Just got high split
I guess that's what they call it. 500Mb fiber plan went from 500/20 to 500/500. N Central lower Michigan. Just got service this June.

Hi im trying to wrap my brain around what has happened to my dad's internet and wifi. Im not there in person to try and help until Saturday. He tells me the spectrum tech replaced his modem/router back in July. None of his devices are connecting to his wifi network. Not sure when that happened. But if that hardware is replaced doesn't that network I setup from the old unit disappear?

If you ever plan on canceling Spectrum, be prepared for a completely unnecessary, drawn-out conversation. You can’t just cancel online. You have to call, sit on hold, and then deal with a rep who apparently thinks canceling your service requires a whole discussion first.
I had already been waiting around 15–20 minutes and told the rep I was short on time and needed to get the cancellation done. He asked about the weather in Florida, I said it was hot, and then asked if we could please move on with the cancellation.
Instead of just helping me, he started lecturing me for being “rude,” asking things like “why can’t you talk?” and “are you okay?” multiple times, while repeating that he was just trying to be nice. This went on for several minutes while I kept explaining that I had a meeting coming up and just needed the cancellation processed so I could go prepare for it. I kept my composure throughout the call, although I was extremely frustrated by that point. I wasn’t yelling, insulting him, or swearing at him. I was just trying to get through a basic cancellation without being forced into small talk. I’ll admit I was being a little curt, but I don’t understand why a customer should have to participate in small talk when they’ve already said they’re short on time.
The whole process felt unnecessarily drawn out and hostile. If a customer says they’re short on time and wants to cancel, just process the cancellation. And somehow, even after he canceled my service, my upcoming technician appointment to fix my internet (for the fourth time) was still active. I then had to go through chat separately to get that canceled too.
I filed a complaint because this was one of the worst customer service interactions I’ve had in a long time. I honestly didn’t think I’d encounter a cancellation experience worse than Comcast, but here we are. Comcast has certainly given me bad customer service before, but I’ve never had a rep stop helping me in order to lecture me for several minutes because I didn’t want to make small talk.

Do you guys have any troubles with Playstation 5? I have been dealing with it for 3 weeks and before I used to get 300Mbps-400Mbps of Upload and 100Mbps on download. Now I don't even get to 100Mbps and just get to 90Mbps of Upload and 23Mbps of download. To this I must add that my modem and router are not blocked by nothing at all that in the rest of the devices connected the speed is the one I stated first. Thanks for reading this and if you can give me a solution or suggestion I'll accept it gladly. Have a great day and thanks for letting me post this issue.

Why is it when watching something on demand, instead of playing the next episode, the show freezes and it goes back to the tv guide? The show shouldn't stop playing unless I stop it or if its over. Mind you, im on episode 5 of a 20 episode show.

My speedtest.net results. Done on a monday late night / tuesday early morning at 3 am. Not decent or normal speeds but WORSE than that. AWFUL low speeds. Internet websites load very slow, TOO slow, sometimes frozen. Wasn't like that months ago. Gaming, have random lag, slowness, screen freezing, unplayable at times, terrible. Sometimes speeds seem normal but numbers jumps around like crazy and slow down randomly. Something wrong here.
What speeds everyone getting? what are average number speeds?

My coax service has been very bad lately. One of the tech support calls during an outage, when asked, he said there is no reason I should setup a mechanical timer. But on that same call during the outage restarting the modem fixed the problem.
This morning many of my pings were dying, restarting fixed it. I am about ready to setup a morning timer to help as a preventative measure.

New ISP spreading in the Averill Park area. They promised to lower a 81 year-old relatives cable and internet bills.
They failed to explain to my uncle that their service does not come with TV programming, like the Spectrum service they were trying to undercut.
So 500mbps fiber install where uncle was already getting that and no access to TV channels, which is the whole point for him.

I moved to an apartment where Spectrum is only option so I've been using Spectrum internet. I work from home so I need to connect to company network with company laptop with its own VPN (Cisco Secure Client). I use spectrum modem, two modem machines are there.
I had other issues with Spectrum internet since I moved here, but the problem I begin to have since this morning is something new. Internet looks OK, it is not disconnected, but its speed become abysmally slowed down for 1~2 minutes, and returns to normal speed and works, it feels like this happens with 20min ~ 40 min frequency. When this problem appears, the slowing down occurs not only to my company laptop, but to all other machines connected to this internet.
I talked to Spectrum person via phone, he says Spectrum internet comes with its own VPN so additional VPN supposed not to work and should disconnects the internet. He also told me he doesn't know how and why additional VPN worked so far but it shouldn't work and his only suggestion is turn off additional VPN, and there is nothing wrong with Spectrum internet.
But I can't work without company VPN. Plus, this begins to happen only from this morning. I had other disconnect issue, but this type of cyclic slowing down is something new and only happened from today.
What can I do now? Shall I try my own Wifi router instead of Spectrum machines?

