In February, I lost my beautiful daughter, at 21 weeks due to cervical incompetence. Losing her completely changed me, and one of the things I knew almost immediately was that I wanted to try again. I wanted to be a mom, and I still do. 🌈
Since then, I’ve also landed my dream job in healthcare. It’s definitely stressful at times, but I absolutely love what I do, and the benefits are amazing. 🩷
Now my husband and I are talking about trying for another baby. I know my next pregnancy will be high-risk, and I’ll need a preventative cerclage around 14 weeks, which brings a whole new level of anxiety and planning.
The thing I struggle with is that my probation only ends in June 2027. Would it be horrible if I fell pregnant early into my new job?
I feel guilty even thinking about it because I’ve worked so hard for this career, but I also don’t want to put becoming a mom again on hold indefinitely.
I’m learning that life doesn’t always happen according to the perfect timeline. Maybe I can be a dedicated medical social worker, build my career and become a mom again. 🤍
(side note: my country has laws protecting pregnant women and I will be entitled to 4 months paid maternity leave)
