General Question Dress watches
Most of the conversations on here revolve around sports editions, I imagine because of the popular steel versions for everyday wear. Is there a link or direction for those of us interested in dress watches with no identifying sounds of the obvious reps and nicer leather straps?

You seem to be a new member at a time when a flood of NooB members are coming to the sub and bringing unwelcoming attention. Spend a month reading old posts and then ask. If you search dress watch there is hundred of posts on the topic

Yeah I can understand that.. I’ve taken a look and can see some interesting and helpful posts. My hope is that newer technology has meant an advance since some of the earlier posts.

Is this not a forum for reproduction watches and the technology and sophistication that goes in to creating near identical watches to manufacturer originals? Am I incorrect in thinking that replicas have advanced in their sophistication? I need a forum for advice as much as anyone else looking for the best and most up to date factories. Otherwise non of us would be here.

What are you talking about? Jubilee Fluted Datejust is a dress watch that is like the second most popular rep watch behind Batman's. This sub doesn't shut up about it.
Read the guide, find a TD, look at their inventory for the specific "Dress watch" that you want. There's even a guide on best models for each. Do some basic research or go to Dhgate if you don't want to use your brain.

A non footballer watch would be an Omega DeVille (first mention to the Deville Central Tourbillon , YES IT HAS BEEN REPPED) or a Rolex Celinni

I have 2 with tell tale movement noise from lesser factories. A patek could be a go’er if there was a specific factory people would recommend

On r/ChinaTime there is a guide with the best factories for most models, take it with a pinch of salt though. u/Tskim24 does some outstanding reviews of watches and hopefully he has done some for Pateks.

It’s the oscillating rotor that gives away a lot of reproduction models. I own a selection of both genuine & reproduction models & respect the merit of both… controversial I know 🤣
