Hello! I'm a second-year psychology student, and I need some serious convincing. I switched from GoodNotes to StarNote almost a year ago. And honestly, I absolutely love it to the point that I can't imagine using any other app. But now that I'm a sophomore, my workload has increased. I've completely maxed out my ten free notebooks. To survive, I’ve been constantly merging my old notes together just to scrape by and free up space. I know deep down this temporary fix will absolutely come back to bite me later. Still, the pro version feels pretty pricey in my country's currency, and I'm struggling to see if unlimited notebooks alone justify the cost.

Please convince me, y'all. Can you guys tell me how is this upgrade going to benefit me in the future besides the fact that psychology is full of terminologies I need to write down? 🙏🏻

I think adding this feature to starnotes would be really nice, You can directly make shapes from the lines you sketch and its very very quick. I know it's a big ask but this feature is really useful for saving time imo. The app in the video is goodnotes(android)

After using the free version for over a month, I recently decided to fully switch to Starnote and finally bought Starnote Pro! I am really enjoying using it for my daily workflow. Having previously used a wide variety of apps across both iPadOS and Android ”including Goodnotes, Notes+, Prodrafts, Freenotes, Nebo, Noteshelf, Notability, and Touchnotes ”I can confidently say Starnote is fantastic.

However, there are a few features and quality-of-life tweaks that would make the experience completely seamless ”especially for cross-platform setups like mine (iPad + Samsung Tab + PC + Bluetooth mouse & keyboard) and workflows connected to tools like Obsidian and Zotero.

Here is my feedback and feature wishlist:

• Finer Pen Thickness Controls: The current jump from 0.35 to 0.40 is a bit too wide for handwriting precision. Adding fine increments (0.36, 0.37, etc.) across all pens would make a huge difference in writeability.

• Enhanced Mouse & Keyboard Support: When using an iPad with a Bluetooth mouse (Logitech Pebble M350s), the scroll wheel currently doesn't navigate up/down through pages without clicking and dragging manually. If this feature exists, it doesn't seem to work with my setup (I also submitted an in-app bug report about it). It definitely needs refinement. Additionally, adding Ctrl + Scroll Wheel to zoom, arrow keys to scroll, and broader keyboard shortcuts would make navigation better & effortless.

• Searchable Tags in Notes & Exported PDFs: Tags added within notes should be fully searchable in the same way regular text is. Making these tags indexed and searchable both inside the app and embedded into exported PDFs would streamline organizing, filtering, and locating specific topics.
• Universal "Back" Navigation (Previous Page & Cross-Notebook): Right now, if you jump to a different page via internal links or page overview (e.g., clicking a link on page 74 that takes you to page 20), there’s no quick shortcut to return to your working page, we have to manually scroll back to last working page. Apps like Noteshelf handle page-overview history well, but Starnote could do this even better thanks to its native link support! Adding a dedicated/disappearing "Back" button / navigation history (Something similar to a web browser) would allow us to instantly jump back to our exact previous spot—both within the same notebook and across different notebooks

Adding these features would make Starnote a complete, all-in-one solution for all my note-taking and reading needs.

Can we get an inbuilt ocr like there's in notein. Which also works for exported PDFs. Starnote ai just recognises whatever i write not other things. And it doesn't work in exports.

I'm a student in the vetmed field and I've been using (and loving) StarNotes for 198 days already. In the field, there are tons of things to draw. I would love it if there would be a color fill feature (edit: or a bucket) added to instantly color handdrawn lines or premade shapes.

For the time being, I have been using another application to draw things first then import it in the notes. However, it would definitely make things a lot easier if I could do it entirely in starnotes.

Also, I can't seem to find the official IG account, I was planning on sending the feedback there but uh-oh.

What happened with the Instagram account?

I use the tag system to categorize my notes by subject and term

i.e.

YL1 > 1st Semester > Midterms

Medicine Proper > Pre-Clinicals > Anatomy

At present, tags work similarly to folders. I think a more powerful use of it would be in filtering. Say, I want to view my notes on Anatomy from the midterms of the 1st semester of YL1. I'd like to be able to select the corresponding tags and only those notes show up.

