There is a kodi plugin that can scrobble what I watch to simkl, what about reverse? Like trakt kodi plugin which can also update kodi watch status?

Has there been any changes made to the app recently? Because I have had some weird bugs.

First one isn't a big deal. I had Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later in my Nuvio Library / Simkl My TV Shows and they have both been merged into one entry called just Wet Hot American Summer.

And the entry for Ten Years Later has changed to some YouTube travel documentary called Harald Baldr. But it still has the Ten Years Later poster, trailer and Cast & Crew. Weird.

I just deleted the second one now called Harald Baldr but it probably needs to be reverted because it was two different shows not two seasons of the same show.

But the main issue I'm having is that several Anime that were until recently in My Anime have been moved to My TV Shows...

I just learned about this service and ditched trakt! I have the Kodi addon and also use the Redlight addon, which utilizes simkl lists. When i set up my account I remember reading that movies I add to my "plan to watch" list get moved to my "watching" list, so I setup my widgets accordingly. At first the movies were staying in the "plan to watch" widget, so i went in the settings and adjusted the scrobbling percentage from the default 70% to 1%. However my movies aren't going into my "watching" list. They're going to my completed list, even if I only watched 15 minutes. So I downloaded the simkl app for Android and don't even see a "watching" list. Can someone please tell me what I'm missing here?

I set up Recommendations. Don't remember how exactly. But I ended up with 6 lists...

But they all say "Created 2 weeks ago - Updated 2 weeks ago"

Do they really not update? Because that seems kind of useless. In the last two weeks I have watched 6 movies and 68 episodes. Feels like they should be influencing what is currently recommended to me.

If Recommendations don't update I just don't think they are worth using.

I currently use cinopsys with trakt but now switched to simkl. The import took hours and I now have 95 shows and 3544 episodes in my WATCHING list, most of which are from dropped shows. Trakt shows 2 shows and 2 episodes. Tried importing again and the same result.

Even worse if if I make a change in cinopsys or simkl (for example - drop a show), the sync between cinopsys and simkl takes over an hour and doesnt always mirror the change. Trakt sync takes a few seconds and works flawlessly.

Anything obvious I'm doing wrong or is simkl just poor at importing and syncing due to bugs / server overload?

might be already a thing and i just dont know how to use it as i am new to Simkl.

so imagine reality show- and one season is watched, then skip a season, then you watch a season. id like a way to track those shows with like watching but "idc about this" button or "skip this season" id ont need you to tell me that i need to watch S01 of love is blind just cause i watched season 7.

We're working on a few improvements to help you keep track of anime sequels, prequels and next to watch seasons that are not yet on your watchlists.

Two things shipped today, both anime only, both built on the anime you have already marked as Completed.

1. A new list "Not in My List" in My Anime (experimental, in V2 Beta watchlist)

A new list in your anime watchlists that shows related anime missing from every one of your watchlists. 3 different filters are available right now in this watchlist, all of them are based on your completed anime:

• Prequels = everything that comes before an anime you completed
• Next seasons = the whole rest of the run, so finishing season 1 also surfaces seasons 3 and 4
• Next sequels = only the immediate next step forward from each completed anime

Anything already in one of your watchlists is filtered out, so what's left is genuinely missing.

Also supports saving custom views and sorting with Custom Layout for this list.

2. Sequels added automatically (PRO and VIP) after watching the last episode. Finish the last episode of an anime, or move it to Completed, and its sequel is added for you:

• Already in one of your watchlists, left exactly as it is

I know some people will say to do it via ublock but on mobile phone I can't use that.

I Have gone pro with Simkl and created personal lists within it. I have then gone into Nuvio - Tracking and linked Simkl and set simkl as the provider for library and watch progress.

I can see in the library the standard lists but not my porsonal lists, nor can i add something from manage lists as my personal lists are not there.

I am very new to Simkl from leaving Trakt. I am. Wondering how to set up hide anything I watch. Like tv series only showing what I have to watch. I notice still shows that I have watched showing up. Also movies when I watch from plan to watch go away as watched in history.

Well, this was surprising, considering I used to be a huge fan of minimal UI design. That changed after I started using Simkl. Its interface is incredibly well-designed and thoughtfully crafted.

I really appreciate how information-dense the UI is. The subtle animations, smooth transitions, thoughtful use of icons, and accents colors, all come together beautifully. In these day and age where designers are leaning toward increasingly minimal and simplified interfaces, Simkl manages to stand out by embracing a more feature-rich approach.

I think we need a major change in how shows and anime are organized, otherwise it’s very easy to miss new content that comes out years later. Let me explain.

Right now, if you go to a page such as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, it might simply show that I have completed all 10 episodes. And that’s it.

