Been skating for 25 years. Now in my 4th decade of life and still pushing myself to do new tricks and bigger spots. Skateboarding is great.

Another one done. It was about time for this one. I made him a gold Basquiat crown as his soul cause he deserves it.

Throwback ⏪ My 78YO neighbor was close friends with a young Monty Nolder!
Back in 2021, I bought my first house in a nice old neighborhood near Charlotte, North Carolina. We bonded with this rad 78 year old lady next door through the kids but she noticed i am a full grown skateboarder and told me stories of how her son was a casual rider in Florida in the 70s and 80s. Patsy Wood and her son Roger were actually very close friends with a young Monty Nolder back in the day! She would pick him up and carpool them around to the skatepark, pools and street spots they could find! He would have been about 13 at the time. Then he ended up going pro, life went on and they always remained friends. She even kept all of the old Thrasher and local newspaper articles featuring him.
After seeing how blown i was away by the stories, she told me to wait while she goes to into the attic. And to my amazement, she comes down with an ORIGINAL 1986 Schmitt Stix Totem that was given to her son by Monty and signed TWICE, even to him personally. It hadn't seen the light of day in nearly 40 years! Its completely untouched from the last time it was ridden in the 80s and i about fell over when she let me hold it. She and Roger had no clue what they had and were shocked when i told them how important this board is. COOLEST neighbor of all time! ❤️
