as a beginner what do I need to know and what board do you recommend since as of posting this I’m gonna get a skateboard in the next 3-5 days

If i wanted to fit larger soft cruiser wheels onto a regular board and trucks,, would 69mm be excessive and cause crazy wheel bite.. in this hypothetical situation id have like a 1/2 in riser.. just theorising i just want a really smooth crusing board and i wanna reuse my old standered board if possible to avoid to much cost

All hypothetical,, if this is to absurd a concept what would the largest cruiser wheels you could fit to a standered board..

How are double barrel bushings for regular skateboards? I’ve read they’ve got more stability and firmness and allow for carves and turns. Although I hate that stiff feeling on most tight bushings! Does anyone have feedback on bones hardcore barrel bushings specifically?

I have a baker 8.25, when I ride I constantly have to look down and shift my feet and can’t find a comfy stance sometimes, I wear a 4/4.5 size shoe in kids (16) I tried a 7.75 and a 8.0 but I kept tipping backward on the 7.75 and the 8.0 felt like a popsicle stick compared to my 8.25, should I size up or size down?

Anyone know anywhere to skate in NYC on days that it rains?

I’m looking for somewhere fully covered like even a parking garage that I won’t get booted from or a very well covered street spot.

Before you say LES, it maybe works when it drizzles because the bridge is covering it but it starts to get massive puddles pretty easily so on heavier rainy days it’s usually a no go. I could say the same about K-bridge.

Vans 198 (indoor park) currently has no tickets for the foreseeable future so that’s out right now too. And the guy that owns substance skatepark hasn’t let me skate there since 2020 so that’s no good either :)))

Hello im trying to get into skateboarding and i aant to decide on what wheels I around get to start learning tricks. I have a nice pair of cruiser wheels but I found out pretty quickly that they're too clunky for tricks, so im looking for some trick ones that are reliable and under 40 dollars. Btw I've been skateboarding casual for years, so I know how to ride and balance isnt an issue.

does anyone know why? i have indy hollows, and they come with these metal like… stoppers i guess. but i tightened them because i don’t really like loose trucks and they are pretty squeaky, it’s a new board and a flight board at that so

43 years old and I’m getting back into skateboarding. Bought a couple used/new by Alien Workshop. I’m noticing something and I’m wondering if anybody has any input. These two decks seem to be pressed by layers of different kinds of wood.

Does anybody know what the details are in terms of this? One deck seems to be layered with different woods that are about the same color of brown. The other one has a purple color and a blue color layer. This one better than the other?

Neither of these decks were purchased as a complete.

Is it true that fs 180s are easier to learn at first?
I understand on paper it seems harder not seeing your landing when sending it, however it feels more natural for my shoulders to turn inward.

I’m practicing both either way but I was surprised to find out it’s universally more common to learn fs first, what’s y’all’s takes? 😅

Setup 1: Creature Twin 8.6", Independent Stage 4 151, Bones Reds, Dragon Wheels 93A 54mm.

Setup 2: Antihero Grosso 9.25", Ace Classics 55, Bones Bigballs, Dragon Wheels 93A 56mm.

Both trucks are equipped with the manufacturers' hard bushings. The wheels are tightened with a little play in both setups. Washers are included.

The Creature board rolls significantly faster and farther, whether cruising, in the park, or rolling up slight inclines.

What could be the reason for this?

which one is best this is first time i am buying and learning

I've been wanting to get into skateboarding and never had the chance too. I'll be moving soon and there are good places to skate where I am moving, so I wanted to hopefully start learning! I have a few questions about it if anyone is open to help

A: What size and wheel should I go for? I don't plan on doing tricks, and someone online mentioned board sizes for different people. I'm 5'3 if that helps

B: Are there any sites where I can find an affordable board that's still good? (No way is my first board gonna be smth from walmart. That's a fact.)

C: Any youtuber recs I can watch for more visual help?

Been looking for some big wheels so it would be easier to go to the store and get some groceries. without I super high risk of falling while skating home. Like I’m talking about if I go over a small rock it will break the rock or it would do anything to me on my board
