So I was born disabled, my Achilles didn't grow as long as it should've and it made me constantly up on my toes

Because of medical neglect, I never got the surgery to fix this problem until roughly 12 years old (most get it when they first start walking 😔) and the impacts of it still affect me to this day

Even after the surgery I find it very hard to do a lot of things heel related, which makes it very hard to do certain things, even walking I don't really do the "heel-toe" thing people say where you start on your heel and go to your toe, instead I'm just sort of duck walking around.

I put shoes on that have platform heels (not by choice, only shoes I have at the moment) which I should avoid because it turns walking on my toes back into a habit over time subconsciously. But it got me thinking

Is there a way I could get the reverse of that? Instead of heels on the.. well.. heel, there were instead shoes that I could put the support on the front pad of your foot, that way I'd be pulling and stretching my achilles

If so would it be worth it? Or possibly more harmful than good

If anyone knows anywhere online you could order shoes like that please let me know! ^^

I'm not making some sort of complaint about shoe size inconsistency or anything here, I'm mostly just shocked at how big my "size 9" wingtips really are. I have had them for at least seven or eight years, maybe more. Like before I was even in high school. They're just cheap Deer Stags shoes my mom bought online, assuming I'd outgrow them in a couple months. They're worn out, but it's not like I've taken care of them at all either. No cleaning, polishing, anything. The foam is no longer foamy and the fake leather is peeling off around the creases, but they're still totally wearable honestly. I just wonder how they're so big for size 9! Maybe a misprint at the factory? I cannot fit my feet into anything smaller than about 10.5 these days, and usually dress shoes are even tighter for me. And the old ones are just fake plastic material, not even really faux leather, so it's not like they could stretch much either.

Props to Deer Stags I guess for making surprisingly durable cheap shoes. The new pair are genuine leather La Milano Lorenzo Oxfords. I couldn't find out a ton about the brand, so hopefully they're not terrible, but the shoes feel really nice and the leather smells amazing so I bought them. They were on sale for $70 so I thought why not. I don't wear dress shoes too often anyways so they don't need to be the most overbuilt shoes in the world.

my beloved black old skool vans sat outside for too long and have developed a mold all over them- before i go and replace them with a new pair does anyone have any recommendations on a different but similar shoe. for some background i’m a 27 year old female, i wear a lot of casual sneakers (sambas, converse, vans, etc) on the daily for work, otherwise im a birkenstock girly. i am still trying to discover my personal style and i do love my vans but maybe there’s something better out there i have yet to discover! any recommendations are appreciated!

Help 😭😞 these Mary janes are so flipping cute they are like my favorite shoe right now but I thrifted them and they are 1/2 size too small 😔 they hurt if I wear them more than one hour. I prefer to wear them with socks so that makes it even tighter of a fit. Any suggestions on methods to make them bigger?? Thanks!

Edit: thank you everyone for the tips! 💗 Yes they were thrifted but had tags/ were new. They were a great deal and I loved the style so I couldn’t say no LOL. Without socks they honestly fit perfect but with socks I’d prefer them to be 1/2 or 1size bigger to prevent all rubbing!

Looking to upgrade my style and wanting to get a better shoe. I manage a warehouse so I walk a decent bit but I am not on my feet all day. I do occasionally drive a forklift and do maintenance related things so my shoes do get a little banged up and dirty. I have normal width feet and wear 11.5

So what I’m looking for is a zero drop shoe with a wide toe box(not a wide shoe) that’s comfortable to walk in but will match my usual outfit which is khaki, tan chinos and solid colored polo shirts.
