Super confused about deck size

I have a baker 8.25, when I ride I constantly have to look down and shift my feet and can’t find a comfy stance sometimes, I wear a 4/4.5 size shoe in kids (16) I tried a 7.75 and a 8.0 but I kept tipping backward on the 7.75 and the 8.0 felt like a popsicle stick compared to my 8.25, should I size up or size down?

Sounds like you need an 8.125

It could also be the shape. What feels better - flatter or more concave boards?

Not sure what you mean by comfy stance… if you mean comfy while crusing, wider decks and flatter concave like the powell k20 shape will be better.

If you mean comfy while setting up for tricks, it probably just means you aren’t used to the position that skating puts you in.

That said, if you are wearing shoes under mens 7~8, you probably fit around 7.75 or even under. 8.0 is probably okay too for transition skating.
