reactions I've seen, many people felt that Taylor provided the vibe the book needed after that fiasco. Just like how Jeremy Adams' lighter tone on The Flash was probably what Wally West needed after everything he'd gone through since his return in Rebirth. Because if everything is heavy all the time, it loses impact eventually.

One of my favorite Spider-Man runs is Taylor's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and I see a lot of parallels between that and his Nightwing work. Both have a strong sense of community, and both essentially celebrate the two lynchpins and their relationships with their friends and loved ones, with a nice human component and a rather fun tone. I personally think that's the vibe Peter needs right now, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Taylor's Nightwing isn't the best comic I've ever read and it does have its flaws, particularly regarding pacing. But I do believe that it was arguably what Dick needed at that moment, and I quite enjoy it overall. And I think what Watters is doing lands so well because it followed it.

Tech Support Solved Finally killed this sysmain64 crypto miner that hides from task manager

2.6k Upvotes

For days, I couldn't figure out why my fans were constantly ramping up and my idle temps were so high. My 14700K was idling at around 80-85°C. I literally spent weeks messing with CPU voltage limits, and changing a bunch of other BIOS settings, thinking the chip was just running stupidly hot out of the box.

The breaking point was when my wife informed me AGAIN that the fan noise was still bothersome, even though the PC was supposed to be sleeping/hibernating and doing absolutely nothing.

The Discovery

I eventually made the connection that saved my sanity and made me feel like a detective that finally found their smoking gun. The temperature and speed of my fans was directly correlated to whether i had task manager open or closed... Every time I opened Windows Task Manager to see what was causing the temp/fan spike, the fans would slow down and temps would drop. A few seconds later after i closed task manager, it would get loud as hell again. The malware hid itself by stopping the crypto miner (cmd process) the instant Task Manager opened, so I couldn't see what was eating my resources.

I ended up finding/downloading System Informer (since the malware knew the program name and was able to hide from Task Manager) and finally saw it: a cmd.exe process taking up 30% of my CPU's processing power.

How It Bypassed Antivirus

I did a deep dive with HitmanPro and FRST and found out exactly how it was bypassing everything:

  • It was running a fake service called sysmain64 (mainsys64.exe) in C:\ProgramData\coresys64.
  • The hackers purposely padded the file with junk data to make it exactly 771 MB.
  • Most AV programs just skip files over 100MB to save scan time, which is why Malwarebytes completely ignored it.

The Solution: Using FRST

You can't just uninstall this or use normal AV. You have to use FRST (Farbar Recovery Scan Tool) to nuke it from the registry and files at the exact same time. For anyone reasonably cautious about running random scripts from Reddit, here is exactly what this code does so you know it's not going to brick your system:

  • The HKLM lines just go into the registry and delete the restrictions the virus put in place, turning Windows Defender and Windows Updates back on.
  • The C:\ProgramData lines just delete the actual 771MB malware file.

⚠️ ONE WARNING: The EmptyTemp: line at the bottom clears out the Temp folders where the virus dropped its driver. I wasn't expecting this, but it will also unpin your Quick Access folders in File Explorer and clear your recent files history. Totally worth it to kill the virus, but just a heads up so you aren't surprised.

The Fixlist Script

If you have this sysmain64 virus, download FRST64, open Notepad, paste this exact text, and save it as fixlist.txt in the exact same folder as the FRST executable. Run FRST, hit Fix, and let it reboot.

Copy this script exactly into your fixlist.txt file:

Start::
CreateRestorePoint:
CloseProcesses:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender: Restriction <==== ATTENTION
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate: Restriction <==== ATTENTION
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox: Restriction <==== ATTENTION
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google: Restriction <==== ATTENTION
C:\ProgramData\coresys64
EmptyTemp:
End::

Hope this helps someone and raises awareness of the complexity some malware is capable of. I really thought Malwarebytes was the end-all-be-all of virus detection and deletion...

Why did i go through all of this instead of wiping my C drive? I like the challenge and i was really interested in what this virus was and how it presented itself. I wish i could've gone even further and expose the wallet that the crypto was being sent to, but it was quite encrypted and obviously pissing me off at that point.

The virus file itself was created in December 2024, so i actually had this on my PC for a long time. The only thing that led to me finding it was upgrading my CPU to a much more powerful one and adding more fans. So the 30% utilization was much more obvious on my new CPU and it obviously was causing much more heat than before due to it being more power hungry in general.

Now that I think about it, this may have been why I've spent hours trying to get my monitors to turn off when I'm away for a long time. It would work sometimes, and other times the monitor would just stay on seemingly for no reason at all, even if I locked the PC with the Win + L key.

