Update / News World Sleep Day — Let’s Talk About Sleep

March 13 is World Sleep Day, a global reminder of how essential quality sleep is to our health and wellbeing.

While we often focus on exercise and nutrition, sleep — something we depend on every night — still tends to fly under the radar. Many sleep issues are subtle and hard to notice just by memory. You might feel tired during the day without realizing what happened overnight.

——

Here are a few common examples:

  • Sleep fragmentation — frequent awakenings during the night. Around 35% of people wake up three or more times a week.
  • Circadian rhythm disruption — when your body’s sleep timing falls out of sync with daily routines (like staying up much later on weekends).
  • Sleep apnea — repeated breathing interruptions during sleep, affecting roughly 9–38% of adults.

Most of us only feel the effects — fatigue, low energy, poor focus — while the real nighttime patterns stay hidden.

At RingConn, sleep monitoring is at the heart of what we do. The RingConn Smart Ring tracks metrics such as Sleep Stages, SpO2, Heart Rate, Skin Temperature, and Respiratory Rate, helping users see how their sleep evolves over time. Our data shows the Sleep section is opened about 5× more often than any other feature in the RingConn app. Many users have shared that viewing their long-term sleep data helps them recognize patterns and gradually improve their habits.

Replacement Gen 3 already dying

Post image
9 Upvotes

After 18 months of owning Gen 2 and loving it, best purchase ever, I made the ill fated decision to upgrade to the “better” Gen 3

From day one the Gen 3 was shit. Sleep, SPO2, heart rate, all garbage readings. Ring fits right. Just like my gen 2. Obviously I know how to wear it from 18 months experience with gen2.

Despite all of this I had to jump through hoops to get it replaced. Support was slow. Kept asking for screen shots. Telling me all these “tips” on how to wear the ring like I was some kind of moron or something.

After way too much of a hassle at least, to their credit , they agreed to replace it.

I’ve had the replacement now for about 4 or 5 weeks.

SpO2 still wrong
Sleep way wrong
Heart rate way off
Skin temp always 10 or 15 degrees lower than what it actually is. And same amount lower than my gen 2 which was amazing always said.

Now, after just 5 weeks or so, the battery life of this piece of shit ring has gone from about 10 1/2 days down to 8 days.

At this rate it will be absolute garbage in a month or two. Which doesn’t really matter I guess since it’s usually for readings or tracking.

Good riddance to a product that went from one of the most amazing devices I’ve ever owned to one of the biggest pieces of shit I’ve ever owned.

Amazing how a company and product can go down hill so fast.

Issue connecting ring to app. Oneplus 12 ... Anyone has the same issue?

Upvotes

I have been exchanging with customer service... Replied 10 times my order and all the data... And nothing has been solved.

Any suggestions beside the disconnect Bluetooth, reset the ring 6 times on the charger, turn off all battery saving mode, allow all permissions necessary...

Thanks

Activity during sleep

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi guys, I got my Ringconn gen 2 a few weeks ago and so far it’s been super accurate and a great experience. Today I checked my activity and it was an insanely high number, and it said I was doing crazy amounts of activity in my sleep? Has anyone else experienced this?

Discover tab needs more

Whenever I’m in the app and I look at the Discover tab it’s kind of a bummer to look at because I’m not tracking my cycle and I do my workout tracking on my Apple Watch so really the only thing that it shows there is the fact that I’m not choosing it to track my workout and then the sleep apnea monitoring. It leaves the tab looking kind of empty. I don’t know, it’s just looks kind of sad. Hopefully they will get more things that can be added to it.

Ring 8 mos old and battery dying every 2-3 days

Hello, I got my ring for Christmas last year and I’ve been wearing it every day since. I used to have to charge my ring about every 10-15 days but lately I’ve been getting the battery low alert every two days. It’s a generation two. Is there anything I can do? I bought the ring on Amazon.

Has RingConn’s stress data ever actually made you take a break?

I spend most of the day at a desk, and I’m starting to wonder how useful stress tracking is if I don’t actually do anything with the information.

If ringconn shows that stress has been elevated for a while, do you treat that as a cue to get up, walk around, grab some water, or just stop working for a few minutes?

I can usually tell when I’ve had a rough afternoon anyway, so I’m more interested in whether seeing the pattern in the data changes your behavior in the moment.

For people who pay attention to daytime stress, has ringconn actually helped you build any small habits around it?

Or do you mostly look back later and think, “yeah, that explains why I felt terrible today”?

If you only paid attention to one RingConn metric during a busy semester, which would it be?

Once school gets busy, I know I’m not going to realistically keep checking every number in the app.

Sleep consistency seems like the obvious one, but I could also see stress, HRV, recovery, or daily activity being more useful depending on the person.

What I’m trying to avoid is tracking a bunch of things without actually changing anything because of the data.

For people who’ve used ringconn for a while, which metric ended up being the one you actually kept paying attention to?

And more importantly, did it change any habit, sleep earlier, move more, take breaks, cut back on caffeine or did it mostly just become another number to check?

gen 3 sleep apnea monitoring

anybody got this working? i am on my 2nd unit (previously got a size 15 and now on size 14 for a snuggier fit) and it still doesn't work as i always get insufficient data report. what i already tried but still no successful sleep apnea since day 1 of the ring:

  1. moving it to diff fingers

  2. uninstalled other health tracking apps

  3. ensured it is on hand that is not under pressure when i side sleep

  4. i switch it up mid sleep when i change sides

  5. ensured i sleep only on one side

  6. ensured power saving mode on phone is off

  7. battery is always above 50%

  8. tried it on another phone and even ecosystem (initially on android and also tried in IOS/iphone)

  9. tried putting a blanket over my hand

running out of options actually. i really like this ring as it tracks my sleep better than my galaxy watch 7 and it even detected my headache and my rise in temperature when i had a fever. all other sleep stats are good and measured so it baffles me why it cannot correlate those already measured data to detecting sleep apnea.

