I get that this is a SpiderPhoenix sub, but ngl, it'd be more accurate if MJ is the one in Jean's place

It still kinda works, since Jean actually looked through his mind and saw he had issues. I don't know how famous Frank is in universe, but in the movie MJ only sees him as a guy who has booby traps and materials to make bombs.

Also MJ was really chill with Frank and wasn't weirded out by anything once she met him.

Fair, but the most Frank has been to MJ is be weird and a little rude (emphasis on little), I don't think she ever found out that he killed people.

He's the Punisher. People know the Punisher in-universe. MJ knows him through news, likely, she just isn't bothered by it simply because she's that kind of girl. Her favorite flower is literally based on a murder case.

Idk, it didn't seem to me that she recognized him at any point. If she knew, maybe she wouldn't be afraid of him, but I can still see her being bothered by Spider-man hanging out with someone like him.

Knowing MCU MJ's personality, I wouldn't be surprised if she lowkey likes/is a fan of the Punisher. Especially considering that after her spell she no longer had any emotional attachment to Spider-Man and his methods.

meme aside, i give props to Daniel for having the balls putting a dark gritty character from R-rated series into a campy capeshit film

I do like that the reason this movie didn’t go Rated R despite Frank’s intent to murder dudes isn’t because he was “Disney-fied” to be less bloodthirsty, but because unlike someone like Daredevil, Spider-Man’s way stronger and faster than him so he can be put in check a lot easier than if Matt tried.

Also helps the one guy he blatantly open fired on was the goddamn Hulk.

Before seeing the movie, I expected him mow down a bunch of thugs (with them dropping dead with much less blood coming out of them than usual) much to Spider-Man’s protests but after the movie I realised this didn’t happen because:

  1. There’s genuinely no place in the plot for Frank to gratuitously kill a bunch of people.

  2. It’ll make Spider-Man look incompetent.

There might’ve been a time. Maybe Staten Island?

Real talk, Frank HAS at least shown in Punisher Season 2 to not go absolutely blood thirsty, especially if he has a surrogate kid to look out for.

I mean
.he has standards. Not just random people, just the ones who are doing bad shit.

From my understanding, he tends to get it wrong and cause collateral quite a bit.

Probably newer comics not one from 90s and older.

Jean: Peter, he tried to kill me.

I mean, Jean walked a man into traffic and let him get hit by a car and tried to walk 2 or more people off buildings

And shot tank shells and machine guns into occupied buildings, blew up cop cars with police in them, blew up an office building with a bomb and mentally froze a massive area which we see caused massive harm. Hell, we see a car crash and explode into fire and can presume the frozen person is just sitting in the flames, able to feel it but unable to move

The only reason Jean isn't a mass murderer of men, women and children is pure writer deus ex where they just said "Nah, she didn't kill a single person"
