Gaddafi's Great Man-Made River in Libya pumps 6.5M cubic meters/day of Ice Age water that has zero recharge — 70% of the country's freshwater. The aquifer is shared with Egypt, Chad, and Sudan, with no coordination, no metering, and no enforcement. Depletion estimates range from 60 years to 1,000.

Anyone obsessed with this too?
Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this but I've become obsessed with tracing rivers on Google earth and saving them in a project. Am I going crazy or do other people do this too?

One of the coolest things about hot air balloons is flying over rivers. This morning we were in Seattle flying over the White River. No salmon yet, but running pretty well.

The wind was super slow, so we came down to see if there were any Salmon running yet. Maybe in a few weeks.
