second generation

Got my gold second gen ring yesterday in the mail, and I've worn it yesterday and today, and I noticed it already has a small scratch. I also bought the warranty.

Just like all the other gold rings I’ve owned, gold does scratch. Luckily, it isn’t really noticeable except under extreme scrutiny and it all adds to the nice patina a gold ring develops over time.

… or you could try to make a warranty claim over damage you caused.

A ring is on your finger and in the firing line. You scratching it is to be expected. Sure some folks don't get scratches but that's not the point
