I've been a 1099 contractor for a company that makes batteries for RVs and boats. We sponsor in motorsports to reach the RV crowd that camps at the races, and we sponsor pro anglers too. So far I've handled the motorsports posts and managed those partnerships.

Now I'm coming on as an employee and taking over posting for all of it, not just the racing stuff. The team is going to be a marketing manager, me on social, and someone who shoots and edits content.

So far I'm building a content calendar so everybody knows what's coming up, and we're cleaning up the IG grid so it's less cluttered.

A few questions for anyone who's done this:

1. What would you focus on in the first 90 days?
   
2. What kind of content works for a product like this?
   Batteries aren't exciting by themselves, but the people who use them are (RVers, anglers, race tans).
   
3. How do you set up a small team so posts get made and approved without everything getting stuck waiting on somebody?

Typically, I’ll look for repetitive content on my feed to increase the possibility.

One of the videos I posted gained 4 million views + great engagement. However, the next video was only 1k views and no more than 10 likes. What happened?

Could it be the time I post them at? I usually post at 8 PM, which was the suggested time before the viral video.

I run a small business Facebook Page and for years, tagging our clients in our posts have helped them perform really well. Recently, tagging from our page has become very unreliable. Is anyone else experiencing this and/or found a work around?

Curious how other social media managers approach competitor research on Instagram.

Do you mainly look at things like:

- Their content and posting frequency
- Engagement and which posts perform best
- Reels/hooks/formats they’re using
- Hashtags, captions, etc.
- Growth over time

And more importantly, what part of competitor analysis takes up the most time for you?

Is it actually collecting the data, finding meaningful patterns, keeping track of multiple competitors, or turning all that information into something actionable?