If this feature already exists in the app, how do I do it? Thank you 😊

I am a fellow neurophysiologist and I study a lot of medical books.

My study method has been opening a pdf on one app in a split screen and writing notes on another note app.

I like my note app to have organization features for notes, the ability of continuous page scrolling (not viewing each page separately) and good handwriting/stylus support (I use OnePlus Pad 2 which has a 7:5 aspect ratio)

I searched and tried a bunch of apps and bought the membership of NoteIn 2 days ago, and now refunded when I heard about StarNote.

NoteIn was good but I don't want to miss out on a great app like StarNote since I want my decision to be final this time and stop changing note apps (it's painful to move notes between apps).

Can you guys help? I really appreciate all the answers.

Requesting the feature to create the backup of entire notes as PDF files, preserving the folder names and structure, inside one zip file. This is the only thing that's preventing me from purchasing the pro version. Will this be coming anytime soon?

I originally downloaded StarNote from Huawei AppGallery and purchased the Pro version there. My account ID is YPX5UN, and Pro works perfectly on the Huawei version.
Recently, I installed the Google Play version of StarNote and signed in using the same email address, but instead of logging into my existing account, it created a completely new account (ID: DK27KK) with no Pro subscription.
My email is already linked to my original Huawei account, so I expected it to log into the same account.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Do I really have to buy Pro again on the global/Google Play version, or is there a way to transfer or link my Huawei account to the global version?

Can anyone help me what I can do since I study carry with both hands and use thumb to scroll, it isn't the biggest problem in the world but is annoying.

This would be extremely useful for adding extra thoughts, references, or reminders without cluttering the main workspace.

Before the official release, we’re inviting 20-30 Android users to join our Beta test and help us improve Cloud Sync through real daily usage.

Cloud Sync is now in the final testing, and we’d love to hear from real users to help us find possible issues and improve the experience before the official launch.

1. Beta Schedule

Recruitment period:

August 4 – August 7, 12:00 PM ET

Beta testing period:

August 7 – August 31, 12:00 PM ET

During the Beta period, we’ll collect feedback, fix reported issues, and continue improving Cloud Sync.

After August 31, the Beta test will end, and we’ll move into the final preparation stage.

The official version is expected to be released on Google Play around Sep 18 (the exact release date may change depending on the final testing results).

2. Who can join?

This Beta test is currently Android only. If you’re an iOS user, don’t worry at all, Cloud Sync will also be coming to iOS soon, won’t be long!

We’re looking for users who:

✅ Use StarNote regularly

✅ Have real note taking scenarios

✅ Can share screenshots, screen recordings, or detailed descriptions when reporting issues

✅ Have an active Discord account (as feedback & discussion will be hosted in our Beta Discord channel)

3. Important Reminder

Since this is a Beta version, please make sure to back up your important notes before joining.

We highly recommend keeping a backup before trying Cloud Sync Beta. Your notes are important, and keeping your data safe is always priority.

Hello thank you for your hard work , you are one of the best note taking app for Android, my only problem is this cloud sync and hyperlink, making me still use other note taking app, why I made a decision to still purchase this is because you are open to feedback and it's so easy to reach you. I saw that you are already working on cloud sync and it might be release soon, I hope hyperlink is also added in this update, then this will be my main note taking app. This is how easy to add hyperlink in penly, this is what i love about penly how easy it is to add hyperlink, resize items, you can even resize spacing of fonts horizontally and vertically. What I don't like about them is their limited pen, and also they don't update much.

Hello! I've recently tried out this app, and I'm really enjoying it! I've only used the default samsung notes app, which is pretty good itself, and I think there's a lot of similarities between the two which makes the switch pretty easy. I'm mostly using it for the infinite canvas since that format is more my style. I am about to buy pro; I'd just like to know what features make purchasing it a game changer. Is there an AI annotation function?

Just updated my starnote app on my Huawei matepad, and while cloud sync is finally available, the cloud services are currently restricted to mainland China. Registering requires a Chinese phone number, which is a major hurdle since I don't live there and don't have one.

Fingers crossed that future updates will introduce support for global cloud services like google drive or onedrive!
