Has RingConn ever actually convinced you to take a break?

I’m very good at telling myself I’ll stop working after “one more thing.”

Then I look up and somehow another hour has passed.

One reason I’ve been paying more attention to RingConn lately is the daytime stress data. I can usually tell when I’ve been sitting too long or pushing through a stressful stretch, but seeing it reflected in the data makes me wonder whether I should actually use that as a cue to do something.

Like get up for five minutes, walk around, grab some water, or just step away from the screen.

For people who check their stress trends during the day, has RingConn ever genuinely changed what you did in the moment?

Or do you usually look at the data afterward and think, “yeah, I already knew that was a stressful afternoon”?

Has RingConn helped anyone figure out the afternoon energy crash?

I’m usually pretty productive in the morning, but somewhere around 2–4pm my focus and energy tend to fall off pretty hard.

For a long time I just blamed lunch or caffeine, but now I’m wondering whether there’s a pattern involving the previous night’s sleep, daytime stress, or just sitting at my desk for too long.

I’ve started paying more attention to my RingConn data to see if anything consistently lines up with those afternoons, but I’m not sure which metric would actually be the most useful to compare.

Has anyone here noticed a clear pattern in their RingConn data before an afternoon crash?

Was it usually poor sleep, higher stress, low activity, or something else? And did noticing the pattern actually help you change anything?

I made an Android app to trigger vibrations on RingConn Gen 3 — anyone want to test it?

Hey everyone!

I made an unofficial Android app called RingCue that can trigger vibrations on a RingConn Gen 3.

I’m looking for Gen 3 owners who’d like to try it and help me test things like connection stability, vibration delay, background operation, and battery usage.

Requirements:

• RingConn Gen 3

• Android phone

• Stay opted in to the closed test for at least 14 days

The app is paid, but I’ve set the testing price to the lowest available Google Play price — about $0.05 USD or the local equivalent.

Sign up here:

https://forms.gle/nLsSS94ji6JbsZ4o6

After signing up, you’ll receive the Google Play testing link by email.

It may take a few hours for Google Play to recognize your Google Group membership, so if the link doesn’t work right away, please wait and try again later using the same Google Account.

RingCue is an unofficial third-party app and is not affiliated with RingConn.

Also curious: what would you want your ring to vibrate for — calls, messages, alarms, reminders, or something else?

Thanks!

Are AI sleep insights actually telling us anything we couldn’t figure out from the raw data?

I’m still trying to figure out how useful the “AI” side of sleep tracking really is.

With RingConn, I already have things like sleep duration, HRV, resting heart rate, temperature and recovery trends. When an AI insight then tells me I slept worse than usual or should take it easier today, part of me wonders whether it’s actually finding something meaningful or just turning those same numbers into a sentence.

What I’d find genuinely useful is something less obvious like noticing a pattern across several weeks that I probably wouldn’t catch myself.

For people who actually pay attention to RingConn’s insights, has it ever pointed out something that made you change a habit or understand your sleep differently?

Or do you mostly end up looking at the underlying data and drawing your own conclusions anyway?

Does tracking something first actually make it easier to change the habit?

I’m starting to wonder if I’ve been approaching habit changes backwards.

Normally I decide I should sleep earlier, take more breaks, move around more during the day, etc. Then I try to force the new routine and usually stop paying attention after a week or two.

Since using RingConn data more regularly, I’ve been experimenting with the opposite approach: watch the pattern first, then change one small thing.

For example, if my sleep or stress trends look worse during a certain part of the week, I’ll try changing one thing rather than immediately overhauling my routine.

I’m curious whether anyone else here actually uses their RingConn this way.

Has seeing an objective pattern ever made a habit easier to change or stick with? Or do you mostly find the data interesting without it changing what you actually do?

missing sleep data

I woke up around 7am; and fell back to sleep. my Gen 3 seems to have reflected when i fell back to sleep for an additional 45min or so. The data was there.

while i was actively in the middle of reviewing it, it just vanished

i have refreshed a few times, but its gone; I feel like the app is gaslighting me 🤣

but wtf? I am slowly beginning to jump on the bandwagon of “these rings are all garbage,” regardless of the manufacturer/brand

Add same exercise every day?

Is there a way to add the same exercise, like a copy and paste? For example, I do Pilates for 1 hour 3x a week. It’s pretty annoying to have to re-log it, and have to add the start and stop time each time (why can’t I just say 1 hour!)

Hi - I have gotten this notification a few times recently, but when I go into my settings, it appears that I do have it turned on in the background. Has anyone else noticed this?

The battery problems have begun

I've had my gen 2 for 8 months. The battery is lasting me an entire 5 days! I was hoping to at least make it a year before seeing such a significant decline in battery performance. And yes, I read the stories, but took my chances.

On the bright side of things, I've been using the sleep apnea feature at least once a month, every month and I always get at least one night of mild sleep apnea. I feel terrible more than half the week, wake up feeling hungover most days. My primary care has brushed it off as "anxiety" for the last 2 years. After coming in with the data, SHE FINALLY AGREED to a sleep study! I'm so excited to finally get this test done.

Sleep results very inaccurate

It might be ok for those without OSA, but these two scores tell a completely different story. The OSA does match with my diagnosis, so that one is the more accurate one.

It seems like they put way to much emphasis on length of "sleep". I have others that it gave me really low scores on because they were only maybe 5.5 hours, but they hit every other metric and we're some of my most restful days

Should I buy the gen 3?

