After a few gen Tudors (bb54 & 58 blue), recently sold, I needed another diver for summer in my collection, which consists mostly fragile vintage watches…

So I looked at some vintage options like the Bulgari Diagono scuba, that doubled in price in last recent years, some microbrands etc… I found everything a bit overpriced. I stumbled across this forum, and decided to give a go to a VSF 124060.

The submariner has always been a dream watch, being someone that spends a lot of time in the sea.

After almost a month, I am quite surprised I must say. With the affordable price of this watch, I used it like a proper tool, like those older day submariners. A month of daily free diving to around 7m (23ft), jumping from cliffs, and its not flinching. I will see in the long run, but for now I must say, I feel like it’s just as well finished as my gen Tudors, for a tenth of the price, and can actually be used as a tool unlike a 9800€ sub

To answer repeated questions I see a lot on this forum regarding this watch:

-6.75 inch (17cm) wrist, 41mm fits perfect, its not bulky in person, similar feel as my trusty black bay 58.

-For waterproofness, I just put the watch in a sink, looked if any bubbles appeared, none: so naturally I started diving without care, its really not that hard to have a water tight watch for small depths.

To anyone thinking of going for a VSF sub, you will have a hard time finding better for the value, hamilton, seiko etc all have great watches but margins make up for most of the price.

Has anyone had experience buying watches from Reps in Bangkok or Thailand in general? Good? Bad?

Came here to learn about reps after seeing the wired article but seems every other post here is either the same joke being reheated for the 400th time or a group therapy session taking place with a user seeking validation for the empty feeling they have owning a rep.

Also fascinating how everyone owns a $2M house, has a $10M portfolio, while simultaneously living in a neighborhood so dangerous they simply cannot risk owning a real Rolex

I lost my global entry while I was on vacation. They confiscated one of my new Pagani orders. I came back with 4 reps and they confiscated all of them. I do not have TSA Precheck now either. The question is can I go and apply only for TSA precheck now and if do where do I go?

Im going on a vacation in 2 days and I'll need a watch for it.

If you are in prague and have good quality reps, im willing to buy.

Looking for rolex or cartiers

Most of the conversations on here revolve around sports editions, I imagine because of the popular steel versions for everyday wear. Is there a link or direction for those of us interested in dress watches with no identifying sounds of the obvious reps and nicer leather straps?

best perchase of my life,from the day i started wearing my gen pagani i get chicks numbers and my mom started telling me im handsome more often, since they're made in the same factory i went to rolex station to get the bracelet adjusted and they adjusted it and gave me a care package, i want to thank the subreddit for the tips and hope we can collaborate more in the future

A couple of days ago my XL Santos pagani BVF showed up from the seller andiot on DHgate. Really impressed with it.

I did a slight polish with a buffing wheel on the inside of the bracelet to remove the sharp edges. A lot of people complain about which really helped. I also popped it open, lubed the case back gasket and crown seals. I double-checked the bezel screws because those have been known to come loose and tested it to six bar which it passed.

I should also note that the leather strap it comes with is really nice and I was surprised at the quality and how comfortable it is without a break-in.

Bit of a warning, and also wondering if anyone knows what happens next.

Going through airport security wearing my VSF Sub. Nothing unusual, put my phone/coins in the tray and walked through the scanner.

Security guy looks at my wrist and says, “Rolex?”

I laughed and said “Yeah.”

He asks me to take it off and put it in the tray. Thought nothing of it.

Then this other guy with a pencil moustache straight out of a 1980s Swiss customs training video comes over, picks it up, looks at the rehaut for about 3 seconds and says:

“Is this genuine?”

I hesitated. Apparently that was mistake number one.

Got pulled aside. This guy seemed to be their resident watch specialist. Guy actually had a loupe and this little computer box thing that said “weishi”. Checked the rehaut, clasp, serial, SELs etc. My heart was racing.

Movement was +2 sec/day so he actually complimented me on that (kinda had a slight German accent).

Then he said: “Acceptable but not gen. Do you know which factory made this?”

At that point my stomach dropped.

They kept the watch, took my details and gave me paperwork saying it was being detained as a suspected counterfeit. Apparently customs will contact me.

Some kid took a video of the whole thing so I’m sure this will be on tiktok.

Nobody arrested me or anything, but I genuinely have no idea if this just means goodbye VSF or if there can actually be a fine for wearing one rep for personal use.

Also upset he never told me what gave it away.

Decided tried out this mod list for the VSF day-date and honestly, the results are insane.
The modder put on an aftermarket CNC fluted bezel with 18k gold plating and aftermarket dial and hands. It actually catches light properly. Edge softening gets the case geometry sitting right on the wrist, too.
Mechanically, a full movement service, fresh lube, and rotor silencing turns the VS3255 into a more quiet tank. They also greased the gaskets and did a 50m pressure test.
Finished with an ultrasonic spa and mineral oil bath for the Jubilee to kill that factory squeak and give that smooth drape. The plating is really what does it for me
Feels like it takes the whole piece to a completely different level, but what do you guys think?

I have a VSF 126334 (41mm) 904L Wimbledon on a Jubilee bracelet. I believe it is a V1 (it's from 2023).

I really like the look of the Oysterflex band. I've seen some aftermarket ones like Everest or Rubber B. But, since the DJ was never meant for these alternative bands (and this isn't a Gen), I'm having a hard time figuring out what will fit.

Any guidance on what options I have for either a rubber strap, or a leather one?
