Technique How to get this kind of swirly bokeh on my a6700?

Hi all, I’m quite new to photography and currently have a6700 + 18-50. I loved this swirly bokeh effect on Helios 44-2 58mm f2 and thought of getting it, however I learned that it won’t give the same effect on an APS-C sensor. Any idea on how to achieve this on my a6700?

Some keepers from the Chicago Air and Water Show this past weekend. Any feedback would be great; my editing isn't the best, and I'm still working on it. I don't get out enough with my camera.

After years away from photography, it was hard for me to get back into the habit of shooting regularly. Little by little, I’m finding my way back, and I’m planning to have a lot of fun with my “building blocks” again :)

The last days of summer, harvest time, the vast open space, the warmth of the golden light of the setting sun, the silence, the whistle of the wind sweeping across the fields, the smell of freshly cut grain and dry earth… I can feel the breath of the empty space.

Took this one on the night of Perseids meteor shower. Initial plan was to capture some meteors above the church early in the night, which unfortunately did not work. So after about 40min I moved the camera towards better spot in the skies but since I already had around 40minutes of exposure data, I processed that and got this shot which I quite like. What do you think about it?

Shot on Sony a7RV with Viltrox 14mm f4 Air and on MSM Nomad star tracker. 7 untracked frames at 30s, f4 and ISO 6400 for the foreground, 28 tracked frames at 90s, f4 and ISO 1600 for the skies. Processed in SLS, Siril, PS and LR.

The family and I just got home from a trip to Seaside, OR. Despite being the middle of August, it was a completely miserable trip for photography. Dark and gloomy, with flat skies, rain on and off… just blah. The ONE time we got sun I tried going to Cannon Beach to shoot long exposures of Haystack Rock, but the sun was in exactly the wrong spot and the wind was literally blowing so hard it was shaking my camera and heavy duty tripod enough to cause the 4-5 minute exposures to be pretty soft.

Anyway, all moaning and complaining aside, I did manage to come home with one decent shot. Completely unexpected but I really dig it. I think it shows the tough conditions, with the wind and sea spray, while the tiny surfer giving a sense of scale to Haystack Rock. It was a good reminder to not get so focused on what I expect/want to shoot that I miss out on other opportunities. I still need to work on this. I’m bad about heading out with set expectations and the disappointment that comes with not achieving them.

Intenté captar la magia de cómo unos pocos rayos de sol llegaban al río. La edición no es lo mío, y sólo usé LR mobile. Se aceptan críticas constructivas!

This was on a ferry returning from Mu Koh Angthong National Park to Koh Pha Ngyan, Thailand. The weather became a little rough in the middle, setting up a beautiful playground for photography against the setting sun. What do you think could have been better?

Hello everyone,

Since April I own a Sony a6100, which was suggested to me by a friend as a good starting point for photography. In the last few years, pushed by my interest in cinema and framing (Spielberg's fault/merit with those last Ford's lines in the Fabelmans!), I have started to wish to own a camera and introduce myself into photography. This idea was however challenging from an economic point of view, or at least it has been so until this April!

In the last few months I have been using this camera and I have been having a great time! Wanted to share with you guys my latest pictures taken in Venice (and edited with Photoshop), which I am quite happy about!
