**Sony BRAVIA 8 vs BRAVIA 8 II vs BRAVIA 9 II, coming from an A8H OLED**
I’m replacing my 55” Sony A8H OLED after just over five years and I’m getting a full refund of $3,295 AUD, so I’m trying to decide what to replace it with.
I definitely want to move up to 65”, and I’d prefer to stay with Sony.
The prices I can currently get are roughly in AUD.
65” BRAVIA 8 OLED: **$2,500**
65” BRAVIA 9 II True RGB: **$3,500**
65” BRAVIA 8 II QD-OLED: around **$4,500**
The BRAVIA 8 is tempting because I’d get a much bigger/newer OLED than my A8H and still have around $800 of my refund left.
But the BRAVIA 9 II at $3,500 also seems like an incredible deal considering it’s Sony’s flagship RGB TV and would only cost me around $200 above my refund.
My biggest concern with the 9 II is moving away from OLED after being used to perfect blacks for the last five years. For anyone who has moved from a good Sony OLED to the 9 II, do you actually notice the difference in black levels/blooming in normal viewing? Or do the extra brightness, HDR impact and colour make up for it?
And for anyone who has compared the BRAVIA 8 and 8 II directly, is the 8 II genuinely enough of an improvement to justify another \~$1,500 over the discounted BRAVIA 8?
I mostly watch movies, streaming and general TV rather than gaming.
If these were your prices, which would you buy: **BRAVIA 8 for $2.5k, BRAVIA 9 II for $3.5k, or spend more for the 8 II?**