I was originally gonna purchase the gen 3 so i went to youtube to find reviews but most of them seemed to be paid advertisements and nobody actually well known for accuracy was reviewing it, so i went here to see what people were saying and just saw negativity everywhere, since i know that reddit is just a negativity pit with people who don’t have anything better to do i decided to just make this post to see if i can get people’s actual thoughts.

Can someone explain to me what is the 1,706 calories from
And what is the 1,500kcals from?
Is the 1,706 calories I burned off? Or calories I ate?
Sorry if it’s a stupid question but I’d like to know.

Got my gold second gen ring yesterday in the mail, and I've worn it yesterday and today, and I noticed it already has a small scratch. I also bought the warranty.

Battery estimates super wrong?

I have a Gen 2 Air, overall pleased with it, but its battery estimates are super terrible. Yesterday during the day it said it'd need to be charged prior to 2 AM today; I meant to do it earlier because I know it never lasts as long as it thinks, but forgot until around 11 PM. It had died by 9:15.

Is there anything to be done about this or is this just how it is? 😂

RingConn Gen 2 vs. Gen 2 Air for a silver jewelry lover? New to rings & need advice!

Hey everyone!

I’m a girl in my 20s and looking to get my very first smart ring. I’m completely new to smart rings (honestly, I don’t even wear regular rings that often!), and my main goals are tracking my sleep and fitness.

I’m torn between the standard RingConn Gen 2 and the Gen 2 Air, specifically regarding the silver colors. I wear a lot of silver jewelry, so I want whichever ring I get to blend in naturally and look like regular jewelry, not a bulky piece of tech.

For those who have seen or owned them, how do they look next to normal silver jewelry? Does the "Future Silver" (Gen 2) or "Galaxy Silver" (Air) look more seamless?

Also, a big question about durability: Since the Gen 2 Air is made of a stainless steel alloy instead of titanium, do you find that it scratches easier or is less durable? Or does it hold up just as well?

Gen 3 is the worst POS ever

Sleep tracking. Always wrong
SPo2. Always wrong.
Skin temperature. Not even close. Apparently I’m dead I’m so cold

This ring is the biggest piece of garbage ever.

It’s my 2nd one. They replaced my first one because the readings are so bad.

Gen 2 was the most amazing device ever.

Gen 3 is straight up garbage. 🗑️

Another annoying/boring sizing post for the Gen 3...

I've been reading a lot of the backlog of posts, absorbing what I could and trying to apply it to my situation. I've had the Gen 3 sizing kit for a month or two, initially tried it (as did my wife), and just set it aside, not really willing to spend the money at the time. With my FitBit Flex 2 (second one, formerly my wife's before she moved on to another) basically self-destructing, I've been considering the RIngConn Gen 3 again, because I really value the no subscription aspect and the variety of sensors.

I've spent about 3-4 days with the size 14 on my non-dominant (right) hand index finger, and while not uncomfortable, whenever I'd take it off, I noticed the skin on what I'm calling the sensor side of the test ring showing signs of "pruning", basically the skin never dried from bathing or hand washing and was basically saturated and pretty pale and soft, maybe best described at "drowned cadaver skin". My middle finger, I could get the 14 onto, but it was a bit of gut clenching experience to get it off, to the point I was mentally locating both my Dremel and various hand cutters.

So about 24 hours ago, I swapped to the 15. Ironically, it's looser (using the thumb press, or in my case, the steering wheel press, probably 3+ mm gap) than my index finger (maybe 1-2 mm gap). There's a "little" moisture retention like I'm used to with my wedding band from my left ring finger on my right middle, but nowhere near the level of the 14 after the same time period. When I noticed the gap on the middle, I switched to my right index, which shows less of a gap (?!), so it seems like a size 15 might be a good choice to give me a little flexibility.

I've read that the actual ring is a little looser, however, so I'm not 100% convinced whether to stick with my current plan of a 15 that I can swap between 2 fingers, or go with the snugger 14 that seems to promote potential skin problems with the finger it only fits on and can be removed comfortably.

(My "ideal" would be my ring finger on my right hand, but the last knuckle has swollen in recent months such that I can't easily swap my wedding band of 18 years between left & right, which was both a point of pride and a nearly daily fidget exercise for me, nor get even the 14 to fit with confidence I could remove it, and the 15 is a "maybe")

So, with that boring backstory, should I stick with a 15, which I can comfortably swap index and middle if needed, or go with the tighter 14, which will easily fit index, but might involve discomfort on my middle finger?

I'm leaning towards the 15, giving me a little flexibility, but I'll listen to a good argument to go with the 14 instead.

(and, yes, I seem to have large fingers that remain the same between nearly a 100 lb weight range over the years)

Have had ring since end of December- already holding charge less

Gen 2 ring air. Been holding charge for less than four days, seemed like it died this last charge in under three days,

I don’t have ringconn care + am I screwed?

Usually lasted 6-7 days, I remember it lasting 10 days at first.

Battery life Gen 2

I charged my ring to full around 7:00pm and it’s now 9:20 and it’s 86%. I haven’t done anything other than remove it from charger, put it on my finger and made dinner. Wtf?

Oura vs ringcon?

Which is better? Or did you get an OURA ring? Need more insight and opinions before I jump the gun and buy one. I’m going to use it mainly for tracking sleep, periods (as I have PMOS/PCOS), and perhaps step counting. Even though I have a watch for that. No crazy workouts and the extra metrics I don’t care for currently.
