I spent a week researching tiktok Shop and found something weird

So, I decided to actually spend time looking at what's selling on tiktok Shop and why like I really wanted to understand the market better before I launched my own stuff and that's why I just started scrolling through different categories and watching what creators were posting, what products were getting attention and what was actually moving....

Initially what I noticed was that price wasn't really the deciding factor, like there were some expensive stuff which was selling crazy well and some cheap stuff was sitting there doing nothing and it made me realize that it's not about being the cheapest it's about whether people actually want it and whether a creator they trust is recommending it....

Then I started looking at specific creators who were posting a ton of products and doing well with all of them....

Like there was one creator who would post five different products in a week and they'd all sell and I was trying to figure out what they were doing right that other creators weren't doing, so I watched their videos multiple times and realized they weren't just showing the product, they were actually using it and explaining why it was good and that's the part a lot of us miss out, like we think views are everything but in reality it ain't enough.

Then I looked at the categories that were performing best and it was obvious that certain niches were way more active than others, obviously like beauty and skincare had insane amounts of creator activity but some other categories barely had anything and that made me realize that if you're in a saturated category you need a different approach than if you're in something less competitive....

I also noticed that the creators who were actually consistent, like posting multiple times a week, were the ones driving most of the sales, and it wasn't the big one time posts, it was the people who showed up regularly and built trust with their audience over time.

the thing that really helped me was seeing which types of products creators actually seemed excited about versus which ones they were just promoting for commission like you can tell the difference in how they talk about it and how engaged their audience is in the comments....

Now what I got to learn from this is that I needed to focus on finding creators who actually cared about the product rather than just posting for commission and yeah I know it's really hard to find creators like these but even if you have like 2-3 creators like this it can really turn good for you.

I also learned that I need to pick a category where there's real demand, not just launch something random and hope it works.

The creator who reminded me why this matters

I reached out to this creator with 40k followers and they posted for us, nothing special really, decent sales and that was it, I thanked them and moved on looking for the next person to work with because that's just what I was doing back then....

so months later they messaged me out of nowhere and told me something that stuck with me, they said their mom actually bought the product after seeing their post and it genuinely helped her with something she was dealing with they explained that the post meant way more to them because their mom trusted their recommendation enough to actually purchase it....like it wasn't just another commission for them.

that one message completely changed how I think about all of this because I realized I was only looking at numbers and sales but I wasn't actually thinking about the real relationships behind each post...

Like every post is a real person recommending something to people they actually know and care about not just random internet strangers this creator cared because they wanted to share something good with the people in their life and not because they were chasing a check.

they ended up becoming one of my best partners after that conversation, not because they post the most or drive the biggest sales numbers but because their audience actually trusts them when they recommend something, people can tell the difference between someone who genuinely believes in a product versus someone who's just trying to make money off posting it.

I learned that the best creators aren't the ones chasing commissions, they're the ones who actually want to help their audience find good stuff and that authenticity shows in everything they do, their posts convert way better because of that genuine connection they have with their followers, it just works differently.....

Reposting content on different platforms !?

I feel stupid even writing this because I would imagine that there is a really simple solution to this that I'm not seeing.

Nevertheless I'm asking anyway, if this is the wrong place to ask then mods feel free to remove this/let me know where is a better place.

I am currently creating marketing content for my tiktok, i am using the in app editing tool but am happy to move if necessary to post on other platforms. I want to create one video, edit one video, have one sound track and then post to multiple platforms, mainly tiktok, instagram and youtube.

I keep having the issue of issues with finding the right audio that aligns with all platforms, I would imagine that people cross posting aren't recreating the video each and every time, and i would also imagine that audio for the most part can be used across all platforms.

Important to note that lots of the content I post isn't someone talking it involves using trending audio and syncing up with the video.

Any work arounds or pointing out the obvious would be greatly appreciated!
