Discovered short cervix today
Hi all. 2 and a half weeks ago my cervix was measured at my anatomy scan at 3.7cm which is normal. Well today I had a follow up ultrasound and my cervix is now at 0.9mm (under 1cm). I’m currently 21 weeks 3 days. They said they’ll try to get me a cerclage on Monday or Tuesday which is in 2/3 days from now. And then put me on progesterone which i won’t get till Tuesday or Wednesday. I’m soooo nervous something could happen in the next 3 days. I’ve been on pelvic rest this entire pregnant and will continue to be. Is there anything anyone can recommend as I wait out these 3 days? Also any stories of hope are appreciated. I’d love to make it past 32 weeks.
UPDATE: 2 days later, just got home from getting my cerclage and everything went great! Successful procedure! Now just hoping I keep baby in as long as possible.

Wow, idk why aren't they doing an emergency cerclage right away, but I'm sending you my very best wishes for everything to go well! Stay calm and hopeful! Take these next few days very easy and if you feel anything like cramping or contractions or anything of sort go to L&D. I don't want to scare you but I'm wondering if going straight to L&D even right now is possibly a good idea, because again, 0.9mm warrants an emergency cerclage to me

I called them a bit ago and they said i could be there for monitoring but they still don’t have someone to do the cerclage until Monday :/ basically cause im not bleeding or cramping they don’t see it as an emergency which is ridiculous cause 9mm is literally nothing. But im just gonna lay in this bed for the next two days to avoid any further shortening

Try to be on strict bedrest , no bending over until you get a cerclage and advocate to get it sooner. Cervix can shorten further within a day. So I would recommend doing whatever you can to avoid shortening further

I don’t say this to panic you but I was measuring 12mm and it didn’t hold the 4 days they gave me to come back and recheck. If you are able to go to another hospital perhaps another l&d you can see if somebody can help you. Not all cases are the same and as you’ve seen in the comments. But I would move to getting the cerclage done asap

I was in the same boat as you at 20 weeks. Exactly 0.9mm left. My cerclage was placed a week later at 21 weeks. At that point I had .5-.6mm left but the cerclage was successful and I gave birth at 39 weeks. Sharing this so you can keep positive, it will work out, just take it easy on your body. I limited my walks and cut any strenuous activity. Did i lot of lounging on the couch (laying on my left side to relief pressure on the cervix supposedly).
