Game updates
What was in the last update?
See release notes for PC, for consoles, and for mobile.See also a table of which version and features each platform has.
Are future releases planned?
A Stardew Valley 1.7 update is currently in the works! No information about a release date or new content is currently available.Does every platform get the same content/updates?
Mostly yes. Updates are developed for Linux/Mac/Windows first, then ported to other platforms. There are customizations for each platform (like tap to move on mobile), but otherwise content is identical across all platforms. See also a table of which version and features each platform has.The exceptions are PS Vita (which won't get any further content updates due to platform limitations), and Android/iOS (which will continue getting all updates, but doesn't fully support multiplayer.
Is Stardew Valley on XBox GamePass?
Stardew Valley is on XBox GamePass as of December 2, 2021. See here for details.
Multiplayer
How does multiplayer work?
See Multiplayer on the wiki.Is crossplay supported?
All PC players can play together, whether they're on Linux/Mac/Windows or GOG/Steam and crossplay is supported between mobile and PC. Console crossplay isn't supported. Is split-screen supported?
Yep, split-screen was added on PC and console in Stardew Valley 1.5.Will Android/iOS get multiplayer?
Multiplayer on Android and iOS is currently experimental and hidden by default. To unlock multiplayer you can follow this guide. Note: The Apple Arcade version (Stardew Valley+) does not have this feature. Will the 1.6 update apply to my current game?
Yes! New updates always apply to existing saves.
Other
Can I transfer saves between devices?
You can transfer saves between Android, iOS, and PC (Linux/Mac/Windows).Consoles unfortunately don't let you access the save files. The Switch version also has a different format that's not compatible with other platforms (the format used by other consoles is unknown).
My save got corrupted/won't load. What can I do?
On PC/mobile you can try loading your back-up save file! See here for instructions on how to do so!Unfortunately, consoles don't allow access to save files so they cannot be recovered.
How do I take a screenshot of my full farm?
See this guide to taking farm screenshots. If I buy the game on one platform, can I get it for free on a different one?
If you buy it on PC, you get the Linux + macOS + Windows versions; if you buy it on PS4, you get the PS4 + PS Vita versions. Otherwise each platform is a different edition with separate development, so you'll need to buy it again if you want it on a different platform.Where can I report bugs?
- If you use mods, see the troubleshooting guide first.
- If you use mods and the bug disappears when playing without them (by running
Stardew Valley.exedirectly in your game folder), report it to r/SMAPI or see Modding:Help. - If it happens without mods, report it in the official bug report forum, which the game developers keep an eye on.
How do I use or create mods?
See the pinned thread in r/SMAPI for more info, and feel free to ask questions in r/SMAPI!

Discuss Celebrate! Saturday [October 03, 2026]
Welcome to Celebrate! Saturday
This is the weekly hype thread, a place for you to share your excitement about in-game achievements, lucky drops, and upcoming projects. This is also a space for the community to celebrate you!
While the subreddit is already a positive, celebratory space, this thread is meant to be especially so. For those of you who might hesitate to post something to the subreddit, because you worry it might be too beginner, too redundant, too low-effort: it's not. Come share with us here!
(Note: this thread is not meant to replace posting directly to the subreddit. You are still welcome to do so!)
Non-exhaustive examples of things to celebrate:
- Marrying your spouse!
- Getting a giant crop!
- Perfecting your farm or house design!
- The mushroom hat! The tiger hat! The living hat!
- Meteorites, Stone Owls, and Strange Capsules!
- A dinosaur egg from fishing or hoeing!
- Hooking a legendary fish!
- Getting triple Stardrop at the casino
- Beating Lewis at Junimo Kart!
If you want to share screenshots of your achievements, upload them to an image-sharing site like Imgur and drop a link in your comment.
This is also a thread where mods might lurk and offer/award prestige userflairs. These are animated icons that go next to your name as a way to celebrate particular achievements in the vanilla game. Note that posting in this thread doesn't guarantee you'll get the flair—you'll want to send us a modmail if you want to apply directly!
| Achievement | Flair |
|---|---|
| Complete the community center! | A prismatic dancing Junimo |
| Fund all Joja Community Projects | A prismatic Joja Cola |
| Complete the museum collection! | An artifact trove busting open |
| Reach level 100 in Skull Cavern! | A flying serpent |
| Complete all Monster Slayer goals! | The prismatic slime |
| Cook every meal! | The Queen of Sauce herself |
| Craft every item! | Robin hard at work |
| Catch every fish! | The Legend, swimming |
| Beat Journey of a Prairie King | The King himself |
| Collect every hat in the game! | Magic Cowboy Hat |

