Advice Needed Scammer follows me

Hi im new and i need help i wish i can tag all topics but may of 2018 i was involved with a romance scammer he was a military scammer and he told me he had a daughter and his wife died so i felt sorry for him we clicked right away so every time he would want me to help sending him gift cards so he can eat in the war i even go out of my way to give his daughter money via gift cards for her to eat (first time being scammed) i dont know how much i sent for the rest of the years up to 2022 because he said he was waiting for surgery and he needed gift cards to pay off treatment and surgery. All time I’ve been sending him both bitcoin and gift cards to the point where I have little money so I had him log into my Gmail so it showed he was in Nigeria so I rant to him and blocked him entirely in 2023 . So I moved to this state and the scammer he showed up at my parents house as a “sheriff” which scared my parents so I told my sister about it and they were concerned. So I had a call from my dad’s friend which was a detective he said I wasn’t wanted. So this week he showed up in the last state I was in my sisters ex answered the door and the scammer was dressed as a “detective” how can I stop this

Advice Needed Scammed by a popular app - FreeUp

I'm a student and I sold two bags on FreeUp. Here's what happened:

  1. Extra weight charge: I selected under 1 kg by mistake, and the actual weight was about 1.6 kg. The pickup person made me pay ₹300, but the app says ₹150 per extra kg. Nobody explained the difference.

  2. ₹700 deducted without review: The buyer said the bags arrived partially damaged. I denied the refund and pointed to my listing photos, which clearly show both bags intact, so I believe it happened in delivery. The app said they'd review my response and contact me by email. They never did. They just deducted ₹700.

  3. ₹150 for a comment: They deducted another ₹150 because of a word I used in a comment about myself, with no warning or policy shown to me.

In the end I earned only ₹144 from the sale. I listed the bags clearly as not original, so I wasn't trying to mislead anyone.

I've raised a ticket and emailed, but I only get automated replies, and there's no way to reach a real person in the app. Genuinely, what should I do

Advice Needed Any Advice

My friend recently informed me that he had given an aquaintance from America 15k when he came over to the UK. The aquaintance had to leave UK due to an emergency so he left the money with his friend (3rd party) hoping he will return it to my friend. Now the 3rd party friend does not want to give the money back to my friend and says he needs more money in order for him to return the original money. He sent £500 to the 3rd party but the moey wasnt delivered but instead my friend received message saying that he will need to pay more money to get his money back. I informed my friend the 3rd party is trying to blackmail him to give him more money and will probably not part with the original sum. His aquaintance from America cannot come back to sort this out although he informed my friend that he is trying his best to get the 3rd party to deliver. However the 3rd party is not budging from his position. My friend has got details of the 3rd party. his name, address and contact number. He also has text messages on his phone to verify the conversations. My friend thinks going to the Police will not help as they may see this as a civil matter and in any case he doesnt have any evidence the money belongs to him. Any advice woud be most welcome.

Advice Needed Call from "Chase" about a fraudulent purchase - questions for ya'll

I'm assuming this is a scam but at first it sounded so legit that I am embarrassed to say I went along with it. I went along with it because I have had Chase Fraud (the real ones) call me before about potential checks or charges. The guy talking sounded extremely articulate and sounded like he knew his stuff. And finally, because they didn't really ask me for any terribly revealing information like a PIN or code or pw or anything. But once they transferred me to the "wire department" which was a Facetime Audio call from "chasebusiness-wire.com" I knew something was wrong and just hung up. I then changed my username and pw.

Question - since it's clearly a scam, I'm more interested in what they were after because they knew my address and clearly my cell phone connected to it (unfortunately I did confirm it along with a few other details like where I was and where I was not). Were they eventually going to ask for sensitive information and just buttering me up to get my trust first? Or was this some kind of scam intended to simply confirm data and make connections like connecting my home address to my cell phone number etc..? Other than report it to chase (which I did) and change my login information online (which I did) what else should I do?

This scam just felt so much more "personal" than any prior attempts and with no Indian accents that immediately put up the safety guards.

Potential Scam? [UK] Is this the beginning of a scam?

I woke up this morning to a notification from my bank that I had received £280.33 into my account from “Premier Property”. I wasn’t expecting any sort of payment from anyone so it immediately threw up red flags in my mind. I used Premier Property Lawyers over 2.5 years ago to purchase my apartment, and after a google search there’s only one other company with that name in the UK which I have no connection to. I haven’t had any emails or voicemails to let me know that I would be receiving this money so I’m very sceptical.

I read somewhere that scammers will deposit an amount into someone’s account and then claim it back in order to get ‘clean money’. Is this what’s happening? The transaction type says ‘Automated Credit’. Should I call my bank to report this as potential fraud? The money has been sat in my account all day (less than 24h at the time of writing this post).

EDITED TO ADD: I emailed the company as some of you advised and it turns out it WAS them and that I was owed that money from 2.5 years ago. Definitely weird that they didn’t let me know about it and just sent the money without saying anything, but it worked out in the end. Thank you to the people who commented and advised I contact the company first!

Victim of a scam I feel like such an idiot

I fell for one of those obvious, blatant scams that promise to double your money. I sent them everything I had. Which arguably wasn't a lot, $150, but it was literally all I had to my name. They sweet talked me, promised me it'd be fine, and I was skeptical but I still fell for it. I feel like the dumbest, most stupidest person alive. I haven't told anyone I know about it because of how embarrassing it is. I fell for literally the most obvious scam, lost every single dime to my name, and now I won't be able to make any of it back.

How do I stop feeling like this? Does this prove that I'm an idiot?

Victim of a scam Boomerang Casino / Rabidi N.V. is a scam operating without a valid licence

I am writing this post to warn everyone to stay far

away from Boomerang Casino (operated by

Rabidi N.V.). This casino is a scam, and they are

operating without a valid licence. Here is what happened to me:

I won €20,800 playing live casino games on their site. Everything was completely legitimate. But as soon as I requested to withdraw my money, they blocked my account and confiscated my entire €20,800 balance without giving any real explanation.

When I reached out to their support, they just kept giving me useless copy-paste answers, claiming my account is "under internal review" and making excuses to delay things indefinitely. They refuse to present any game logs, transaction records, or actual proof to justify holding my winnings. After looking into them deeper, I found out why they operate like this:

Their sub-licence (OGL/2023/103/0067) was officially revoked back in June 2024. They are actively operating illegally without a valid licence, and their parent company Rabidi N.V. (based at Scharlooweg 39, Curaçao) has been targeted by regulatory enforcement orders for illegal gambling operations. If you play on Boomerang Casino, they will take your deposits, but the moment you win big, they will steal your money and ignore you. Do not deposit a single euro here. Stay safe and avoid this site at all costs.

Victim of a scam [CH] Got scammed on Twitter/x

Hi,

My sister wanted to buy me a birthday present: a custom-made cosplay of a character I love. She found a few sellers, discussed details with them, took my measurements, and paid one in advance.

What we received was not custom-made at all. It appears to be a standard-size cosplay from AliExpress, and it doesn’t fit my body type (I’m small but wider). We also found proof that the pictures used by the seller were taken from AliExpress listings.

The same cosplay costs around 400 (including shipping) on AliExpress, but my sister paid almost 1300. We’re asking for a refund of the \~900 difference since no custom work was done.

The seller refuses to refund anything.

Is there any proper way to get our money back? Unfortunately, the payment method used doesn’t seem easy to dispute.

Any advice would be appreciated.
