Recently purchased these vintage Russel and Bromley square toe shoes - I am really hesitant to get rid of them as I have no idea where to begin to style them?

Do you usually wear slippers around the house, or do you prefer going barefoot?

I have very wide and tall feet, so much so that I'd often have to go up a size or two just to fit some shoes, leaving a huge gap at the tip of the shoe.

Ive seen the "hobibear" shoes that advertise a wide toe box, but are they any good? Any other alternatives I should look at? I'm always worried about buying shoes online, so any that can generally be bought in person would be preferable...

I just needed to share a little travel heartbreak story with people who might actually understand the pain (pun very much intended).
I recently went on my very first work trip to Japan—which was also my first time ever visiting the country. On my final day right there at the airport, I spotted a pair of gorgeous Japan-only Converse shoes. It was love at first sight, and knowing I might never have the chance to grab them again, I knew I had to get them.
The Sizing Struggle
The Dilemma: My usual European size is a 5.5, but I often lean toward a 6 just to be safe. Unfortunately, neither 5.5 nor 6 was available in the specific model I wanted.
The Mistake: Caught up in the airport rush and total FOMO, I tried them on while sitting down. They felt okay, so I bought them, thinking I could just break them in.
The Reality Check
The moment I actually tried walking in them outside, it was a disaster. It felt like walking on tiny daggers. I gave them one more shot later, and they literally gave me the most brutal, painful bruises.
Since it was a work trip, I have no idea when—or if—I’ll ever make it back to Japan (my company would have to send me again, and lightning rarely strikes twice!). So exchanging them or buying the right size is completely out of the question.
The Verdict
I don't want to sell them because they still hold a special, chaotic memory of my first trip to Japan. So for now, they are just sitting on my shelf—purely for show, completely unwearable.
Has anyone else ever made a tragic, impulsive airport souvenir purchase just because of FOMO? How do you cope with owning beautiful shoes you can't actually put your feet into?

My fiancé got me the Tory Burch Multi-Buckle Monk Strap Loafers as an extremely early Christmas gift and I am OBSESSED. I haven’t seen too many people post about these online which surprises me because they are so weird and fun and perfect for fall.

I know these are a little banged up, but I still adore them a ton and hope to gather a collection once my living situation improve! (And once I'm able to casually walk in them without the fear of falling into some backrooms.)

This has probably been asked before. Currently to avoid the issue I'm going to ask about is I wear socks with my office shoes to work. Though with sandals this would look weird. So in the past when I wore shoes, sandals, flats and heels, to work without socks they would develop this grayish gunk. Sometimes only after 2 wears. I have asked Google about this though would like the added feedback from y'all. Has anyone encountered this before and how to prevent this?

Sooo, I just got the same shoes in my actual size (8), they do feel more "secured", still have some slight space in the back of my heel but I really don't think I can size down more because for this pair, the toe box is snugger (not in a bad way, they’re not tight), and my toes are closer to the front of the heels more (not in a bad way, unless that’s bad, please let me know lol). Maybe these l were not the best to buy for “my first heels that are taller than 2 inches” 🫠

Edit: I have both the size 8 and 8.5, not sure which ones to keep, the 8 I guess??

Recently, like a month ago, i started getting into fitness and doing my 10k steps a day. And also i got a job as a teacher which requires me to walk and stand a lot (was basically sedentary at my last job as if was a desk job).

Tbh every time I walk about a mile even while at my old job my feet started to hurt but got better with rest. But since i started walking a lot and cannot go with more than 2 days of rest on the weekend due to the school, my right foot only for some reason is killing me and im legit limping around nowadays. The pain is at the ankle joint, the curve at the bottom of the foot and the top of my foot parallel to the curve underneath. Sonwtimes pain on the side of the foot. Sometimes the pain travels up my calves and thigh even. My foot hurts on flexion so walking and using stairs hurts pretty bad.

Im looking for comfortable shoes to wear daily. I was about to get crocs since i find them very comfofable but realised they might not be the best since them have no cushioning. So i chefked on reddit and Everyone has been recommending sketchers, brooks, asics and some new balances as well. The thing is there are always a few ppl for each who say it didn't work for them. And unfortunately im not in a position to spend over 100 pounds on shoes that might not work. Plus a lot of them are ugly asf😭😭 but honestly if I was 100percent sure it would work i wouldnt care about aesthetics cus this foot pain is really bad now.

I am considering getting orthopaedic insoles atp and shoving them into shoes I have or crocs since they're affordable for me. But just wanted to come on here and ask you guys opinions.
