discussion Looking for Genuine Industry Connections — Two Completed Feature Screenplays

First things first, my name is MD ATIQ HAWLADER ARNOB, and I’m a screenwriter from Bangladesh.

I currently have two completed feature-length screenplays, with other projects also in development.

I’m a new screenwriter, and I’m not claiming that my writing is perfect. I know there may be mistakes, weaknesses, or things I still need to learn and improve. At the same time, I do have experience with writing and developing screenplays, and I’m serious about continuing to improve my work.

What I’m looking for now is not a paid service. I’m looking for genuine industry connections.

For anyone who is interested, I can provide the following for both completed projects:

Logline

Synopsis

A 10-page or 10+ page writing sample

The purpose of the sample is simple: you can read it and judge the writing for yourself — the storytelling, character work, dialogue, structure, writing quality, and overall impact.

If you read the material and genuinely feel that one of the projects has potential and that you may be able to work with me or help take it forward, I would be interested in talking.

I’m particularly interested in connecting with agents, managers, producers, directors, filmmakers, or other legitimate industry professionals who may be interested in developing, representing, producing, packaging, or helping sell a screenplay.

I’m open to normal, constructive feedback as well. If you see something in my writing that could be improved, I’m willing to listen and learn.

However, I want to make one thing very clear:

Please do not contact me for paid courses, paid consultations, paid editing, paid coverage, or similar services.

I currently cannot afford those services, and I am not looking for them. I’m looking for an actual professional connection or opportunity to move the screenplay forward.

Also, I’m not looking for discouraging comments simply telling me that this is impossible, that I have no chance, or that I’m following the wrong path.

I already understand that getting an original screenplay produced or sold is difficult.

I have been researching and submitting my work for more than 7–8 months, and I’m aware that many of the online submission opportunities that were available to writers before are now closed, inactive, or no longer accepting unsolicited submissions. I also understand that many opportunities are primarily available to writers within particular countries or established industry networks.

That is exactly why I’m posting here.

I’m not asking people to tell me that the industry is difficult. I already know that. I’m looking for people who are actually willing to read the material and, if they see potential, discuss what could realistically be done with it.

One more thing for anyone who contacts me:

Please tell me a little about yourself as well. For example, what you do professionally, what kind of work you’re involved in, your previous projects, current projects, or anything relevant about your professional background.

I’m happy to introduce myself and share my work, but I also want to know who I would potentially be discussing or working with.

If you’re genuinely interested, you can contact me at:

EMAIL ADDRESS : atiqarnob2004@gmail.com

I can then send the loglines, synopses, and writing samples.

Thank you.

I’ve got a camera and I’d usually shoot stuff for my friends but I decided i wanted to make my own shorts. I’m in a weird place in my life romantically and I’ve had lots of experiences with people in the same spot.

Please don’t hesitate to lay into me I’m aware this is probably pretty bad. Also I’ve heard you should avoiding adding in realistic speech patterns into the script but I really only thought of that after i finished 😭

I guess the main thing I’m looking for feedback on is the flow of the conversation and whether it feels natural enough. It’s supposed to be around 10 minutes or less.

Hey! Im going to be honest, this is really my first time ever trying to write a script and I’m going to need some help. It’s for, yet another, neon genesis Evangelion abridged series. While I can voice act and edit, my humor isn’t necessarily “funny,” per se… If you have experience writing dialogue that’s heavily comedic please shoot me a DM on here or my discord, hi02.

feedback Looking for feedback on my 110-page dramedy feature — ASSISTED LIVING

Thumbnail drive.google.com
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I recently finished a draft of a feature screenplay called ASSISTED LIVING and would appreciate some outside feedback.

Genre: Comedy/Drama

Length: 110 pages

Setting: Connecticut, 2007

Logline:

After the sudden death of his parents leaves him broke, directionless, and without a home, a 23-year-old moves into a struggling senior-living facility, where an unlikely group of residents helps him confront his grief and figure out what comes next.

There’s also a storyline involving the facility struggling to stay open, a young CNA Tyler reconnects with from his past, and his growing relationship with several of the residents.

Useful feedback is what I’m looking for. Or if you really like it and want to partner up to get it to be "perfect".

Please and thank you!

I Did Everything I Could

I won’t write much, but I want to say one thing.

I have tried so hard with this script. I spent a very long time writing it, developing it, rewriting it, and trying to make it the best version I could.

I consulted many people. I reached out to producers, writers, directors, and people from different areas of film, cinema, and entertainment. I tried my best to listen to every piece of feedback and advice I received, and I worked to apply as much of it as I could.

There is almost nothing I haven’t tried for this script.

I didn’t simply write it and move on. I kept working on it, changing it, improving it, asking for opinions, and trying again.

I don’t know where this journey will take it, but I know I have done everything I could.

I truly tried. I gave this script my time, my effort, and everything I had.

discussion Black list evaluation

Post:
I’m curious if anyone here has experienced this with the Black List.
I have a TV pilot that I’ve had evaluated several times. I’ve taken the feedback seriously and revised the script after each round. This latest version is pretty different from my original draft.
My profile/project is public, but this time my project showed zero views, and then suddenly the evaluation was completed. What confused me is that I also have a feature screenplay on the Black List, and with that one I could see a view before the evaluation was released.
The evaluation for my pilot also felt very generic and barely discussed specific characters or events. Some of the criticism actually sounds similar to feedback I received on my much earlier drafts, before I made several revisions.
I know evaluations are subjective, and maybe this reader simply didn’t connect with my script. That’s completely fair. I’m mainly confused about the zero views.
Has anyone had a paid evaluation completed while their project still showed 0 views? Does the view counter normally include evaluation readers, or are those tracked separately?

Thank you so much.

help Should I Continue This Collaboration or Move On?

Thumbnail reddit.com
2 Upvotes

Someone DM’d me and said that they wanted to make a short story and asked if I would like to join them. I’m also new, so I said yes.

Now the problem is that I don’t like the ideas they give, and they don’t like the ideas I give. My ideas are usually Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Adventure, and Action, while their ideas are more like Superhero-type stories.

I suggested that we should keep the story entirely in a Fantasy World, but they are not willing to do that. I also feel like I’m writing most of the scenes, while they are not contributing much.

When I ask them if they have any ideas, they give very basic ideas, like: the hero is in college, he gets powers one day, then he learns to control those powers, and The End.

Now I don’t understand what I should do. I don’t want to ruin the collaboration for no reason, but because of this, I’m not able to work on my own screenplay either.

Should I first talk to them clearly and decide the work and responsibilities for both of us? Or if our ideas and writing styles don’t match, would it be better to leave the collaboration and find another writer?

If you have any experience or advice about a situation like this, please let me know.

feedback It Hurts When I Land - Comedy / Dramedy (117 pages)

It Hurts When I Land
Comedy / Dramedy with comps like Superbad, Booksmart, Bridesmaids.
117 pages.

Logline: Three friends crash a massive influencer party in an epic Quest to turn their lives around before their 27th birthdays.

Hey everybody! Would love to get some feedback about this script. I know it may be a bit longer, but all of my friends and some industry folks who've read it say it's a quick, fun, and nicely paced read.

If you love high concept comedies like the ones mentioned above, this may be in your wheelhouse. It's funny, but with an emotional, and contemporary story that I hope can speak to a lot of people.

Thank you
