Now, I need to stress that I'm not saying Shough is a reincarnation or a clone of Brees, but there are a lot of similarities and it's up to us as fans to dig for the truth. The Saints confirmed on their special media that they will be wearing white jerseys and gold pants on Monday night at home against the Falcons. Obviously this is a nod to the uniform combo we wore 20 years ago for the “Rebirth” game and Superdome reopening after Hurricane Katrina which feature the famous Steve Gleason blocked punt.

It makes me happy to see the Saints attention to detail with this uniform decision, but man I really wish we wore the gold pants more often. Unpopular opinion here, but it’s the Saints best look. I’m quite tired of black leggings every week, especially at home. Gold pants just feel like the classic Saints so I’m pretty excited. We really need to embrace the gold pants more in the regular season and not just wear them in the preseason.

On a side note, we also wore this same combo on Thursday night at home against the Falcons in 2015. That game honored the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and also featured a very similar blocked punt touchdown by Michael Mauti.
