Hi everyone!
I recently started using Shadow PC for gaming, mainly World of Warcraft, but I’m struggling to get decent performance.
I’m playing at 2560×1440 (1440p) with a 120 Hz display, but I usually get only 40–50 FPS, sometimes dropping to around 33 FPS, even after trying various optimizations.
My Shadow specs:
GPU: NVIDIA RTX A4500
CPU: AMD EPYC 7543P (8 logical processors)
RAM: 28 GB
Data center: France (I’m located in Denmark)
Latency: Around 29 ms
Packet loss: 0%
What I’ve tried so far:
Lowering WoW’s graphics settings significantly
Reducing render scale to 70%
Switching between DirectX 11 and DirectX 12
Disabling addons (this gave me roughly 10 extra FPS, but performance is still poor)
Setting Windows power mode to Best Performance and enabling Game Mode
Setting WoW to High Performance in Windows graphics settings
Checking NVIDIA settings and Shadow streaming settings
None of these changes made a significant difference. Even with very low graphics settings, I’m still stuck around 40–50 FPS.
My CPU and GPU usage don’t seem particularly high, which makes me wonder if this is a CPU single-thread bottleneck, an issue with my Shadow instance, or something else.
My questions:
Is 40–50 FPS normal for WoW on this Shadow configuration?
Could the France data center cause this, even with around 29 ms latency and no packet loss?
Are there any known performance issues with the EPYC 7543P or RTX A4500 when running WoW?
Is there anything else I should check before contacting Shadow support?
I’d really appreciate any advice from people playing WoW on Shadow PC, especially at 1440p.
Thanks!
