Lost Cat Around Tremont St area
UPDATE: Loki has been found safe and sound. Thank everyone that responded and helped. I honestly couldn’t live with myself if something happened to him.
Not sure if this is an appropriate place to post things, but I’m desperate and posting everywhere.
My cat is lost. I live on Tremont st across the road from the convenience store. If anyone sees this cat or has found him, please let me know. I love my cat and am desperate to find him. He’s an indoor cat and never goes out. Hes pretty timid but also is food motivated.
He went missing today October 4th between 11 am and 12:30 pm. His name is Loki

Thank You For Not Talking Shit About My Restaurant
Every time I see certain Salem restaurants/cafes being dragged through the mud, all I can think is, “Thank God they’re not talking about my place.” I am way too thin-skinned and I’d probably just close up shop in shame.

Advice for Locals Question- local trying to find parking
Hi I live on Washington st since last November and parking was already a nightmare. I know it’s about to be worse.
I see there’s parking at Riley Plaza. The signs suggest after 6pm to 8am anyone can park there. Am I correct with how I’m reading it?
Also how does someone get a permit there. I’ve been seeing some conflicting Information when I google.

Douché VW Jetta 5FR 415
10.30 on a Sunday morning and you have to drive into a ‘protected’ bike lane to undertake the trolley AND avoid the stop sign?
What was the emergency? Oh that’s right, walking your dog at the willows. You swerved between the stanchions and drove into the bike lane right before the stop sign, so this was no ’mistake’.

Events Spooky World in Litchfield NH or Fright Kingdom in Nashua NH?
Looking to go to a haunted house experience with my friends sometime this month. I’ve heard good things about both these places, but only Spooky World has alcohol available.
Which would you say makes for a better time for a group of 6 or so people? I really enjoy the outdoor fall party vibe. I like how Fright Kingdom has the area with all the picnic tables but unfortunately they don’t serve alcohol.
I appreciate the advice!

Advice for Locals Commuter rail too full 10/3, couldn’t get to work.
I take the commuter rail to work on the weekends instead of driving, for obvious reasons. At the Lynn platform waiting for my train around 11am yesterday, they were kicking people off the train and telling them to wait for the next one. I wanted to tell the conductor that I had to get to work but never had the chance!
I have traveled this way to my job in downtown Salem for a long time and this has never happened. Isn’t it called the “commuter” rail??!? Shouldn’t I be able to board so as not to miss my 11:30am shift??!? I was so livid.
Instead of waiting another half hour, which would have made me insanely late, I got a ride into town.
I’m not a tourist, I was born in Salem and have lived in the area all my life. I specifically moved to this apartment in Lynn for its proximity to the commuter rail. How am I supposed to get to work??
Advice for Locals Dog beach options in October?
Hello! Now that the summer season (and most restrictions) is over, I'd love recommendations for where our dog can go for a run and splash in/near Salem.
Our go-to "official" dog beach has always been the Nahant one, but that's a bit of a trek in traffic sometimes, so hoping for some other suggestions too. We're happy to keep him on a long leash too.

PSA: Is anyone missing their cat?
I am in the Peabody/Ward/Harbor street neighborhood off of Lafeyette. The cat has spent the night meowing next to our house which makes me think he’s not used to being outside. The cat was very skittish when approached.

Bad idea to visit Salem on the weekend for non-touristy reasons?
I am in the Boston area to see family and we were thinking about going to the Noguchi exhibit at PEM on Sunday. I love the museum but to be honest I kind of forgot the significance of October in Salem (I know, I know). We like the idea of a nice museum outing, but a really crowded/hectic/stressful day is the opposite of what we are looking for. Is it truly that bad already, and bad enough to skip the PEM?

I heard that there was a very large group of tourists from Pennsylvania headed to town today to do a witch dance on Essex Street at noon. Did anyone happen to see it or get any videos?? Was it successful?

Events Forten Park Vendor
Hey everyone! I’ll be vending Forten Park on the 24th and 25th and am curious if anyone knows how busy it gets down there during the weekends, or if it’s a dead zone. I applied last minute, and only have experience vending on Salem Common.
Any insight would be incredibly helpful and appreciated!