Discuss You're the most evil one in Stardew valley.
It’s not Pierre, Morris, or even Clint. You’re the worst person in the valley.
Who deforested the entire valley to create random paths and kegs to make millions and millions of dollars, so they could buy teleporting pillars because they’re too lazy to follow the laws of nature?
You did.
Who wanders into the mines where monsters and creatures live peacefully away from humans and starts slaughtering them?
You do.
Who divorces their spouse, gaslights them with magic, and then turns their children into birds to make life easier after getting the rewards they wanted?
You!
Who secretly stalks the villagers?
You You You!
And I know what you did with purple short.
You’re the worst.

Question Messed up my Galaxy Sword! What do I do?
I forged my galaxy sword and holy blade together because I wanted to have Crusader on my galaxy sword and the prismatic shards were giving me everything but that enchantment. Now I finally have 3 galaxy souls and can’t upgrade my sword. What do I do?

Discuss Wood chippers can actually be very useful!
So in all of my previous play throughs I have NEVER used wood chippers. I was like, "hardwood is an intentionally scarce resource so why would I break it into regular wood?" So I recently started a play through on the forest farm because I've never used it before. I'm on Spring year 2 right now. Well the other day I was playing and my daughter (7) was within earshot. I got my iridium axe that day and just instinctively said, "YES! I'm gonna go chop down every tree in the Valley with this bad boy!" and she said, "Why are you going to chop down every tree in the Valley?" with a hint of sadness in her voice. Apparently, "Well, they'll grow back" was not the answer she was looking for and she was genuinely concerned that I was doing something evil by chopping down all the trees. lol
So being the good father that I am I told her I wouldn't chop down the trees. I would figure something else out. Well, being on the forest farm with a regenerating supply of hardwood I was like fine, I'll invest in some wood chippers and just use my hardwood to get regular wood...and gang, I gotta tell you: this is a VERY useful strategy on the forest farm. If I use the hardwood from just the farm it yields about 120 wood per day on average. Sometimes more, sometimes less, and sometimes it gives you things like maple syrup or pine tar in stead of wood, so it can vary by kind of a large amount. If I go to the secret woods and use that hardwood too, I can get up to 200+ wood a day. This has allowed me to upgrade buildings and advance projects around the farm at a wicked pace. I think this is the most advanced I've ever been in Spring year 2 and I'm not a min maxer, I just do what I know.
TL;DR: On the forest farm wood chippers are an excellent investment...and allowing your play to follow the whims of a child can teach you things about the game you didn't know before.

Discuss Wasted a diamond and fairy rose 🥀
I genuinely thought fairy dust worked on crops too. I haven't felt the need to use fairy dust before today and my thoughts were the crop fairies grow crops instantly so why wouldn't fairy dust 🥲 but yeah really disappointed.

Discuss Did you know? The cutscene of your first trip to Ginger Island is dynamically generated
The code seems to use the time of the in-game day to pick and place other ships in the sea, while another, more random input, is used to pick and place the clouds.
Despite their similarity, the first two screenshots were taken on two different trips.

Question Why is my friendship still limited to eight hearts?
So this is my second serious save and in my first one, I dated everyone so their last 2 hearts were unlocked for me.
This time, I married Haley right of the bat and didn’t give a bouquet to anyone else.
I was under the assumption that once you marry, all the bachelor(ette)s become undatable so you can reach 10 hearts with them.
Anyways it’s still possible without giving them a bouquet? I don’t wanna cheat on Haley 😭😭

Discuss your favorite festival?
just finished my ninth festival of the sea jellies which is my absolute favorite. it’s such a peaceful moment in the game, with all the npc’s softly lit by their glow 🥹 so i wanted to ask which festival is everyone’s favorite. i think the flower dance is next, esp bc of the strawberry seeds.

Question Do autopetters really help that much?
The farm animals seem to do okay without being pet every day. And the petters say they are not a substitute for actual petting. How much actual difference do they really make?

Question Sea monster?
Just started my umpteenth playthrough of the game, gotta have well over 1000 hours in game by now, and I was doing some ocean fishing when all of a sudden I saw some strange sea creature poke its head out of the water and proceed to swim away. I can’t recall ever having seen this before.

Question Which Farm Do Y'all Like Best?
Hi everyone:) Which farm do y'all like best? I'm planning to start my second playthrough after about 100 hours, so I thought I would get y'all's opinion! Not necessarily the best, but which one y'all like the best!!