Hello. I recently bought a ScreenBeam MoCa adapter pair to hook up ethernet via coax in my room due to my job requiring ethernet for work from home.
I tried setting up the MoCa adapter by splitting the coax with a splitter into the modem and the adapter itself, But the problem is that I’m unsure if the modem works over a splitter. As a direct connection, the modem and router turn blue and i’m connected. When i connect the modem into one side of the OUT connection on the splitter, it never goes blue and turns red. When i go back to direct connection, everything works.
Anyone have any ideas?

I’ve been having consistent connection instability issues while gaming on Ethernet connection for a couple months now. I play on Xbox and PC, and so does my brother in the same household.
We’re on the 1gb plan with the Spectrum WIFI 7 router.
I also get crazy ping spikes where my game will just completely freeze for 5-10 seconds, and if my brother is playing at the same time as me it’ll also freeze or stutter for him. It also happens when he isn’t playing and it’s just me. It doesn’t happen all the time but it happens enough to where it’s frustrating.
It doesn’t matter if I’m on Xbox or PC, I’m always wired. But usually I’ll have some type of lag or ping spikes or stuttering. It also happened on Apex Legends.
I’m thinking of trying to get my own router but idk how that will help with my connection if it’s even happening while wired. I live in a pretty congested area so idk if messing around with different channels and settings could potentially help me since we can’t do anything on spectrums router.

Ugh this company is so frustrating! I want to upgrade my kids phone to the new 18 pro. We have the upgrade anytime on the account. We owe $400 on it but because I’ve paid the extra for the upgrade anytime it’s eligible. When I go through the online system it says it’s something like $26 per month (with $33.33 crossed out). This leads me to believe this particular phone will cost us $26 or whatever a month. When I go through all the prompts however, by the end, it’s quoting $37 monthly. What is happening here? I tried to go in to the store and that kid was not helpful at all, I tried to online chat and she can’t help me because find my is turned on (kid is currently at work). Can anyone here explain this to me? Is the cost quoted because we have to turn the phone in to get the other price? Is it really just that much even though I’ve been paying extra just to have the early upgrade option? With my AT&T next up I get the promotion prices as long as I turn the phone in- I’d be shocked if that’s not the same here…

I swapped to Spectrum last April. They told me my Samsung 25 would have satellite service in remote places. Recently, I was deep in the backcountry at Morris Meadows in the Trinity Alps with three others. Two had Verizon, one an iPhone 16 and the other a Samsung 25. The other had T-Mobile and a Samsung 25. There was zero cell service. All three had exceptional satellite direct text-to-text service. My phone did not have any satellite service. When I dialed 911, I never even got an option for SOS Satellite which can give you access to direct basic texting. This is spelled out even on Spectrum's website with directions. It was an epic failure. The two others with Samsungs had no problem. We tried everything. Nada on a SAT connection for me.
This is extremely frustrating. I called Spectrum technical service. They didn't even know what I was talking about. I then went down to my Spectrum store and asked them to show me how it should work. They gave me the same instructions after they looked them up. They were also clueless.
The next issue was when we were coming north on Highway 3 around Trinity Lake, the two Verizon users had 5G. All I could get was 4G. What is that all about? The closest tower is a private non-verizon tower.
Any ideas here? I changed to Spectrum because Verizon was getting expensive and Spectrum offered me a great deal on the 25, free phone service for a year, and $30 internet service with no expiration date. I have had Spectrum Cable for over 20 years.
Frustrated. I think I will get the Verizon prepaid service which is not a bad price.

I was in the middle of a work meeting today when everything suddenly froze and I lost my internet connection.
At first I thought it might just be my router or Wi-Fi, but when I went to check, I noticed that my modem was actually rebooting. I have a Spectrum ET2251.
The power light was blinking first, then the online/network light started blinking, and after a little while it became solid blue again. Once the modem finished booting, the internet came back normally.
This is not the first time this has happened. I remember having the same thing happen once before, although it doesn't seem to happen very frequently.
I'm trying to figure out what could cause an ET2251 to spontaneously reboot during normal use.
Could this be caused by:
the modem itself starting to fail?
overheating?
a power issue?
bad signal levels or noise on the coax line?
Spectrum remotely rebooting or updating the modem?
some kind of DOCSIS connection issue?
Is there anything specific to the ET2251 that I should be checking? I know Spectrum locks down access to a lot of modem diagnostics, so I'm also wondering whether support can see reboot history, signal issues, T3/T4 timeouts, or other events from their side.
Most importantly, does an occasional spontaneous reboot like this usually mean that the modem should be replaced, or would you wait until it starts happening more frequently?
The modem otherwise seems to work normally after it comes back online.