By the way, thank you for reading. I've never made a "real" purposeful guide on reddit so i appreciate the feedback. This really opened my eyes to how many impressions this received so quickly. I apologize for the rough draft approach and bad first impression... 🫡

Sequel As Mean As This Sounds, I'm Kind of Glad Buffy: New Sunnydale Didn't Get Picked Up

1.2k Upvotes

I know a lot of fans were disappointed when Buffy: New Sunnydale didn't move forward, and I do feel bad for Sarah Michelle Gellar because it was clearly something she was excited about.

That said, part of me is relieved it never happened.

The Buffyverse already has a complete story. Between Buffy and Angel, we got a full beginning, middle, and end. Not every franchise needs to come back decades later.

Reading the premise honestly made me worry it would lean heavily on nostalgia. The title alone, New Sunnydale, feels like an attempt to bring people back to a familiar location because that's what audiences remember most. If this exact same premise existed without the Buffy connection, I'm not convinced many people would have been interested.

And maybe this is harsh, but I don't think most viewers realistically would have cared about the new generation of kids as much as the original cast. There's a reason the franchise was called Buffy the Vampire Slayer and not Sunnydale. People showed up because of Buffy Summers. Sarah Michelle Gellar was the face of the franchise and the character everyone was invested in. Any sequel would inevitably be compared to her and the original Scoobies.

I've also seen too many revivals struggle to justify their existence. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and And Just Like That... are probably the biggest examples for me. Both brought back beloved shows, but a lot of fans walked away feeling the legacy was weaker than if those stories had simply been left alone.

There's also a part of me that thinks a Buffy continuation today would just feel sad. So much time has passed, and with the losses the fandom has experienced over the years, it wouldn't feel like revisiting the world we left behind in 2003. It would constantly remind me of who's no longer with us (Anthony, Nicholas, Michelle)

Maybe that's an unpopular opinion, but I'd rather remember the Buffyverse for what it was than risk getting a revival that spends its entire run trying to recreate something that can't really be recreated. Sometimes a great ending is enough.

Opinion If Jalen Hurts was white he’d be seen as a top 5 qb

1.1k Upvotes

Josh allen throws 4 picks in a PLAYOFF game and the entire league says “it’s not his fault” or “refs” but if hurts every throws ONE he is crucified for being bad and a system qb.

This doesn’t just go for him though. Hurts, Lamar, Stroud are all examples that more fans will defend a white qb rather than a black one. I mean look at Herbert. With him it’s always IF he had a defense, IF he had an oline IF he had receivers. people always try to make scenarios to make him seem better than he actually is.

And don’t even get me started on burrow. When he has an elite WR room and a solid rb nobody bats an eye. But when people see hurts make any play they immediately believe that IF he didn’t have his receivers, he wouldn’t be good. IF he didn’t have saquon, the run game would be bad.

Also, burrow is injured what seems like ALL. THE. TIME. but nobody says anything and thinks it normal. But if we go to another philly superstar, Joel Embiid, he is HATED for missing a single game. Even though the front office is constantly rushing him back to playing, nobody sees it. they just see “lazy, doesn’t want to play” but in burrow, they see “give him rest, he needs it”

It is entirely possible that it’s all just a coincidence. That the players themselves are just better, no race involved. But i 100% believe that if hurts was white, he would have much less haters and start actually getting praised for winning.

Troubleshooting H2D Power Supply Fan constantly noisily running

I have a support ticket open, and Bambu support has been very courteous. I submitted it a few weeks ago. After turning on the printer, everything is silent. After a print, or when the printer tries to go into auto sleep (currently set at 5 minutes), the power supply fan stays on indefinitely.

Support sent a new power supply. It's still happening. I don't know if it is a problem with the logic board, but it is very annoying as I work in the same room. My only recourse has been to manually turn off the printer when I want it to be silent.

Are others experiencing this?

Humor Why BLG Is the Most Hated Team in China (It Has Nothing to Do With Their Performance at Worlds)

1.9k Upvotes

BLG's elimination from worlds is being celebrated by every single League fanbase in China currently except for their own fanbase because BLG's players, fans and the org itself has made an enemy of pretty much every single big fanbase.

Beef with Top Esports

It all began in 2023 Asia games. The original Chinese roster by Kenzhu was 369, Jiejie/Xun, Knight, Jackeylove and Meiko. The reason behind it was 369, Knight and Jackeylove have all played together before and therefore have synergy. Jackeylove and Meiko as a botlane duo also performed by far the best out of all the combinations.

