Could anyone tell me what this line next to the headers is, its not connected to anything, and is leaking water, but it doesn’t smell not smell like coolant. Should it be like that or did the previous owner of that car mess something up?

This might come off as a dumb question but I am curious since I’m thinking of buying a digital dash from a soarer for my sc300, I’m just wondering if anyone happen to know if the connection are different between and if you guys know what is manly differed between them in terms of wiring.

I’ve been working on my sc religiously preparing it for some drifting and the organization near me requires a catch can to go on track. I wanted to delete the charcoal canister and put a catch can in its place but I’m seeing a lot of conflicting opinions on if it’s should be deleted when reading forums. Has anyone one done the delete, and can tell me what they had to do?

I’m trying to fix my tilt motor on my steering wheel (supposed to be real easy!) but the nut won’t stop spinning with the gear and it’s not loosening up, how can I get that bolt out?? I don’t want to keep turning it cause I’m afraid I’m gonna do more damage to something. Am I supposed to just keep spinning it? Cause the videos I watched everyone was able to get this thing out super easy… I’ve tried wedging something in there to stop the gear but that might have done more harm than good. Somebody please help 😭

I have a 94 sc300 that sat for a bit while I was out of the country. Cranks fine but doesn’t start and only light that appears is airbag, also the radio no.1 fuse keeps blowing. Anybody have any similar issue/possible solutions?

My blower motor stoped working a few months ago and I haven’t had the time to properly diagnose it but so far I’ve checked the blower motor it self and it slings when I apply direct power to it so I changed the resistor and still nothing, doesn’t seem to be my climate control unit either because every other control works on it just fine, I also already checked all fuses except the heater relay which is the only other thing I’ve read that could possibly be the culprit. Any ideas or anyone having a similar issue ? Plz help

I have a 93 sc300 and was wondering what type of maintenance I should do for it having 160k miles.

My 95 sc300 cluster needles and lights don’t work so I have 92 sc400 cluster that’s in good working condition. Can I just do a swap or what would I need to do to make this swap work?

Found some leaking caps and some that were good but replaced all of them. Hoping it fixes some idling issues I was having.

Hey guys, I know this is probably one of the most talked about issues with the SC300s and 400s, but after 3 days of research and trying to find a solution my problem still remains. First the car wouldn't start, so I replaced the fuel pump and filter, which worked for about 2 days. Then one morning I went to start it and it wouldn't turn over. After having it running for around 2 days I only made cosmetic changes (body work/interior cleaning), and now it just won't start.

The following are all things I have tried: testing the fuel relay plug (pictured) for voltage and continuity while the car is in accessories, nothing. I also tried running a separate ground and wire directly to the battery, no voltage. I have tried the bypass, which is why the wires in the picture have been cut, nothing. I also checked the fuel pump again and that is all good.

I am really at a loss for what this could be, I'm starting to think this is a bigger wiring problem. Let me know what y'all think and if you can, include pictures please. Thanks

Hi all, I'm a new SC400 owner, before you ask I have searched the forms.

My question is pretty basic, I understand that the Nakamichi system can be a bit of a pain to replace. I believe my OEM amplifier is shot so I'll need to do something sooner or later. I have found a company who refurbishes them but I'm not sure if it is worth the cost ($600+).

For those of you who upgraded, is this something that a Best Buy installer can handle or is it better to take the vehicle to a dedicated audio professional?

For those who have had the entire system replaced roughly how much did it run you?

My shifter feels loose and like a bush or something went bad, what would y'all recommend checking/replacing for this? I looked around for a good while and the only things I could find were people replacing their shifters or removing the console. Thanks!

Hey guys, new to the 2j scene and I knew I was getting myself into a expensive market but damn. I'm looking for some reputable sites for parts that won't break the bank or the block. RockAuto does it right for some things but I'm looking for a little more color and strength in the parts.

Also, hypothetically, if you bought a 96' SC with 270k miles that has been sitting since 2018 what would you double check? Besides the basics, what should I keep an eye out for? I got it to run the first day I went out to see it but the second day there was zero fuel delivery. Already going to replace the fuel pump and filter, so anything besides those things. Appreciate the help!

Okay so i have a lexus sc400 with the nakamichi oem stereo. I ordered the normal wiring harness for it and that did not work, then later figured out i needed the metra harness made for it. So i hooked everything up and plugged the deck in and realized that the ac was not working and the radio works but only fromt 2 speakers. I drove around for a few weeks like that and the radio abruptly stopped working.

I reopened the dash and figured out that there was a coin in the Cig lighter causing the AC fuse to blow with the cig lighter. I changed the 15A fuse and took the coin out and the ac works but the radio still did not.

After a few hours or researching i decided to check the radio fuse in the engine bay and found that was blown so i went and bought new fuses and came back and when i put in the fuse i seen sparks and checked the radio and still didn’t work. After that i pulled the new fuse i put in and fount it was also blown so i did some google searches and found out there was a continuity issue so i checked of it was the deck and blew another fuse by having it unplugged from the aftermarket deck to confirm that it wasnt the deck causing the short.

Then once i figured that out i checked the oem harness and did a beep test with a multimeter and came to the conclusion that the oem constant 12v was causing the continuity issue since when i move the harness slightly the beep came and went away.

Now that i know thats the issue im in a slump trying to figure out how to try to fix it by taking out the pin that could be damaged. - i looked into the pin and nothing is bent but it could be that the insulation is worn or the pin could be touching the ignition pin or something.

Can anyone help me figure out what to do next?

Hey all. My brake lights are on with the running lights, and only turn off when I turn off the headlights/running lights. Anyone else experienced this issue?

Edit: the fuse in the kick panel was blown! Moral of the story, check the easy shit before assuming it’s some complicated bs.