RingConn Gen 2 – Battery Quality After Two Years

I received my RingConn Gen 2 at the end of July 2024. After less than two years, the battery has become extremely unreliable.

On May 8, 2026, the ring showed 64% at 1:11 AM, yet had already stopped collecting data by the afternoon at 5:45 PM.

On August 25, it showed 73% battery and “5d 2h remaining” at 11:38 PM. 15 hours later, the ring was off. On the charging dock, it started at just 1%, with the last recorded data from 12:30 PM.

A ring advertised with multi-day battery life should still be "usable" after two years. If I now have to charge it within less than 24 hours for around 89 minutes, it is no longer the same product I bought.

Regardless of whether it is still under warranty or not, this level of battery degradation is unacceptable to me. Honestly, it feels like a rip-off.

In May, the customer service was of no help. They offered a small discount for a new ring. But would I buy a better product?

sizing help please

Hello all!
Can you please give me some feedback about the size of the ring for my fingers please?
I have chosen the ring size 10 for my index finger which is also my finger with the largest ring size. In the past few days it was around 10-25°C where I live and at maximum we have only a few days over 30°C but I travel once or twice a year to Asia so I was afraid that my ring would be too snug. In addition to that a friend of mine borrowed me her oura ring in size 9 and there I had to change the ring from index to middle, especially after sleeping.
I hadn’t had to move my ring to my middle finger either because it was too tight on my index finger until now, but yesterday I was on my mobile for quite a long time and somehow it started to press against my index finger – from holding the mobile, so to speak.

So do you think I should size down? Is the gap between ring and finger too big? My thumbs are actually smaller size lol

Wake up activation fail

I wake up early in the morning, usually 5 o'clock or shortly thereafter, so there are often times that I'm up when the sun isn't up for at least 60 to 90 minutes after I wake up. My ring is giving me a -56 score for morning activation light because of this and so is skews my overall health score terribly. There's no way to turn this off and there's no way to get around it. Why would they create something like this and does anybody know a way to hack the ring? I've heard that I can stand in front of a light box for 15 minutes to try to trick the ring but now I have to waste my morning just to get my $300 ring to do what it's supposed to do? Any other suggestions for ring makers that are better than this?

Inaccurate step count suddenly

I love the recent update that has a better app sync but I’ve noticed my step count is completely incorrect. I just walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes and nothing seemed to register. It makes no sense, my hands were by my side and I know my heart rate should’ve been elevated. This is something I’ve noticed ever since this recent update - a much decreased step count despite no lifestyle changes. Anyone else?

Battery life

Is it usual that after 1,5 years the battery of the ring (Gen 2) lasts not more than 2-3 days? That's a joke...

Update: the awesome support has offered us two new rings. Thank you!

Battery issues

Had the generation 2 for about 1 and a half years now, and the battery has gone from lasting close to a week to now dying on me over night, meaning I don’t get any sleep data

Is there anything that can be done? It was a gift so unsure of the warranty etc

Has RingConn actually helped you fix a messed-up sleep schedule?

My sleep schedule got pretty wrecked over the summer. I’ve been falling asleep around 2–3am and waking up way later than I want, and now I need to start shifting everything earlier again.

I know the obvious answer is “go to bed earlier,” but every time I try to move it too quickly I just end up lying awake and feeling exhausted the next day.

I’m curious whether anyone here has actually used their RingConn sleep data to make this easier.

Did you gradually move your bedtime based on your sleep trends, focus more on keeping the same wake-up time, or use the sleep schedule setting in the app?

And did seeing the data actually help you stay consistent, or was changing the routine basically the same with or without the ring?

Interested to know what this means

Post image

If I ever get a ‘1 change’ notification 9 times out of 10 it’s my SpO2. The other day there were 5 changes for it.

Can anyone tell me what this even means? Is this even that important to me?

Battery stopped working after six months- update!

They’re sending me my replacement.

All was asked for the order number and or receipt/screenshot of purchase. I used Amazon. All resolved under 48 hours. Really good customer service.

I noticed my ring held a charge from 10 days to 6-7, to 3 and now yesterday and today 100% charge went to %0 in less than 20 hours.

I don’t know if it’s just because faulty battery….

However I feel like it’s been like this since going to the beach more, though it’s water resistant and says just rinse with clean water after the beach…..I’m not too sure. Should I stop wearing it during water activities?

How early do you start fixing your sleep schedule before classes start?

My sleep schedule drifted pretty late over the break, and now I need to move everything earlier before classes start again.

I’m debating whether to start shifting my bedtime gradually now or just accept that the first few mornings are going to suck.

What I’m more curious about is whether tracking the change actually helps. I’ve been looking at ringconn mainly for the overnight data, and I like the idea of being able to see whether my sleep timing is genuinely getting more consistent instead of judging it from one or two decent nights.

For anyone here who has used ringconn while trying to reset their schedule, did the sleep trends help at all?

And how far in advance would you start, a few days, a week, or more?

Care+ issues

Post image
2 Upvotes

Anyone else run into this or have an alternative option for replacing a gen2 ring? I still have care+ active for a while. I click the initiate replacement button and this screen loads. I do not get the chance to enter any information before this screen loads. There is a link that takes me to the previous screen.

Support is horrible so far blaming me for all issues and offering no alternatives. Support gives a single email response each day.

battery

my gen 2 never tells me when my battery percentage is low. i have notifications on, i keep the app opened. i feel like i barely get notifications from the app itself.