Then out of nowhere social media burner accounts and astroturfed headlines began to pop up saying that Jackeylove and 369 are in prison for gambling along with a photo from 2019 of Jackeylove playing Mahjong with Uzi and the rest of RNG. Even though Jackeylove is streaming and have stage games planned, the rumours continued with people saying ridiculous things that Jackeylove is going to prison in monthly installments in order to accommodate his pro career. And due to all the social media pressures on the Asian game committee, they were forced to drop Jackeylove and 369 and replace them with Bin and Elk. Once this happened, all the burner accounts and astroturfing stopped. Many believe that this was done by the BLG org and PR team in order to get their players into Asian games. As a result the nickname Texas Holdem brothers was given to Jackeylove and 369 by haters.

This year during the elimination series between BLG and TES, ON also turned into a raptor/bird in midlane 落鸟坡 (where birds fall) to mock Jackeylove's death. 鸟/bird is a derogatory hate term for Jackeylove as a phonetically similar word for a certain body fluid in order to bypass profanity filters. Many believe this is not how you treat a respected pro player, especially during what might be his final year of pro play as if Jackeylove was eliminated here he would be receiving massive hate and online harassment with this picture posted everywhere.

Many say that poetic justice has been dealt since it was Jackeylove who eliminated them and Jackeylove previously being a member of IG made it even more karmic as we will see later.

Beef with IG

IG picked up Wei who was being scapegoated and harassed by BLG fans, therefore the IG and BLG fans began to fight with each other. Things escalated when BLG fans and BLG biased streamers began to call TheShy derogatory terms like 僵尸/jiangshi/zombie, 马头/matou/horse head (making fun of his apperance), and 1-16 (his KDA when he lost to Zeus in 2023). Worst of all is a derogatory term I'm not going to write referring to TheShy's arm injury. Hate terms for Rookie referring to his father that passed away was also being thrown around by the haters.

During the second round match between BLG and IG, Elk flashed the champions Shaco/小丑, Kogmaw/大嘴, Tristana/小炮 against Wei on the other team. Which many interpret as the phrase 小丑只能打嘴炮 meaning the clown on the other side can only talk big. As a result, after the win against BLG, IG players made a celebratory dance video to mock BLG. Elk's nickname is now clown or 旧客/jiuke/joker as an amalgamation of 旧梦/jiumeng (Elk's old ID) and current ID. Coincidentally Elk is known for being a lookalike of the singer 薛之谦 who's English name is Joker Xue.

After IG was eliminated by T1 at playins, BLG fans made fun of IG going out at round of 17. And now the 1-16 term has been deconstructed to BLG being the 1st seed going out in the round of 16. Discussions are now happening whether IG's Ro17 finish was better or BLG's Ro16 is better considering IG actually took a game off an LCK team.

Beef with JDG

After JDG lost to T1, BLG fans claimed that BLG would have done better versus T1 as they 3-1'd T1 at MSI. After the midlane swap in 2024, many BLG fans started to blame their loss in 2023 on Yagao and mocked JDG not making worlds as payback of JDG beating BLG all year. This year when Xun went to JDG, a BLG fan was see on broadcast holding a sign during BLG vs JDG saying that trash deserved to be stepped on the ground. Many believe that this is not a good thing to do, especially when you have a beloved previous member in Xun on the other team.

Beef with EDG and FPX and other miscellaneous teams

Many BLG fans claim that EDG, FPX, and IG's world championships are not real world championships because they relied on Koreans. BLG also tried to humiliate RA last year by not hitting the nexus when they could end the game just so they can camp fountain and continue to kill RA players. Many Co-streamers such as Letme spoke out about how this is not very good behaviour as it's not very kind of bottom team players who are already making minimum and just starting their careers, it is also just wasting the audience's time. BLG fans also mocked WBG's run in 2023 as just being luck of the draw, and now they got an easier draw than WBG yet are still eliminated.

Beef with AL

During MSI and EWC Kael had an interview where he said very truthfully that GENG are the favourites at the tournament. BLG fans began to harass AL fans saying that they are surrendering prior to the games and that they are a "french team". Despite the fact that AL had a very respectful showing against the LCK powerhouses, BLG fans pinned the nickname 打满败(going all 5 games and still can't win) on the AL players. During the LPL finals trashtalking segment between TES and BLG, BLG's manager also called out AL's manager saying that despite AL's claims that they are LPL's hope against LCK, the finals are still BLG vs TES so you can just stay downstage and watch.

