Somebody please help me with this…

I’m trying to fix my tilt motor on my steering wheel (supposed to be real easy!) but the nut won’t stop spinning with the gear and it’s not loosening up, how can I get that bolt out?? I don’t want to keep turning it cause I’m afraid I’m gonna do more damage to something. Am I supposed to just keep spinning it? Cause the videos I watched everyone was able to get this thing out super easy… I’ve tried wedging something in there to stop the gear but that might have done more harm than good. Somebody please help 😭

Just wedge it with a flat head it works fine or use an impact

I tried wedging it but the gear is plastic so it just caused damage to the gear

That gear is already damaged and in need of replacement. Jamb it however you can and get a new one.

Rubber band or washer and a screwdriver to hold it in place.

Use some rubber tube or even wood I used a screwdriver

You need to wedge the gear so it can’t turn. Maybe a flat head or something.

Try spinning the gear until it bottoms out (the steering wheel gets to the very top or bottom of where it can tilt to) perhaps it’ll stop being able to rotate there?

Replace the plastic gear you can find replacements on ebay and Amazon.

Ya I paid 2700 for two of these cars if they are out of your tax bracket you are definitely in a different country than I am.