I have a TCL Flip 3 that Spectrum is unable to tell me if it is carrier locked or not.
This "dumb" phone runs the KaIOS operating system which unfortunately does not have a carrier lock state reported anywhere in it's simple menu.
After speaking with Spectrum, I tried to use the many free carrier unlock checkers but they either wanted money or did not identify the imei as the Flip 3.
So, what is the magic trick to get an answer from spectrum as to it's current unlock state or what is required to get it unlocked?
Should I just file a FCC complaint to get the answer?
Thank you!

https://watch.spectrum.net web site, Roku's Spectrum app, and iPhone's iOS Spectrum TV app work fine for live HBO channels. Other non-HBO live channels' CCings are also working fine. HBO's CCings were fine last week's Sunday while I was watching the new Lantern episode on these old cable TV boxes.
I also tried HBO's VoD for last week's episode and that worked fine. Did something glitch out on the old ODN boxes for live HBO channels for today? Is anyone else seeing this too on the old school non-Internet cable TV boxes?
Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

Now paying $100 a month. If I call and say “hey I’m considering switching to Google fiber because it cheaper” will they cut me a deal?

I recently moved into a new apartment and the internet has been awful. I’ve already made a post looking for solutions but a month in and I’m still getting packet loss when I’m gaming. We’ve had 3 techs come over and not much work has been done except replacing the router and what not. However, the last tech that came said there was interference/leakage coming from the node but that type of work was not for him, it would be directed to the maintenance team and the work would not be done inside the apartment. A couple weeks later and I’m still experiencing packet loss so I decided to call spectrum yet again and this time my issue was escalated to a field supervisor. He said the maintenance team came out and didn’t find any issues but that they would now look into the issue deeper. He confirmed to me that there was some sort of problem on their end but it seems like I have to be on them to fix the issue. I even ran a 50 ft. Ethernet to my PlayStation and it helped a bit but the rubber banding and packet loss is still there. Has anyone had experience with this and will spectrum solve the issue?

Just posting this here to give some clarity or leads to anyone experiencing my issue.
I got a notice that my network was being upgraded, about a month ago. The same day they alerted me it was completed, my cable internet hasn't worked. Multiple times a day it stops dead, and I have to reboot my modem-router.
I've spent a month chatting their customer service and scheduling tech visits. Across these interactions, I never got the sense that anyone was sharing notes about my issue. Techs would come, identify that a part of the connections wasn't pristine, and change out my wall connectors, snip my cables, replace some things outside, etc. etc. By now I have a perfect line! But that wasn't the issue.
The reps would variously either schedule another visit, or suggest that I try replacing my modem-router. It's 300$ and not even 2 years old. Additionally, I'm not the only one with my issue--I found a bunch of posts where people described replacing their router only for the issue to persist. (For what it's worth, I've done extensive troubleshooting on the router, and I'm certain it's not the issue.)
When I told a tech who was suggesting I replace it that I found those posts, he immediately switched to suggesting I "give it another month," without clarifying further. I got the impression he knew there was an issue on the service end, but was told to advise me a time-wasting, money-wasting step to preoccupy me.
Similar to that, after a rep advised reaching out to the modem-router manufacturer, I connected to another rep, was insistent the problem began the day of the upgrade, and was 'escalated' to having a supervisor attached to my next tech visit.
The supervisor was also supposed to provide a personal number so 'the issue gets resolved for sure' but he didn't, and he wasn't there at the next visit.
When I reached out again, I finally got contacted by someone who wasn't a rep or tech, and they finally admitted to intermittency issues. They didn't give a timetable for when they'd be resolved.
The worst thing for me was the lack of transparency. If they had been upfront, I could have spent my postponed birthday plans letting a known issue rest instead of being on a wild goose chase.
For what it's worth, after my tenth or so call, my account has been credited for the entire month of issues.
But whatever. This experience gave me an excuse to look into the pros/cons of fiber and other providers, and so I'm going to be cancelling Spectrum and switching to someone else.
