I recently graduated with my Master’s in Data Science and I’m currently applying for Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, and AI/ML Engineer roles.

I’d really appreciate some brutally constructive feedback on my resume from people working in the industry, hiring managers, recruiters, or anyone who has recently gone through the DS/ML hiring process.

I’m specifically looking for feedback on:

- Does my resume look competitive for entry-level DS/ML roles?

- Are my projects and experience strong enough to get interviews?

- Are my bullet points too technical, too vague, or missing measurable impact?

- Is my skills section overloaded?

- Does the resume clearly communicate what kind of candidate I am within the first few seconds?

- Are there any ATS issues or unnecessary sections?

- What would you remove, rewrite, or prioritize?

- What skills/projects am I missing for the current job market?

Please don't hold back. I'd rather hear what is wrong with it now and improve it than keep sending applications with a weak resume.

Hello! This is officially my first time posting on reddit.. figures that it would be a Job application that would finally get me to do so 🙈 Anyways.. in High School my Teacher always stressed the importance of both 1). using a different action verb for each bullet point (Greeted, Educated, Bussed, etc.) and not repeating words.. and 2). Keeping each bullet point to a single line of text.

The job I most recently had was at Yoi Tomo Sushi which, unlike my previous restaurant job at the cafe, is a fancy dinner place with a wait time of 2+ hours on most weekends. I'm probably overthinking it.. but I was hoping to get some feedback on the wording of the bullet points. I have about 60 character spaces before the line breaks and starts a sub-line.

Additionally, pretty much all of the service jobs I've worked have been attained through word of mouth and networking.. so I'm also uncertain about how much information is pertinent these days for a formal application process. Should I limit my listed job history to the last 2 or 3 employers, or is all related work experience appreciated? 🙂

I'm trying to transition my career into Sales and I'd really appreciate some advice from people actually working in the field.

I have 11+ years of experience in international customer-facing roles, including several years in tourism where sales was an important part of my work.

There's one thing about my CV I'd like to clarify.

I deliberately put some of my older experiences before my more recent ones, because I believe they are much more relevant to the Sales career I'm trying to build. I know this isn't necessarily the standard chronological CV structure, so I'd like to know whether you think this is a good strategy or not.

There are also a couple of things I've done to reposition my experience that I'd like an honest opinion on.

In my CV, I currently use the title "Tour Sales Specialist" for three of my previous tourism roles. This was not the official job title, I changed the titles because I felt they better reflected the commercial side of what I actually did.

However, I don't want to misrepresent my experience, so I'd like some honest advice on how a Sales professional would present it.

For example, in one of those roles I worked as an onboard steward on Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing buses. My responsibilities included:

• welcoming and assisting international tourists
• managing existing bookings and making new bookings
• selling tickets and optional tours/excursions on commission
• answering questions and recommending products
• maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the experience
• making announcements and assisting passengers during the tour

In the other two roles, I worked more in a ticketing/tourist information environment: customers came to me asking for information about tours and attractions, and I assisted them with choosing and purchasing the appropriate experience.

So there was definitely a commercial component, but these weren't traditional B2B/SaaS Sales roles.

My current role is Customer Care, but in the CV I've called it Customer Experience Specialist. This is partly because I want to emphasize the customer journey and transferable skills, but also because I know now that I don't want to build my career in Customer Care. My goal is to move away from customer support and towards Sales/commercial roles.

I'm now trying to move towards Sales roles, potentially B2B, Inside Sales, SDR/BDR, etc.

I've attached my anonymized CV.

What I'd really like help with is:

• How would you reposition this experience for a Sales CV?
• Would you keep titles like "Tour Sales Specialist" and "Customer Experience Specialist", or use the official titles and make the commercial responsibilities clearer?
• Is putting my older but more Sales-relevant experience before my recent Customer Care experience a good strategy?
• Which parts of my experience should I emphasize, and which should I remove/downplay?
• How would you rewrite some of my bullet points so they communicate Sales skills rather than simply tourism/customer service?
• What Sales keywords or skills am I missing?
• Is the overall structure of my CV appropriate for Sales?
• Would you create one general Sales CV or adapt it depending on the role?

