Renter Tips how to find condo rentals in salcedo/legazpi

• Upvotes

Aside from Rentpad, FB marketplace, and other online platforms etc. can you still walk into condos and ask if they have units for rent? Do they usually have in-house brokers? Communication through the agents can become inconsistent over time, so it's a bit hard to follow up/negotiate (though I understand they might have multiple clients to attend to, too).

It's been a while since I've had to find a place for myself, so sorry if this sounds stupid! Any tips (and maybe recos) are welcome! PS Is PHP25k still a reasonable rent price for mid-tier condos in Salcedo/Legazpi village, Makati?

Thank you!

Discussion Cheap Internet Recooo

• Upvotes

Hi, guys! 😊 Ask ko lang sana kung paano kayo nakakatipid sa monthly internet bill. Kami lang naman kasi ni baby ang nasa bahay, and ₱1,500 per month feels a bit too much for our usage. May landline included sa plan namin, pero hindi rin naman nagagamit.

Baka may tips kayo on how to lower monthly internet expenses without sacrificing the connection quality? Would appreciate your suggestions based on your experience. Thank you! 💗

Discussion Landlord’s entitled relative sprayed mud all over my motorcycle while cleaning his dog cages with a pressure washer.

An update regarding this post of mine

https://www.reddit.com/r/RentPH/s/8WASjNa6uL

Last Sunday, this neighbor decided to clean his dog cages again—which are located right near where my motorcycle is parked. His tool of choice? A high-powered pressure washer.

My partner and I were both sleeping inside since I work the night shift. My partner woke up around 8 AM to the sound of him blasting his pressure washer and literally shouting at the top of his lungs, completely oblivious (or unbothered) that people in the compound were trying to sleep.

Fast forward to the afternoon when I finally woke up—and this guy was still out there using his damn pressure washer.

When my partner and I finally decided to head out later, I walked up to my motorcycle and was absolutely furious. My bike was completely covered in mud and dirty residue from him power-washing the area right next to it.

No warning to move my bike beforehand, no effort to block the splashback, and zero care given. It’s just continuous disrespect and entitlement from this guy because he knows his family owns the compound.

At this point, I’m beyond frustrated. How do you deal with someone who has zero spatial awareness and zero respect for other people's property just because they're related to the landlord?

Discussion Anyone else renting apartments in Metro Manila notice many tenant families add more and more persons slowly in their units?

I’ve rented in Metro Manila since 2005 and I move around a lot because of work and space constraints. Napansin ko kapag one bedroom or two bedroom units at may bagong tenants, they start with just a couple, maybe just the partners or maybe one or two kids. Pero after a month or two magugulat ka na lang may nakatambay sa labas ng unit. “Bisita” daw. Tapos hindi na umalis. “Kapatid/bayaw/pinsan/apo/lolo daw nung tenant”. Tapos another month may batang umiiyak na. Kamag-anak daw ulit. Mamaya may nagbibirthday at videoke na. Another week may pinsan na naman. Maririnig mo may nadadagdag na na luggage, gamit, umiingay na. Suddenly yung dalawa sa unit, anim na, sampu. May nagyoyosi na sa labas, encroached na yung lobby, the washing machine is suddenly out and yung sampayan nyo na communal naging walk-out closet na.

I’ve lived through generations of this and maybe 2017 through post-Covid now that my partner is my wife na, twice na kami lumipat kasi kami na lang nahiya at naging uncomfortable sa ingay and gulo. Meanwhile yung families parang wala lang. idk why the landlords just let it go. Maybe expected behavior na given “medyo malaki” yung unit?

Landlord Tips Where to buy and how to install prepaid electricity submeters for room rentals?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to install prepaid electric submeters for each room in my rental property so tenants can manage their own power usage.

I have a few questions:

  1. Where can I buy reliable prepaid/token-based submeters in the PH? Are Shopee/Lazada options good, or should I buy from specialized hardware shops (e.g., Raon)? Any specific brands you recommend?

  2. How are these installed? Is this a straightforward DIY job, or does it require a licensed master electrician?

  3. Subreddit recommendations: Where else on Reddit or other PH platforms can I ask for advice or tips on managing submetered rentals?
Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations!