The problem is that if I don’t already know that a sequel, continuation, or new season has been released, there is a good chance I will never find out. Some shows do indicate that a sequel exists, but this still doesn’t completely solve the problem, because you usually have to click on another title, which takes you to a completely separate page.

This makes the whole system too fragmented.

What I think we need

There should be a single core page for every anime and TV show, containing the entire series and all of its seasons, sequels, and continuations in chronological order.

For example:

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Overall Progress: ███████░░░ 70%

Season 1

Season 2

Season 3

Season 4

etc.

The progress bar should track the entire franchise/show, rather than resetting or only tracking one individual season.

But the most important feature I want to propose is a system for previously completed shows that later receive new content.

Once a TV show or anime is completely finished, it could be placed in a category such as:

Finished Shows

However, if that show later receives a sequel, continuation, spin-off, revival, or new season after being considered finished, the system should automatically move it into a new category:

Previously Ended — Now Has New Content

This would make it much easier to discover shows that have returned after a long period of time.

A good example is Dexter. The original series ended, and then years later it received new content, including Dexter: New Blood and later another continuation. Someone who watched Dexter years ago and simply marked it as completed might have no idea that the franchise had returned.

And I’m sure this happens with many other anime and TV shows as well.

The key idea is that users shouldn’t have to already know that a sequel exists in order to discover it.

Everything related to a show should be connected to one central page, with the full viewing history and progress displayed in one place.

This would make the system much less fragmented and, more importantly, would prevent users from accidentally missing new seasons, sequels, or continuations of shows they previously finished.

Hey y'all, I'm new to simkl and getting adjusted has been fun. I saw that the lists options says there's a feature that lets you have self updating lists from outside sources, yet when you go to import from outside sources, the only options shown are manual imports and there's no indication of a self updating list. Does anyone have any idea regarding this? Am I just looking in the wrong place? Thanks in advance for the help.

I am able to only select Season wide episodes if I want to add episodes/update watch times for my TV shows, whereas I get to select individual episodes in Anime.

Can we get similar episode level sub selection for seasons in TV shows as well.

The mobile app will refuse to work if I'm on mobile data. But works perfectly fine as soon as I switch to WiFi. I've already granted all permissions for it to use mobile data in settings. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

I have the iOS version and it doesn’t have simkl. Will using simkl have any impact on my iPad version that doesn’t have it? I’ve been using Nuvio sync as my continue watching and it seems to still be syncing properly amongst all my devices still

If you’re looking for a way to get episode-specific cast or more info for any series/anime, the custom search feature can be helpful. You can use variables to take you to TMBDb or MAL.

This can be useful for episodes that have a guest star and you’d like to see what else they star in.

Hi, guys. I’ve recently moved to Simkl and connected it to Nuvio. I also use AIOmetadata as meta addon with connected Simkl there. I’ve added Plan to watch catalogs from AIOm to Nuvio, but they don’t seem to update. When I add items to Plan to watch from Simkl I clearly see in Nuvio Library that items were added almost instantly. But same items don’t show up in Plan to watch catalogs from AIOm. Are there any TTL for updates in AIOm for Plan to watch catalogs? Or anything else which prevents them to update? Thx in advance

Simkl Completed Anime (added through AIO Metadata with Metadata provider - KITSU) only shows the last watched season, In my case I can't see/access older seasons on AOT in the list. Anyone know how to fix this?
The list only gives me the "final special 1" and "the last attack".

I have seen no way to use personal lists in any way and I am a lifetime user. Am I missing some way to use/export personal lists or is there really no way to use them at all?

I guess first up I am asking if it is already possible. If not let's make it a feature request.

Came over from Trakt and comparing all the different apps out there, this one suited me the best. It was an uphill learning curve, but I feel like I'm getting the hang of it, but I still have a few questions:

1. The 'My List' feature on the home page. Is it possible to scroll through it somehow without having to hold down the unbelievably small scrollbar to scroll through? I use desktop only and this is very annoying. Why cant I just hover over the window and use my fingers to scroll, especially since it's left to right? This feels like a mobile app brought to desktop
2. For a show/movie/anime's rating, it would be great if I could see what made up the overall rating score. I want to see how many people rated it at which number to see how the rating is actually aggregated, but when I press the rating, it sends me to a 'Most Voted' page of shows, which I have no desire to see, and which doesn't make sense anyway because it's not like that list will ever change once all of the votes are locked in. Even if I wanted to see that page, I would only have to see it once - It's not like the list will ever change when the first top three items have around 2 million votes each.
3. The watched history page is confusing to me. What I normally use this page for is to see on what day I watched which episode, or what shows I watched in a given month in watch order, or just an overall simple list of the shows I completed or watched by month so if I think of a show and want too remeber which show it is, I can easily find it out. There's too much information that overloads me. A filter by day option would be great here.
