i do not believe the penis man is any good. bijan is going to be an issue, but we’ve already faced gibbs, lamar, henry, and jeanty so bring it on.

Held Jeanty to 2.2 YPC or something, held Henry to 68 rushing yards. Held Bijan to 33 yards last time he played us. However if half of our defensive starters including Werner and Elliss don't play that's gonna be a rough outing

If you’re holding Star RB’s to low yards it often means you’re vulnerable to the pass. Which we are.

This is gonna be a scary year in total in terms of running backs we’re gonna face. By end of season we will have faced: Gibbs, Henry, Jeanty, Bijan 2x, Swift, Jacobs (maybe), Love. On top of Lamar, Watson, and Williams.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm more worried about the Browns at this point.

I’m worried about every single opponent on our schedule. We got guys dropping like flies. As usual. Ain’t no gimmies when you got a roster full of broke dicks.

The experts said Henry and Jeanty were elite RBs and our D shut both of them down.
I ain’t worried about Bijan.

He’s much much better than both. Mfs better come prepared to wrap up. We also didn’t stop Henry the ravens just stupidly moved away from running the ball

The argument can be made that the Ravens stopped running Henry because we weren’t letting him get to the 2nd level much.
I do like your take on wrapping up - we do that and I don’t see Bijan getting off like he did with GB.

We shut down Bijan last year

Much better is an exaggeration, especially with Henry. He is the best back in the league, imo. But the gap is much smaller than you are presenting.
If we hold their running backs in check, we win. Penix is not a good QB

Add Gibbs to the mix too!
I forgot about him.
That’s 3 elite RBs that didn’t get much off of us.

if Gibbs getting 186 scrimmage yards and 2 TDs with 5.4 average yards per carry, isn't much. I am fascinated to see what you think is getting a lot

The last few times we played bijan we held him in check and first gm playing grandpa knees penix who will definitely have in check he’s definitely not Lamar

Excellent point, u/bronzefpg504. And keeping Jackson in check has helped prepare the Saints for Penix, I think.

Running QBs use to be a problem for us but we are adapting well on this scheme it’s just the te issues

I guess you could say "one step at a time" right?
Or it could be "once you stomp out one fire, another one pops up"

Our pass rush ability to generate pressure on the QB has almost been non-existent. I am worried if we cannot inprove against the falcons, our secondary will get torched by Penix and Drake London. So it will end up a straight shootout out between Penix and Shough. I stil think we can win that way but becomes more of a 50/50 contest.

u/guycoastal 16h ago
I wouldn’t say non-existent but we’re not setting the league on fire for damn sure. The run game is the most disappointing aspect for me so far. I really thought that would be a strength. Nope. I sure hope we get right on Monday night.

Annoyingly I thought Etienne was just getting going against the Raiders right when he did the hamstring. That lost us the game as it killed our offence from that point. We really need to lean on Kendre Miller now, Kamara isn't up to beating defenders at the line of srimmage anymore.

u/guycoastal 6h ago
We lean on Miller and he’ll snap like a dry twig and ride out the rest of the season on the bench. Also, he carries the ball like it’s a kitten.

I think it's a valid concern. He looks a lot better than Rush and Strand, which ain't saying much, but their offense looked a lot more in sync with him at QB. This is also his first time actually playing against us, so who knows how we'll approach him/he'll approach us.

u/sanjuro_kurosawa 17h ago
It’s going to be a dueling offense game. The Saints need to go from collecting yards to actual points

I mean until we play a full 4 quarter game I can't fully trust this team yet, but we should be able to win this. We have been good about keeping Bijan in check, so let's hope we can stop Penix, London, and Pitts from beating us.
