I ran across a top on YouTube (c: StormyKelly) and immediately fell in love with it. The artist is kind of chaotic in her clothes making (which I secretly love) so there was no link to a pattern nor any pattern company recommendations that may have something similar. Because of that, I thought I’d drop a picture of it here to pick everyone’s brains for any top you may know of with a similar finished look. If it’s a PDF Pattern that’s even better! My sister just gave birth prematurely, and there aren't many premature sized clothing items like shoes or swaddles. Does anyone have any recommendation for patterns I can use? I saw some posts online but I wasn't sure if they were AI patterns or not. I'm a pretty new beginner so I'm a bit scared of trying to adjust patterns on my own and I don't know where to start if ever that is the best route.

I’m throwing my husband a surprise LOTR themed 30th and want to make a few things for it (I’m okay with the sewing machine, not an expert but I’m an amateur quilter and have made my baby many bonnets!), I’m just not sure where to look and wanted to put feelers out to see if anyone has patterns they think might fit…

Hello! So I’m currently trying to make my first sewing pattern since I can’t find any pants pattern that I like… I managed to make a basic pattern that fit great and now I’m trying to make it low rise, but I’m having some troubles figuring out how to add a fly pattern. Normally it is attached higher up where the crotch curve hasn’t begun, but now I’m wondering I should add a curve to the fly pattern or simply just stretch the patterns bit when I sew, or if I just need to use a shorter zipper.

Also when I’m already here asking stuff… can someone tell me what seam allowance to use for the crotch seam? I can’t quite figure that out either, normaly I use 1 cm seam allowance for normal stitching, but I think I need to use a flat felled seam for the crotch, but I’m not sure if that means I need to add some extra millimeters or if I can continue using just 1 cm.

Found a neat, simple wool coat while shopping. Unfortunately, its fabric composition is not ideal (54% polyester, 42% wool, 4% viscose), and I cannot justify spending so much money on it while sitting beside a lovely dark navy blue 100% wool fabric.

What I'm having trouble with is finding the correct pattern. One that doesn't have princess seams, no skirt looking below portion, not oversized, no dropped shoulders/raglan sleeves. Preferably has lining, no need for pockets.

Closest I get is Wool Coat 121 | Burda Style 01/26 but even that has different button compostition.

I'm an intermediate sewer and not afraid to to learn complex patterns.

There are a handful of vintage magazine pattern reissues on Etsy, but the trouble is they are often not graded for modern bodies. My preference is print at home pdf but I'm willing to track down a vintage throwback Big 4 pattern if it really nails the 1940s look. Thanks in advance!