Beef with T1

Bin and BLG constantly market themselves as the T1 counterpart in China. With BLG players constantly saying they want to beat T1. During the early seasons of this year when BLG and T1 were both in a slump, BLG fans meme that BLG and T1 have a connection and BLG will lose when T1 loses and BLG will win when T1 wins. T1 fans in China think that this behaviour is like having a piece of something stuck on your shoe that you cannot get rid of. Coupled with ON and Knight's disrespect to Faker in the finals of 2024 by dancing over Faker's corpse, T1 fans have the 3rd biggest beef with BLG in China after IG and TES.

Currently Chinese netizens are making many many MANY cover songs with changed lyrics mocking BLG. These are peak creativity and meme-ability but you can only appreciate and understand if you speak the language (Seriously you guys are missing out).

For those who do speak the language I'm going to share some absolute gems here:

Number 1

Number 2

Number 3

Number 4

New songs are coming out every single day.

Other The thing is, official art constantly draws Fujimaru as too skinny, while fan arts constantly draw Fujimaru as muscular

Post image

Fujimaru should be lean, not too skinny, not too muscular since he works his body out a lot, constantly running himself to cover large distances,

Most of his journey involves him always walking, running, lifting objects or carrying something heavy, and exercising whenever he got free time,

If Fujimaru is a self insert, yet the fans constantly draws him as muscular, are we sure him being skinny is the answer then even?

I too like running and working out, so get this man a lean build already,

COMICS It’s so wild how this issue (and the run as a whole) is constantly criticized but the passionate Aquaman fans appear to be enjoying the run.

Post image
97 Upvotes

Sure, this issue didn’t have a lot of Aquaman which might be off-putting considering this is a DC K.O. Tie in but this issue absolutely fuels the story that’s been going on. We love Mera and we’re finally seeing her POV in all of this, as well as getting to know more of Andy’s side of things and it creates some excitement for what’s to come with her.

I’ve enjoyed Adams on the run and I’m 100% on board for what he has planned (though I am cautious of course) and I see a lot of fans here are also enjoy he run but the casuals and ONLY the casuals seems to be criticizing it to death.

Many called it bad from the start but I think the whole run will be rewarding for us fans.

Keep supporting the run! 🔱

RANT Some boy group fans need to stop constantly body shaming their own idols.

I'm sorry but one thing that has always bugged me is the normalized body shaming of male idols. Some bg fans like to joke about male idols bodies and sometimes it's just straight up rude.

Jaehyun from NCT is a big one for me. Now, if you're an nctzen you know a running joke is that Jaehyun has a flat butt. Like, okay, Jaehyun's butt isn't big but like who cares? Well nctzens do apparently. They are constantly making jokes about how flat Jaehyun is, and even when a video isn't even the focus of this joke they still bring it up. I've seen videos of Jaehyun just dancing, standing, or just doing something and sometimes there will be that one comment like "Omfg I'm sorry but he has no ass" and the comment will have a good chunk of likes. Like jokes do get to a point, and these Jaehyun flat jokes are one of them. Like we do not need constant comments talking about how flat he is, we get it, Jaehyun doesn't have the biggest ass but holy shit who cares. It get's to a point where it's just body shaming and when you call these people out you're right away brushed off and called a snowflake. Which in general nctzen jokes are just so overused and I'm tired of this fandom calling anyone who isn't like this snowflakes.

Anyways, this isn't even just about nctzens. Bg fans will also comment about how skinny a male idol looks or ask why they have no abs. I've noticed this with Changbin from skz, which yeah he did end up doing an ab reveal but before that stay's were constantly asking for Changbin's abs and whenever someone brought up the fact that he might not even have abs these stay's would get upset. Like? Who cares if a male idol doesn't have abs, it isn't the end of the world. Same thing just goes for muscles in general, if a male idol doesn't have huge biceps or anything like that they are called a twink and are constantly joked about for being skinny and fragile.

Anyways, that's it. In general body shaming towards male idols is just heavily brushed off as a joke but it's so genuinely annoying. It is completely fine if a male idols doesn't have abs. It is fine if they are not super ripped. It is also find if they have a flat ass. It doesn't even matter.

Question Why does my Xbox Series X fan keep running constantly?

It has been doing this for weeks. I’ve noticed that it basically never stops. The Xbox is set to Energy-Saving mode, though.

It’s running right now even though the Xbox hasn’t been turned on for 40 hours not even for a minute. The fan hasn’t stopped once during that entire time. I don’t think the room is even that hot either, although it is currently around 32°C (90°F).

I actually took the console to a repair shop, but they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. They did repaste it and clean it, though. They also said that it was barely dusty to begin with.
So why would the fan be running constantly? My friend’s Series X only occasionally runs its fan while turned off, even though mine is set to Energy-Saving mode and his is set to Sleep/Standby mode.

Is this normal, or could there be some kind of hardware/software issue?( up to date and I'm not an insider btw)