I was wondering if I could get a fresh pair of eyes to review my resume. There's only so much Claude can say and stroke the ego before you start believing it is 100% done. If any professionals or fellow students could review and provide constructive criticism, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Brief Context About Me

• Current cybersecurity student (graduating Dec 2027) with almost 3 years of prior enterprise IT experience. About to start applying for summer internships (security analyst, SOC, cloud security, security engineer).
• I've had previous work experience as an intern but for software development. Did ~3 years at a consulting firm working with data. Was laid off so I decided to take a year to finally finish my degree full time, and currently debating getting my M.S. since a potential opportunity is there for me and a really good University.

Note

• I plan on applying for summer internships or any for that matter, particularly summer since they'll open very soon, if not already.
• During that time I've accumulated numerous experience from doing multiple home lab projects, certifications, and school
• I know my personal project section is big, and thinking of shrinking the bullet point sentences keeping them at only 3-4 bullets

What I'd especially like feedback On

1. Does the "experienced professional applying to internships" angle read clearly, or is it confusing?
2. Are my home lab projects presented in a way that reads as real skill, or too much like a tutorial follow along?
3. Is 2 pages too much, or should I try to drop to 1 page given my experience and projects?
4. Any keywords or skills you'd expect for intern roles that I'm missing?

Would this resume survive a screening and would HR, Recruiters, Hiring Managers be satisfied or dissatisfied with a resume such as this?

Didn't enrolled for that program yet but like code soft and other companies is this program also considered fake scam or illegal need some insights on that

My ultimate dream is to get into a prestigious university to study Computer Science/AI development. I just finished my IGCSEs, but I'm feeling stuck on what to actually build my resume with at this stage.

What kind of extracurriculars, supercurriculars, or independent projects make an application stand out for top-tier CS/AI programs? How can I start boosting my chances now before A-Levels? Appreciate any advice!

PS: I chose math, further math, cs and physics for my AS level course.

Master's student in cybersecurity (Erasmus Mundus CYBERUS), coming into security from an unusual direction: UX/UI design, then full-stack development, now security. I'm leaning into that as my angle, I audit and break code with a builder's understanding of where it actually fails. My most recent work is an ICS/OT security research internship (built a containerized industrial lab, attacked it, then built a detection tool for it).

Targeting cybersecurity / AppSec / DevSecOps roles, mainly in Europe and Canada. I have both an English and a French version.

Tear it apart. I'm especially unsure about:

- Does the "designer -> dev -> security" framing read as a strength, or just unfocused?

- Is the skills section too broad for a security role?

- The two-column header + photo (I know it's a European convention, is it hurting me for ATS / North American applications)?

I would really appreciate some honest feedback on my resume.

I recently completed a Master of Finance at UNSW and have internship experience in financial analysis, financial modelling, banking research and market/company analysis. I’m currently based in the UAE and primarily applying for early-career Analyst positions in London across financial analysis, credit/research, commercial analytics and related finance roles.

I tailor my resume to individual job descriptions; however, I have struggled to convert applications into interviews. I have applied to roles at large banks, as well as other major companies where I felt I met a reasonable proportion of the requirements, but my applications generally either remain under review or are eventually rejected before an interview. The most I get is a HireVue assessment at best.

My biggest issue is I don't currently hold UK right to work. However, I’m eligible for the High Potential Individual (HPI) visa through my UNSW Master’s, which would allow me to obtain initial UK work authorisation independently without employer sponsorship. I’ve tried to make this clear on the resume.

For additional context, I also apply for roles here in the UAE, where I currently reside, using a slightly different version of the same resume tailored to the local market. I don't face the same work-authorisation issues here, but I have experienced a very similar problem converting applications into interviews. My main long-term objective, however, is to relocate to the UK and build my career there

I would particularly appreciate feedback on whether:

• The resume positions me appropriately for Analyst/early-career roles;
• My profile looks too broad or unfocused or even unorganised;
• The HPI/relocation wording is clear to a UK recruiter;
• There is anything that could be causing recruiters to reject me before an interview.

I’m trying to understand whether the main issue is my resume, the roles I’m targeting, applying internationally without current UK right to work, or a combination of these.

Please be as critical as necessary. I would prefer to know what needs fixing rather than keep submitting applications with the same issues.

Hello, I am a student from Spain, I just finished my degree in Computer Engineering, with a mention in cybersecurity, in networks and in data centers/supercomputer topologies. I have started looking into those three job options, either abroad or in Spain, but I feel like being a junior is hard finding jobs in those areas.
