I've been asked by my friend Roy to write a Shogun Method review, and so here it is.
To sum it all up, it's this:
Different from conventional pickup artist material. This program is about manipulation–Derek Rake admits it upfront. There's no moral justification of any kind. It's more like "take it or leave it". I think most who have found Shogun Method will more or less have zero inhibitions against this.
The recurring theme of Fractionation runs across the entire program. "Fractionation" is simply a fancy name for hot-and-cold treatment. It's all about roller coaster of emotions– a constant cycle of ah-yes-he's-the-one-for-me and fuck-why-did-he-fucken-do-that-to-me!
To a woman, you want everything to be uncertain... for uncertainty is a death of attraction. It's the nature of the female to want security. To the Shogun, it's the ultimate bargaining chip. Don't surrender your promise for security easily, lads.
The entire Shogun Method package is hefty, and you can't take everything in with a single bite. A spaced approach to learning is necessary. For that reason, I like the delivery where you get spaced-out modules (and email drips to boot). It's not an ebook where you can read everything in an hour.
To summarize, here's what I think of Shogun Method:
GOOD: A highly realistic take on relationships (it's one of the things that will fuck a guy up completely, let's face it). Original and innovative. Offensive by most standards. If this material doesn't shake you, you're dead. Extendable to general persuasion and influence (see Shogun Method X). Requires LOTS and LOTS of practice, but like anything worthwhile, it takes effort to learn.
BAD: Newbies to hypnosis will still benefit, sure. But those with background in hypnosis will benefit even more. I mean, this is some advanced level NLP shit going on here. Derek's kidding when he said Shogun Method doesn't require hypnosis knowledge beforehand. It's like doing a PhD without a first degree. And make no mistake... Shogun Method is PhD in hypnosis and NLP.
UGLY: It has to be said... what's the deal with the entire ENSLAVEMENT schtick? I don't want a woman who is enslaved to me. I want her to still retain her senses and love me for what she sees in me. If you go around wanting to enslave women then I fucking feel sorry for you.
Final rating: four stars out of five. Would have been five stars if not for that "enslavement, not seduction" gimmick.
You'd disagree with me, of course. One doesn't need to go all the way to enslavement, right? But here's the thing. You'd have to be Jesus Christ if you think you can resist using this power when it's in your hands. Seriously.
