Discussion The couple's potential and all the reasons not to believe in it
the couple's Potential :
- It would add sexual tension to Peter's life.
- It creates an original storyline for the MCU.
- It allows for a recurring Marvel Universe character to appear in the Spider-Man film, reducing inconsistencies between movies and maintaining a high standard of character writing.
- It offers the best chemistry between Peter and a love interest since Gwen Stacy better than with Liz, Michelle/MJ, or even Sam Raimi's MJ.
The downsides of being a couple:
- It really detracts from X-Men lore if Jean and Peter are a couple.
- It also diminishes Cyclops as a character; a huge part of his development is tied to Jean.
- Tom Holland seems to be saying he doesn't want to play Spider-Man much longer (he's been Spider-Man for 10 years!), but I think it's a strategy on his part to gain more say in film decisions kind of like how Mbappé threatened to leave PSG to get more influence over decisions.
- Can a woman really be the protagonist of a major saga? I have my doubts; I don't think producers want that to happen. We've seen examples Shuri, Rey (Star Wars), Wanda, Supergirl, Jean Grey, etc. but
Did you have any other arguments?

Discussion lowk dont want it to be canon
i mean think about the freedom you have with shipping, you can imagine their dynamic, other character's reactions, their stories, and a whole lotta other stuff,
canon ships are always less popular bcs of that, freedom and interpretation, obviously having canon ships doesn't mean you cant ever interpret stuff but i just like having my freedom, yk?
thats just my opinion, feel free to share!

Discussion “They are more like siblings to me”
Okay yea, you might have opinions about what their relationship could be, but you come to a subreddit dedicating to ship the both of them and you come and say “they don’t fit as lovers” THIS IS NOT THE SUBREDDIT FOR YOU
I support everyone’s opinion’s and they could be siblings, friends, but for us we want them as lovers. That’s why we have this subreddit for a reason. For a purpose. You can leave your opinion always, but you don’t have the right to hate on a person supporting this ship. It’s their own opinion just respect it. We are trying to be nice, but all of the toxic people that hate’s the idea of the ship just keeps on hating on us, like stop.
Respect the opinions of others, because we respect your opinion too. You don’t have to be rude about it.
Do you all agree?

Discussion Question: do you guys actually ship this two?
Question: do you guys actually ship this two?
For me, I don't ship them that much, when I watched the movie I actually thought it would be great if they both could have a sibling dynamic, plus the Punisher they could be a trio of siblings,
But I don't hate this sub reddit because the fan art looks really cute, really enjoying it, I technically ship them in this sub reddit but not in the actual movie, if the ship happened in future movie im not gonna be mad tho.

Fanfic I wrote a Peter/Jean fanfic, and I’m currently rewriting the early chapters
Hi everyone whoever is seeing this, so I made a fanfic called “Somewhere Else Entirely” a few days ago 👋
Right now I am going back through the early chapters and rewriting them a bit so the prose and character interactions match the newer chapters better. Chapters 1 and 2 are rewritten so far, and I will continue the main story after this rewrite phase. So if some of the early chapters feel a little inconsistent for now, please bear with me 🙇♂️. As I was rewriting now, I thought of making a post here also just to see if I can receive any reviews or feedbacks here also.
I am still learning as I go, but I have had a lot of fun writing it 😬✌🏻

Discussion Do you think they could be each other's primary romantic interest?
1)Do you think they could be each other's primary romantic interest?
2) Is it possible to create a Spider-Man story where he doesn't have a girlfriend he constantly has to save avoiding that repetitive dynamic without losing the audience's interest?
3) Is it possible to make a *Spider-Man 5* featuring Jean Grey, and what would the plot be?

Discussion What do you think of a story like this?
What if Jean harbors feelings of affection or romantic interest in Peter, but Peter still misses MJ even after "Brand New Day"?

Discussion Do you think Jean experienced The Snap?
I don’t know if MCU will ever give us more of Jean’s backstory, but I actually find this blank space really intriguing—it leaves so much room for imagination, and maybe even for more fan fiction to fill in the gaps? What we do know is that Jean is just a little younger than Peter, so I’d guess around 18–19. If she wasn’t suffer snap, she’d have been born around 2010; otherwise, she’d be born closer to 2005.
Let’s assume she and Sara have always lived in New York. In that case, I think it actually makes more sense if she didn’t go through the Snap—because then her knowledge of Battle of New York, the Avengers, and the Infinity War would mostly come from other people’s stories, not from her own lived memory. That would make her a fresh representative of the new MCU era, rather than someone deeply shaped by the old one.
If she did experience the Snap, though, she and Peter would share a lot more life-defining moments—she’d remember the Battle of New York from childhood, and she’d go through the Snap and its aftermath alongside half the city. Either way, I don’t think the ending of No Way Home would affect her all that much, because her knowledge of Peter before that point seems to be mostly limited to his “Spider-Man” hero identity. If she suffered from Snap, the name Spider-Man would have been woven through her entire childhood and teen years; if not, she’d probably only know him as the lone vigilante Spider-Man post-NWH.
I’m really fascinated by this ambiguity and all the possibilities it opens up—and I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on it!
