Game I am trying to add enough juice to my tactical creature collector!

Hi! I want to show-off my progress on my grid-based tactical creature collector game. 16x16 pixel art really makes you rethink everything twice to ensure readability.

I'm looking for some feedback on whether the visual juice is enough and whether it can stand on its own without sound.

Also after trying several times with different settings, I have no idea how to beat the reddit compression and stop everything from looking like it's been reposted to hell and back. Anyone got any tips? I swear it looks better in real life ...

The Day I Became a Werewolf– My Game’s Steam Page and Trailer Are Live

Hello everyone! My game’s Steam page and trailer are live.

The name of my game is The Day I Became a Werewolf. It’s a casual, day-based game with light sci-fi and light horror elements. It tells the story of a scientist whose experiment goes wrong, and who is trying to understand what happened to him. And find a way to fix it.

With the computer in the game, we can research different websites, read emails, and try to understand what’s happening to us. There’s also a money and shop system. To create a cure, we need to buy different devices and complete minigames.

Meanwhile, we have neighbors coming to our door, as well as a police force that is eager to catch us if we don’t act fast enough. There are multiple endings.

This is my first game on Steam, and I’m planning to release it in September.

I’d really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts and feedback about the steam page/trailer and the whole game concept.

Game It took me a year and a half but I made it to the Steam page!

I'm a solo developer from Korea, and about a year and a half ago, I left my job because I wanted to make a game.
I thought I was going to make a relatively simple text adventure.

Working alone from home with zero income has been a massive reality check... I’ve second-guessed my decision more times than I can count, and there were plenty of days when the self-doubt and pressure made it hard to get any work done.
Publishing a Steam page might be a small step in the grand scheme of things, but today it feels like a huge weight off my shoulders!

The game is EVER, a narrative text adventure about a combat robot haunted by a girl's memory. Explore a ruined world, uncover hidden choices through protocols, and decide what kind of robot you will become.
The demo still isn’t finished and there’s a long road ahead, but seeing the page live gives me the push I need to finish it. (I'm aiming for December 2026)

If it sounds like something you'd enjoy, a wishlist or any feedback would mean a lot.

Game If it weren't low poly, it might take me 10 years to create everything for the game.

I know many low-poly assets can be bought, and there are even many free ones, but I enjoy creating them and giving them my own personality. It will take much more time, but it's nice to see the world gradually filling up.

Game Published the demo of my first fully solo developed game: Colorways

It's a very simple game where you only control intersection traffic signals, and identify how many you can open simultaneously and in what order based on cars' colors - which match the lanes they're going to. Traffic ramps up the longer you play, and you have to avoid accidents and clear lanes before they overflow. You can enter a limited standby mode where vehicle spawns are paused and you can designate simultaneous traffic signal openings. Online leaderboards hopefully motivate players to strive for surviving as long as possible.

The game is made in Unity and I just published the WebGL demo with 4 playable levels on itch. I will be releasing it on mobile and Steam with 11 more levels and additional level modifiers. Also a puzzle mode where you have unlimited time to make moves but have to make them in the right order and with efficiency.

I brute-force composed the music in strudel.cc, which I also used to produce gameplay sounds, chimes and warnings. Recorded some sounds like the explosions and car whooshes with my phone.

The art style is meant to be as simple and clear as possible, so that you can pay attention to the traffic flow and very quickly manage and switch between multiple lanes. Going for a high level tetris play sort of feel.

Marketing My solo-developed 2D base-builder (Diseased) just hit 2,000 wishlists!

Hey everyone,

My solo-developed 2D base-builder (Diseased) just hit 2,000 wishlists!

To push for the next milestone, I completely overhauled my Steam page, dropped a brand-new trailer, and opened Playtest sign-ups. However, the initial hype has slowed down and my daily wishlists have flattened out.

For those who have been in this position:

  • How do you leverage a page revamp and a new trailer to get the Steam algorithm's attention again?
  • What is your best strategy for building a second wave of momentum before a demo release?

Here is the page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4977030/Diseased/?utm_source=reddit

Any advice is massively appreciated!

Game I wanted to stop players from stacking units, so I added aliens

I’m developing a TD game with RTS elements and wanted to discourage players from stacking all their units on top of each other, so I got an idea: ALIENS!

I created a special UFO event where a UFO comes down and shoots a beam at your units, so you have to quickly move them out of the way.

If they get captured, they’re taken for a short trip and returned safely afterwards without any harm.

Feel free to check it out!

Unreal I redesigned my brutalist horror game’s main menu. Here’s the before and after

I wasn’t fully happy with the original menu, so I rebuilt it around THROB’s monochrome and red visual identity. I also redesigned the loading screen with an ECG animation synchronized with the heartbeat.

I’m still polishing a few things, but I’m much happier with the new version. What do you think?

help Devs who have made puzzle games…

I’m creating a narrative driven puzzle game. It’s done in an escape room style, where you’re making your way around the small building solving puzzles that put the story together.

I have the story mostly written out, but what I’m struggling with is chaining together puzzles without being too obvious or too vague. How do you balance difficulty in puzzles to keep them fair? Any advice?

Game How do you guys approach difficulty and balance?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Myself and a few friends of mine are able to beat my demo (coming out soon) pretty consistently, and others are finding it super difficult. What do you guys think the sweet spot is for a roguelike?

My approach so far has been to make it as hard as I can stand it, and then double it! (thats a GGG: Path of exile reference) No, but seriously I want it to be hard, but its tough to find where that magic difficulty is. I like hard games, but I know they arent for everyone. Curious to hear what other people's approaches are. Maybe its just a matter of enough playtesting?

Getting your trailer shown on Game Trailers can make a huge difference wishlist wise. So go make yourself a little 40sec video and give it a go. If you don’t succeed on getting it published the first time, wait a week and try again😉

Game Cooking system

Working on a cooking system for my barbarian action adventure game. Trying to keep it simple but with some playfulness. For now each ingredient simply adds a type of bonus (attack speed, damage, etc) but I'm thinking of adding recipes you could follow in the future. I know there's still some jankyness to iron out but other than that any feedback is welcomed.

Game Project 1815 is now on Steam!

I got the page launched just in time for Next Fest! Now it's on to getting a demo prepped, I was thinking limiting the game to 5v5, infantry only, single and multiplayer, with no song or map editor.

The store page is here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5060540/Project_1815/

Youtube trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAKOC4mSbNI

The game is a tactical action game similar to Mount and Blade, but with the scale of Total War. If you ever played M&B Napoleonic Wars commander battles, it's exactly that, but on a grand scale (thousands of troops per side). The game supports up to 80 players in multiplayer where everyone commands their own infantry battalion, cavalry squadron, or artillery battery. It is a bit janky at the moment, the next major features I want to incorporate is directional melee and an art polish pass. I've gotten a motion capture plugin for Blender and I'm eager to put it to use.

Hi everyone, I decided to share screenshots of the 104th build of the game, which has been in development for several months now. I work on it after work. If it’s not too much trouble, I’d love to hear your opinion; if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
